Van

Van Is the boy who Hitomi sees in the beginning of escaflowne when she is runnig on the track. He is good friends with Merle and Sorta likes Hitomi but doesnt really show it much. He is a draconian. He has beautiful white wings! He saves Hitomi using them. *aww! how sweet* He is trained by a very good guymelef "pilot" named Balgus but in the second (I think) episode the guy dies leaving Van with another hard thing t recover from. Van has a pretty sad past. He is brother of Folken, but even though Folken is the rightful heir, Van assumes the throne. You see folken ran away while trying to slay a dargon for the drag-energist so he was taken by umm I forget the guys name but he was from the zeibach. so Van got the throne. he is a full-fledged Draconian with REAL wings(it's the same for Folken). but his wings usually are hidden inside his back(don't ask me how). He has the throne because his brother & mother disappeared after his father's death.
