The Chi no Ryu - or, Dragons of Earth (or blood) - are, rather logically, the opposites of the Ten no Ryu. But in the anime, they were all portrayed as being single-mindedly devoted to the destruction of mankind. In the manga, this is not true. Each member has their own life, and this is almost as fascinating as the story in a voyeuristic kind of way ^_^(). For instance, Yuuto Kigai is not only a man specialised in the use of static electricity, he is also a public service official. Satsuki is not only a computer whizz-kid, she is also a lonely student. Kanoe works in an office, and Kakyou is on a respirator. They all (kinda) lead normal lives. Of course, this all gets mangled in the anime (they cut out Kakyou! And replaced him with the shallow and fast-dying Shogo Asagi!!), but the manga has a bigger scope. To fit in all the detail, the video would have had to be at least six or eight hours long...-_- I think most people would fall asleep there...
