Pete wakes up early and goes to take Hemingway out, leaving Kaci in his bed to rest after they stayed up way too late catching up with each other and remembering how things used to be when they were living in Chicago.
“Hey!” A.J. yells from his car to Pete when he sees him walking Hemingway.
“Great, just what I needed,” Pete says under his breath. “Yeah?”
“Have you seen Jess? She didn’t come home last night.”
“Last I heard from her she was going to Hyde with your friends and that she didn’t want to be there because you pissed her off.”
“So she didn’t spend the night with you last night?”
“I wish! Look, I’m not going to argue with you over someone we both have dated. You’ve accused me of this shit before, and I’m not going to let you do the same thing to me again,” Pete says starting to walk away from A.J.
“Well if you see her please tell her to call me.”
“Yeah, whatever,” Pete says heading back to his house with Hemingway.
Pete walks in his house and lets Hemingway off his leash and heads to his bedroom.
“He’s fucking crazy Jess!”
“What are you talking about?”
“I went to walk Hemingway and as I was coming back, your boy was coming up the street and stopped me and asked me if I had seen you.”
“What did you tell him?”
“I told him that last I had heard from you was that you were going to Hyde with his friends.”
“Did he believe you?”
“I don’t know. He asked if you had spent the night with me. I told him no,” Pete says with a devilish grin.
“Oh you are so bad!” Kaci says leaning in to kiss Pete.
“Mmm, if this is how I am rewarded for being bad, then I might have to be that way more often,” Pete says after pulling away from Kaci’s kiss.
“So, what are we going to do today?” Kaci asks sitting up in Pete’s bed.
“Whatever your little heart desires babe.”
“So if all I wanted to do was lay in bed with you all day, you would do that?”
“Without a question! But honestly, would that be ALL you would want to do?”
“Well, can we really risk going out and having Alex see us? He would know that you lied to him and hate you even more than he already does.”
“That wasn’t really what I meant, but I didn’t even want to deal with him this morning, why would I want to deal with him when I am spending time with you?”
“I told him when he pissed me off yesterday that I was spending time with you today, so he knows that much, if he remembers.”
“Why did you tell him that?”
“To piss him off even more, why else?” Kaci says with a big grin on her face.
“Good one. So is that why he asked me what he did?”
“Shit if I know!”
“So, seriously, what are we going to do today?”
“Seriously, I have no clue what we should do. I do, however, know that last night you said that you would buy me my plane ticket to Chicago today.”
“That I did. Be right back, I’ll go get my laptop so I can buy you your plane ticket to come tour with me.”
Pete goes out to the living room to get his laptop and brings it into his bedroom so that he can buy Kaci a plane ticket to Chicago so that she can see him perform in their hometown and tour with him for a couple days.
“Okay, so how long do you want to go on the tour for?”
“I can’t stay long; we’re having a huge party at the house for Memorial Day!”
“Then it’s perfect for the schedule we have. Would your parents mind if I came back to Florida with you for their Memorial Day party?”
“Are you inviting yourself?”
“I guess I am. We have a few days off; I just want to spend as much time as I can with you. I’ve missed you.”
“Well, where am I going on this tour with you?”
“Obviously Chicago. Then we go to Cleveland and Columbus. Then it’s off to Indianapolis. The last one before Memorial Day is in Milwaukee at The Rave/Eagles Ballroom,” Pete informs Kaci as he reads the schedule to her from his laptop.
“Sounds like fun. Now, back to buying the plane tic ket to get me to Chicago so that I can go to all those places with you!”
“Right!” Pete says getting back to booking Kaci her flight to Chicago.
Pete books a flight for Kaci to Chicago and then turns his laptop off and puts it on his nightstand.
“Oh, I forgot to tell you, the album comes out next week!”
“That’s awesome! So it comes out and then you guys go right out on tour?”
“Yup! Comes out on the sixth and then we start touring on the 20th. It’s going to be crazy!”
“You guys having an album release party?”
“Yeah, nothing too big. It’s at the Key Club and we’re going to play a few songs from the album, mingle with fans, and all that other good stuff.”
“And when is this happening?”
“You are more than welcome to come to it. It’s on Saturday.”
“Why are you saying it like you don’t want me to come?”
“Oh no, it’s not that.”
“Then what is it?”
“I don’t have any passes to give you. I already gave my passes to Travis and a few other friends.”
“Well, would any of the other guys have one left?”
“I’m not sure.”
“So call them and find out! And not later, now! You made me call Justin last night, so it’s only right you have to call them right now!”
“Alright, I guess that is only fair. I will go call them. Go get a shower and get dressed while I make these phone calls. We’re going out when I’m done.”
“If you say so, but only if you get what I want!” Kaci says with a devilish grin.
While Kaci goes and takes a shower and gets ready to go out, Pete goes into his guest bedroom to make some phone calls. Joe and Andy didn’t have any left, so his last hope was Patrick.
“Pat, dude, I need help!”
“What?”
“I need ONE pass to the album release party on Saturday! Please tell me you have one left!”
