Kim walks out of the hospital around to the front to make the phone call to her brother. Jose is still out front because he had to change into his other clothes, and notices Kim.
“Hey, are you one of Jessica’s friends?”
“Who’s Jessica?”
“Jessica, Kaci … whatever she goes by now. Last name is Roman.”
“Yeah, why?”
“Are you going to be at the party tonight at Radius?”
“Yeah, I’m trying to call my brother because Kaci wants him to come too. You must be the friend she’s talking about.”
“Oh, so you’re Nick Carter’s sister. Think you’re hot shit, don’t you?”
“Not really. I can’t stand being his sister sometimes, especially when I have to live with him during the summer on the road!”
“Interesting. Well, I’ll let you get a hold of your brother and I hope to see you later tonight at Radius. Tell Jessica I’ll call her later.”
“Okay, nice meeting you … I’m sorry, what was your name?”
“It’s Jose.”
“Well, nice meeting you Jose.”
Jose leaves for real this time and Kim tries to get a hold of her brother.
“Hey, what’s up, it’s Nick, leave a message and I’ll get back to you.”
“Carter, answer your phone, it’s me Kim. Well, Kaci wants to see you tonight at Radius in Boca on the corner of Palmetto Park Road and Powerline Road. We’ll be there after ten. I hope to see my favorite brother there! Call me back.”
Kim starts walking back to the emergency room to tell Kaci that she had to leave her brother a message when her phone rings.
“Hello?”
“What did you want?”
“I left you a message Nick. Did you even bother to check it?”
“No, I just saw that I missed your call, thought I’d be nice and return it.”
“How nice.”
“What was the message?”
“Kaci wants you to come to Radius in Boca with us tonight. There’s a big party going on there apparently and we were invited by Y100 and are on the VIP guest list. Please Nick!”
“That’s funny because I talked to Kaci the other day and told her that I was going to be in California this week and you being my sister should know that!”
“That was this week? I thought that it was next week!”
“You really are a blonde, aren’t you Kimberleigh.”
“Look who’s talking Nickolas! So I guess that’s it. I guess I’ll see you when you come back from California.”
“If I come back, I might be out here for a while. You know that I’m trying to get this shit settled with Tiffany.”
“Oh yeah, I forgot about her. I never did like her. Got you to get engaged to her and then picks up and leaves and still expects you to marry her. What a bimbo!”
"Tell me about it. Tell Kaci and everyone else that I miss them and hope to see them soon. And tell Kaci to call me because I need to talk to her about something.”
“What’s it you need to talk to her about?”
“You know she had the same thing done to her by that idiot Joaquin. I wish he didn’t leave to go to Arizona to be with that bitch before I could talk to him. I would’ve set him straight.”
“Nick, we all would’ve set him straight. But listen, she’s dating Mike now, and she seems happy, so get back so you can talk to Mike! You know it was the same way when she first started dating Joaquin!”
“Oh, I’ll be back, and that’s a promise. I would never just up and leave my family and friends just for some girl that claims she loves me!”
“Well, I have some bad news to tell you.”
“What? Is it about Kaci?”
“Kind of. It’s about her brother, Justin.”
“What about him?”
“He’s in the hospital. I’m here too, everyone’s here.”
“Well, if everyone’s there, let me talk to Kaci.”
“Nick, she’s in the room with Justin and her mom. I can have her call you when they’re done with Justin.”
“Well, what happened to Justin?”
“Him, Jackie and Lucas were in the guest house recording stuff for that new album that Vi3 is putting together, or at least trying to put together. All of a sudden Jackie comes running outside and tells Staci to call Kaci and tell her to have Mike take her home right away, but apparently she was with Chris and they were promoting for tonight live on air, so then Jackie calls Mike back and tells him what happened to Justin and he took Kaci home right then.”
“Okay, so what happened to Justin?”
“They don’t know really. He was doing his solo part and all of a sudden he was on the floor. They think that he hadn’t had anything to eat or drink all day. I hope that’s all it is!”
