DISTRIBUTION AND CIRCULATION Give it away now. ...
You have a stack of crisp, freshly-xeroxed newsletters in your hand. It's winter and they warm your hands. It still smokes in the winter air. You have a nasty papercut on your right thumb, but you pay it nary a notice as you race to the meeting. It is finished!
This is the fun part. The Word usually asks the writers or anyone else to volunteer to distribute their newsletters to their areas in-state. You won't have any trouble finding people to distribute your newsletter -- some might even step up and offer to help.
Be prepared for violent reactions.
"You slashed my beautiful 500 words to 150?!"
"Wow... I'm in here!"
"Can I have another copy?"
Keep your eyes out for newsletters with missing owners. Call it out, and if no one claims the copy, keep it -- there's always use for YFC printed material, especially one you can probably mail to another inactive member you know. Keep your eyes out also for the other communications teams (or individuals) in other areas out-of-state -- it's a great feeling to give away copies to other areas, especially during conference. It's also pretty useful to hand out to inactive members and youth who might be interested in YFC.
A newsletter is also the quickest way for a YFC area to share activity ideas and insights into, among other things, what it means to be a son or daughter of God. |
