Broken Hearts

I slept til about 10 the next morning. I got up and stretched.

"Where in the world am I?"

It took a few seconds to remember. I went in the bathroom to fix my hair the best that I possibly could. When that was done, I went to go find the boys.

"Good Morning" they all said as I came in the room.

" Man, what a welcoming!" a bit overwhelmed

After a little while, we decided to eat lunch since AJ and Nick's stomachs were growling loudly. We all went to the hospital cafeteria. We sat down with our food and started to talk. Nick and AJ ended up cracking jokes and we were all laughing. It was such a relief to be laughing and having some fun. As we were finishing, a ringing caught us off guard. I reached in my purse and answered it. I excused myself and went in the hallway. I was standing against the wall entering the cafeteria, so the boys could see me. Well, the person that had called was my boss.

"Have the boys back at 4 or 5 to do a photo shoot and some more of the filming. Have them here no matter what!" He said very persistently.

"There is no way we can be there today at 4-5. Brian is in the hospital following an accident that happened at the station and we are waiting and hoping for his recovery... and he turned worse yesterday. The boys are very concerned and do not want to leave the premises. I am staying to help them and Brian through this.”

"So you are disobeying my orders?" he said angrily.

"I am doing what I think is right and yeah, I guess I am. Do you have a problem with that? What is wrong with you? Do you have any compassion at all?" I said steaming, though he didn't seem to care.

"DON'T TELL ME WHAT I SHOULD FEEL. I AM YOUR BOSS AND I TELL YOU WHAT TO DO, NOT YOU TELL ME... I HAVE DEADLINES. IF I DON’T MEET THOSE DEADLINES THEN I GET MY ASS CHEWED. HELL, IF I AM GOING TO DO THAT. I DON’T HAVE TIME TO WAIT FOR YOU TO DO YOUR JOB. That's it.. YOU'RE FIRED!"

"What?" I gasped, shocked.

" YOU HEARED ME. I WANT YOUR STUFF OUT OF HERE BY FRIDAY AT NOON!”

“You can’t do this”

“I SAID FRIDAY AT NOON!”and he hung up on me.

Meanwhile, the boys were talking and heard me raising my voice to the person on the phone. They stopped laughing and became quiet.

"Man, she looks pissed." AJ said.

"I wonder what they're talking about?" Howie joined in.

"Well, it has to be about her or us, u think?" AJ said.

"She doesn't look very happy at all,” Nick said finally.

By the time they got over to where I was, I was gone. They were left a little puzzled. They went back to the waiting room by Brian's room.

I don't know how long I was there, in that bathroom but it was lonely and miserable, all crouched down with my knees curled up to my chin. Finally, I let it all out, stood, cleaned up, left and met the guys.