“Well, tell Kaci to call me when she gets a chance. I want to talk to her for real now. We have more than one thing to talk about now.”
“Will do, but let me go so I can see what’s going on so that both Kaci and I can keep you in touch while you’re in California.”
“Okay, and I promise I will be home soon. Even if I have to come back out here for a while to get everything settled. I will no doubt be back to Florida!”
“Well, I’m sure that Kaci will be glad to hear that. But let me go so I can go talk to her for you!”
“Okay. I’ll call you later.”
“I won’t answer! I’ll be at Radius with everyone else.”
“Okay, well, tell everyone that I say hello then.”
“Will do Nick. I miss you and hope you come home soon!”
“I miss you too Kim, even though you can be a pain! I’ll see you soon! Tell Kaci I love her too.”
“Okay, bye Nick.”
“Bye Kimmy.”
Kim and Nick hang up with each other and Kim goes back inside the emergency room.
“Where’s Kaci?”
“With her mom and Justin.”
“Oh, well, Nick is in California.”
“What’s he doing in California?” asks Staci.
“Remember that girl that he was dating for the longest time and all that shit that went down between them?”
“Yeah, what about her?”
“Well, that’s why he’s out in California.”
“Oh, another one of those Joaquin situations?”
“In a way, yes. But unlike Joaquin, Nick will be back. He loves Kaci too much to ever do the same thing Joaquin did to her.”
“Well, at least I can trust the words that come out of Nick’s mouth!”
“Yes, my brother is at least good for that! Especially when it comes to Kaci. He’s always been real close to her. I think that he really likes her, even though she always has a boyfriend when he’s around.”
“I think she’s afraid that he would do the same thing since all the girls he’s been with have claimed that he’s never faithful.”
“But she knows Nick on that kind of personal level. She’s different from all the other girls he’s dated. He actually genuinely cares about her. I think he has it bad for her. He said that he wants to talk to Mike when he comes back and that would be the first thing that he would do.”
“Well, that could be a good thing, can’t it? At least letting Mike know that she has people who care a lot about her and everything.”
“Yes, that is a good thing, but with Nick, it can be a bad thing because he could scare Mike and then Mike and Kaci could end up breaking up!”
“Oh, well, that’s not a good thing. Despite she was hiding it from us, they do make a cute couple!”
Kaci walks out of the room where Justin is and back out into the waiting room to bring news to the rest of them.
“Justin is doing fine. They still don’t really know what happened, but he said not to worry and go back home. If you guys want to go see him, only one person can go at a time, but feel free to.”
“Hey Kaci, can I talk to you for a quick second?” asks Kim.
“Yeah sure.”
Kaci and Kim walk outside the hospital and walk towards the back talking.
”So, is your brother coming?”
“I called him, but he’s in California. He said that you knew that.”
“I thought that he was going to California next week or something to settle shit between him and that bitch Tiffany.”
“Yeah, that’s what I thought too, but when I told him that, he called me a dumb blonde.”
“But he’s your brother Kim!”
“Yeah, but he said that he wants you to call him when you get a chance. He knows about Justin.”
“Well, I would’ve liked to have seen him tonight, but I guess that a phone call will do. I need to talk to him anyway.”
“That’s weird, he said that he needs to talk to you about something important. Do you think it’s about Tiffany?”
“I know it’s about her Kim, he told me what it was he had to talk to me about the last time I talked to him.”
“Oh, well, he said for me to tell you that when you’re done with Justin to give him a call.”
“Well, I guess that I’ll call him and then we can get going.”
“Okay, I’ll go back and tell Staci and Jackie and see if Jackie will give us a ride back to your house.”
Kim walks back inside the hospital and over to Staci, Jackie and Lucas.
“How’s Kaci doing?” asks Lucas.
“She’s doing fine. Actually, she was wondering if one of you could take us back to the house.”
“I guess I’ll take you,” Lucas says.“I need to go back to the house anyway. You don’t mind staying here with Mrs. Roman, do you Jackie?”
“No. I took them here, you can take them home,” Jackie says jokingly.
