Chapter 3

"Kaci!" Kaci blinked, finally coming back to herself and gasping for breath. Only then realising she was on the floor, looking up she saw her brother's concerned face. A feeling of immense fear washed over her, making her eyes water as a protective feeling followed it through. She understood now. She knew what it was she had to do.

"Kaci?" She looked up to find Jeff's face next to Adam's, he reached down and wiped the few tears that had left her from her face. Pulling her up and holding her a minute, only letting go when she felt she could stand.

"I'm okay," she mumbled softly, looking to her brother's concerned face, then looking to Jeff. She looked into his eyes solemnly, hoping he'd understand, knowing he did when he gave her a lopsided smile and left the room quickly. Kaci looked around her. "Where'd the front door go?"

"When you froze up on me, you stayed in the standing position for a few seconds, then slipped from my shoulder, you feel to the floor, I was yelling at you, trying to make you wake up," he stopped a minute, frowning. "But your eyes were open, you were just staring ahead. My yelling brought Jeff back and we carried you in here. We put you on the sofa, but just before you snapped out of it, you started choking, you just stopped breathing then started to choke, on nothing. My god Kaci, you've never scared me so much." He finished softly, sitting down on the sofa. She sat with him.

"Adam's, there's so much shit I have to tell you. Most of it I don't understand, but I know what I have to do." He looked at her.... doubt in his eyes.

"Kaci... if this is about that dream.." She cut him off quickly.

"Adam, I'm not sure they *are* dreams. The first one I had when I was sleeping. But just now, it was like I was dreaming, but I was awake, and it happened when my skin came into contact with yours." He looked at her doubtfully, she continued. "The first dream, it showed me a few things. It showed me you running, you were running from something, something that you feared like nothing before, then a car hit you. Then, it showed me your funeral, that's how I knew who Krissy was, I saw her standing at your grave, she's close to you isn't she?" Dumbfounded, Adam nodded. "I thought so, she was in alot of pain. Then it showed me my own 18th birthday, when you were there. But then, someone, I don't know who, I never get a good look at him, he.... he hurt you, then turned to me. That's when I woke up." She looked to Adam. "I'm not crazy Adam, I'm not." He nodded, digesting what he had been told.

"Kaci, if I'm completely honest with you, you've scared me. If you were crazy, you wouldn't know who Krissy was. Now, I'm scared for my life. What happened just now?" Kaci swallowed.

"You were somewhere, in some kind of room, with friends, and Krissy was next to you, gazing at you like you were the only thing she saw. Then as I watched, I was under a sea of blood and I was dying. That's when I snapped out of it. Listen, Adam, I know I sound crazy, but I know what these are, what they mean, what this higher power is *telling* me." Her voice rose in desperation, and he could tell she was scared.

"Go on... tell me." He nodded at her, taking her shaky hand in his and squeezing reassuringly.

"They're warnings. The one where it was my birthday, that's telling me I have to come here, and that whoever it is that wants to hurt you, was there, too. The others, they're trying to let me know who it is, who and what to look out for, but I've only ever seen his grin. I'm being warned of a danger, a danger to the person I hold most dear, a danger I can stop.... if I can find it." Adam took a deep breath, his sister wasn't crazy.... and he believed her, he really did. She knew to much for these things not to have happened....

"Kaci... Jeff and I, we have to go to a party tonight. It's being held by Vince McMahon, and as we're his employees, we have to go. Can you stay here on your own and try to figure this out?" He asked her softly, relieved to notice she'd stopped shaking.

"No," she shook her head stubbornly. "Not a chance, if you go, I'm coming with you. I've been warned by a power greater then any living thing on this earth Adam. I can't ignore it now I'm here and let you go somewhere that could possibly be dangerous for you." She pouted, giving him her puppy dog eyes that she knew he couldn't resist. Despite the situation, he chuckled.

"Okay... you can go, but you'll have to go as my date," she giggled slightly, stopping when she was suddenly overcome with a huge yawn. Adam looked at her, concern written on his face. "But first, go to the guest room and get some sleep, I'll wake you up so you have enough time to be ready." Yawning again she nodded. Making her way to the guest room and laying on the bed, sleep coming to her as soon as she closed her eyes.