“Who’s it for?”
“My best friend from back in Chicago! I ran into her at Hyde last night and she’s in town for a few days and wants to come! I’m so screwed if I can’t get her a pass!”
“Oh, so it’s a girl!”
“Yes! I need a pass, do you have one?”
“Yeah, I have a few left. Come over to the house to get it.”
“Alright, I’ll come over in a few and get it. And you can meet her.”
“Call me when you are on your way. And you so owe me Pete!”
Pete goes back into his bedroom and waits for Kaci to finish getting ready.
“So, I managed to forget one thing,” Kaci says walking out in a towel.
“You don’t have any clothes, do you?” Pete says laughing.
“Nope!”
“Umm, well, um, yeah, I’m sure you can fit into some of mine, is that okay?”
“It will have to be. Just get me some jeans and a shirt and hoodie and I’ll be good to go.” Kaci says turning around to go back into the master bathroom.
“Do you just want me to leave them on the bed?”
“That’s fine. And you know I’m using your eye liner and stuff too,” Kaci says walking into the master bathroom and closing the door.
“Great, now to find clothes for her to wear!” Pete says to himself.
Pete looks through his clothes, hoping that he has some jeans that would fit Kaci. To his surprise, he finds that he does have a pair of jeans to fit her and he just gives her one of his Clandestine shirts and hoodies to wear.
“Jess, I’ll be in the living room, I found you some stuff to wear, it’s on the bed.”
“Okay, I’ll be ready in a few minutes then we can leave to go wherever it is you are taking me.”
Pete goes out to the living room and starts to post a blog to his website while Kaci is getting ready.

Kaci heads out to the living room to find Pete on his laptop.
“What are you doing?” Kaci says peering over Pete’s shoulder.
“Nothing,” Pete says closing his laptop and turning around.
“Yeah right, like I believe that!”
“Well, you will never find out!” Pete says getting up, giving Kaci a kiss on the cheek. “You ready to go?”
“Yup. Do you think that we could like get me some clothes so I don’t have to wear yours if I have to stay here?”
“We can do that. Where do you want to go?”
“Nowhere special, I’m not picky, just not a place where there is paparazzi because last thing I need is for Alex or Jose to find pictures of me out in LA with you!”
“I will take that as you don’t want them finding out and not that you don’t want to be seen with me.”
“You know what I meant! God Pete! You know Alex would be the first person to cause a scene over me hanging out with you after you told him that you had no idea where I was!”
“So this Jose, is that the dude you’re dating?”
“Yeah. Nice kid, but I honestly don’t think it will work.”
“Why is that?”
“Can we talk about this in the car? I’d like to get some clothes and food!”
“Yeah sure,” Pete says grabbing his keys, phone and wallet off the counter. “Let’s go,” Pete says walking out the house.
Pete and Kaci get into his Mercedes S65 and head off for their day of sightseeing in Los Angeles.
“So, why don’t you think it will work out with this Jose dude you’re dating?”
“The business. And honestly, since being out here, I’ve kinda lost interest in him.”
“Is that because you were hanging out with Alex and now me?”
“Maybe,” Kaci says hesitantly.
“Well, I think you need to figure out what you want to do about it. Don’t lead him on only to end things based on being in the business.”
“What exactly are you trying to say?”
“I’ve used the whole ‘being in the business’ excuse before because I wasn’t really interested. And then because I’m in the business, whoever I’m with knows my every move it seems like.”
“Okay, I get what you’re saying, but me using the business would be a valid excuse. I’m going to be really busy! I checked my email before we left, I start recording when I get back to Florida.I won’t have time to be with anyone, so I see it as being quite valid enough to use.”
“Well, just don’t let it come back and bite you in the ass Jess, that’s all I’m saying. Because knowing this industry, it will.”
“I won’t.”
“You won’t plan on it, but it is bound to happen babe!”
“Well right now I’m not even worried about it. I have this feeling that something will happen when I get back to Florida anyways. He moved out of his mom’s house and into my house, and now he is moving out of my house and in with his friend Tyler.”
“Yeah, I hate to say it, but I don’t see that relationship lasting. Maybe it would be good for him to see pictures of us.”
“Maybe,” Kaci says with a devilish grin.
“You’re actually contemplating it, aren’t you?”
“Quite possibly. It would be reason enough for him not to want to be with me. You know I hate being the one to break up with people.”
“Yet you broke up with me, and from what I heard, you broke up with Alex too.”
“Yeah, but I didn’t want to break up with you!”
“Then why did you?”
“I was going to Europe on tour with Justin! I came back and things were different. I wish they weren’t, but they were.”
“But that wasn’t my fault.”
“I know, I never said it was.”
“Well, what about now?”
“Now I have a boyfriend who I thought I wanted, but apparently I don’t. And then I realized that there is someone I want.”
“So do something about it.”
“I guess I gotta break up with Jose first before I even think about being with this other person. Well, that is if this other person would want me,” Kaci says smiling at Pete, wondering if he picked up on the hint that it was him she was talking about.
