He is buried in the Old McElvain Cemetery near DuQuoin, Illinois. He married in Richland County, Ohio, June 30, 1823 (recorded July 11, 1823) Elizabeth Stewart who was born July 12, 1805, in Vermont to Philo Stewart and died March 3, 1875, in Perry County, Illinois. Family lore says her name was Elizabeth Yearian. There were many Yearian families in the area around this Pyeatt family. Perhaps her name was Elizabeth Yearian Stewart.
