Chapter Forty-Eight
“I don’t know where she went to Alex,” Maksim says when A.J. questions him about where Kaci is when he gets to Hyde.
“Well, did she say anything to you at all tonight?”
“No, she was constantly on her phone. I’m guessing it was Pete she was talking to because you weren’t at all happy with her.”
“So she didn’t mention anything to you about being her choreographer?”
“No, nothing. Like I said, she was constantly on her phone.”
“Well, that’s weird because she was so excited to tell you that she wanted you to be her choreographer.”
“Maybe with everything that happened since you guys got in that fight she forgot. I’d be glad to be her choreographer though.”
“Well, I’m going to go home, if she is there, I’m going to try and work things out with her.”
“Keep me updated. I don’t think she is, but if she happens to still be here, I will let you know and bring her to your house.”
“Thanks, but I have a feeling that if she was on the phone with Pete all night that she is at his house.”
“Just don’t do anything stupid Alex, because you know it will jeopardize your relationship with her all together if you do anything stupid!”
“Yeah, I know. But love makes you do crazy things, just look at you and Karina,” A.J. says smiling at Karina.
“Go home, get some rest.”
“Alright, I will see you two later,” A.J. says giving Karina a hug and saying bye to Maksim.
A.J. heads home to find that Kaci is not there. Suspecting that she is with Pete, he calls Kaci’s cell phone.
Hey it’s Kaci, sorry you missed me, leave me a message and I will get back to you when I can. *beep*
“Jess baby, I’m sorry for the way I acted earlier. I hope you can forgive me baby! Please call me, I just want you to come home, we can work this out!”
A.J. hangs up after leaving Kaci the message.
“Damn that bastard! He better not be up to any funny bullshit with my Jess or I will kill the motherfucker!”
A.J. goes to his room to try and get some sleep, but knowing in his gut that Kaci is with Pete, he can’t take his mind off of that and can’t sleep.
“Maks, it’s Alex, you still out?”
“Yeah, why?”
“I can’t sleep. I know she is with him, I just know it!”
“Calm down man! What do you want me to do?”
“Drive by his house, see if he is home.”
“That’s crazy Alex, I am not stalking him!”
“What else am I supposed to do? I can’t show up at his house, it will just piss her off more than she already is pissed off at me!”
“Just leave it be. You know in your heart that she loves you!”
“Yeah, but I also know that she was with Pete before she was with me! They were together for a while, like up until right before I met her! They broke up because she was going on tour with Justin. Had it not been for that, who knows what would have happened!”
“But like I said Alex, you know she loves you. This whole thing with Pete could just be them catching up and mean nothing.”
“Or it could be them catching up and mean EVERYTHING!”
“Correct me if I am wrong, but doesn’t she have a boyfriend? And I don’t mean you.”
“Well, yeah, technically she is with Jose, but what does that have to do with anything?”
“You’re acting like an ass over a girl who isn’t even yours!”
“Oh no, she is mine! Jose knows that much, he even called her out on it and was going to break up with her because he saw pictures of me and her together in West Palm and out here in LA!”
“Listen to yourself Alex! You are crazy!”
“Yeah, I’m crazy in love with her Maks!”
“Really, because to me it sounds like you are OBSESSED with her, not in love with her!”
“You aren’t helping Maks!”
“I’m just telling you how I see it Alex! You get pissed off because she is hanging out with one ex boyfriend, yet she is dating an ex boyfriend of hers. And to be quite honest, the whole thing with you hating Pete is ridiculous. You have no idea what really happened, you heard something from someone and believed it. For all you know, you could hate someone for no reason whatsoever!”
“So what, are you taking his side now too?”
“No, I’m not taking ANYBODY’S side! That is just the truth from an outside prospective. Which, I believe, is the same prospective Jess has. I don’t think she is going to choose sides between you and Pete because she cares a lot about both of you.”
“Sounds to me like you are taking his side.”
“Be as it may, but you know what, at the end of the day, you are going to realize that you are a complete idiot for acting like you are and when you finally realize that you were wrong, she’s going to be gone.”
“Some friend you are,” A.J. says and hangs up on Maksim.
“What were you arguing about with Alex?” Karina asks Maksim.
“The whole situation with him and Jess.”
“Oh,” Karina says. “He’s crazy.”
“Yeah, I’m starting to believe that statement myself! He wanted me to drive out of my way to go by Pete Wentz’s house!”
“Why would he want you to do that?”
“Because that’s where he suspects Jess is at. He says he is in love with her, but with everything he is doing or saying, it makes it look like he is obsessed with her.”
“That’s your friend baby, I can’t help you there.”
