Would you like your tax return on a postcard, with no more calculation involved than simple arithmetic accomplished by even the simplest of calculators? Do you feel that you spend more money than it's worth during tax season in order to get your refund? Do you feel that the government's income tax system is overly complicated and unfair? If the answer to any of these questions is yes, then you may be ready for a flat tax system, meaning that everyone pays the same percentage of their income for federal income tax. More inside...
Ani DiFranco is an artist who exemplifies a blue-collar musician. In 1990, Miss DiFranco came out with her self-titled album. In the 12 years that followed, she has produced new material each consecutive year. During these 12 years, Ani has gained a loyal and powerful fan base of young Americans that during the time of her "breakout" album Dilate caused such an inside buzz among the music industry that labels began courting the little folk singer. Ani stayed true to her own voice, vision, and self by seeing through the padded words of some music executives, and staying with her own label Righteous Babe Records (RBR). RBR has been behind every Ani album, and has come to produce a small challenging group of musicians since its inception. Read more about Ani DiFranco inside...

The recent outbreak of corporate misconduct (revealed over the last several months) has not only sent shockwaves through the stock market but has also sent lawmakers scurrying for cover as the mid term elections approach. Concerned over how the current scandals and shaky economy will affect their reelection bids, members of Congress worked feverishly throughout July to pass legislation that would hopefully restore investor confidence and avoid a backlash at the polls come November. More about our recent political antics inside...
Recently, I read that for the first time in a long time that the U.S. Billboard Top 100 chart had no British acts on it--not one. Strange that our spate of lousy music in this country happens to occur at the same time. Coincidence? I think not! I say bring back the Brits (just like in the '80s)! Bring back the time when British music shook up American music and culture with their unique looks and sounds. Read more about bringing British music back to the charts inside...

It Was The Season of The Witch I Shot Andy Warhol -a film commentary by D.M. Sinkovits
"You've got to pick up every stitch, You've got to pick up every stitch, Beatniks are out to make it rich……" On June 3 1968, Valerie Jean Solanas descended upon a building in New York City called The Factory, a place where Andy Warhol maintained his studio. She had a .32 automatic pistol concealed in a brown paper bag. When she was asked to leave by Warhol's friends and colleagues, she ranted about her own stardom and her great literary work which she called The Scum Manifesto. More details inside...
During the 1850s in Victoria, Australia, the Gold Rush was in full swing. People came from all around to make their fortune. It was only a matter of time before mining licences were introduced, miners' rights infringed upon, and the Eureka Stockade took place. In 1854, a battle between the miners and the government raged. It left death and devastation.900 meters away from where Montrose Cottage and the Eureka Museum now are situated. In the 1850s, it was a miner's cottage but today it preserves the Eureka story for future generations. Read more about the Eureka Spirit inside...
Sexy hot actor Oded Fehr is not only an amazing up and coming actor but he is also a member of Generation X. You should recognize him best from little know films like The Mummy and its sequel The Mummy Returns. (Ok, so they were more like blockbusters!) He played Ardeth Bay, a mysterious tattooed desert warrior that completely stole the show from Brendan Fraiser not only in the sexuality category but also in acting ability. More inside...
