Kenny Bierschenk has served as conductor of
the Mount Community Concert Band since 1995. Mr. Bierschenk holds a Bachelor's degree in Music
Education from the University of Texas at Austin, and a Master of Music degree in
Conducting from the University of Cincinnati's College-Conservatory of Music. Since
graduating from CCM in 1980, Mr. Bierschenk has held positions as a high school band
director at several schools in Houston, Texas as well as Dayton and
Cincinnati, Ohio. He is currently the
director of bands at Taylor High School. Mr. Bierschenk's wife,
Robin, is also a CCM graduate and is the orchestra and choral director at Ursuline Academy in
Cincinnati.
Their daughter, Julie, is a student in the Lakota public school system.
As a performer, Mr. Bierschenk has considerable experience as a member
of community bands, orchestras, and choral groups, including Symphony North of Houston,
the Klein Wind Ensemble of Houston, The Houston Symphony Chorus and Cincinnati's May
Festival Chorus. He has also been active as a performer on trumpet with the North
Houston Brass Quintet and the Queen City Conical Brass Ensemble of Cincinnati. He
performs regularly as a trumpet soloist at several churches in the Cincinnati and Northern
Kentucky area. He and his family are members of Mother of God Catholic Church in
