Chapter 2

Leah woke up the next morning with her head thumping. She didn’t know why but she covered her eyes as the brightness filled the room. Slowly she fell out of bed and walked over to Jamie’s bed.
“Hey little man.” She said softly as she lifted the giggling toddler up. “You want some breakfast?” She asked him kissing his forehead.
“Mumma.” He cooed as she walked out into the kitchen where Eddie and his crew sat.
“Morning.” She said with a yawn.
“Sleep well?” Eddie asked as he handed her a coffee.
“I did thanks. Until I got up. I have a splitting headache.”
“You have been getting lots of them lately Clo, are you ok?” A voice from the table came. Chloe looked around to see Eddie’s older sister Sonia sitting there.
“Hey ya.” She said giving her a small hug. “I don’t know. I have been feeling off lately but I’m ok.”
“You should go see a doctor.” Sonia suggested.
“Yeh, maybe I will.” Chloe said putting Jamie down on a chair. “Are we in the harbour already?” Chloe asked as she heard the noise around them.
“Yeh, we have been for a while.”
“What’s the time?”
“7:32. Why?”
“Because I have to be in a meeting in fifteen minutes!” Chloe said picking Jamie up and heading back to her bedroom, where she got changed into her racing suit, which she tied around her waist and she pulled on a bra top and tucked her fire proof vest in at the waist (authors note: Jeff style). She dressed Jamie and went back to the others. I’m going to go.” She announced.
“Ok. I’ll catch up with you before the race. Ok?”
“Sure no problem.”
“Clo, do you want me to look after Jamie for the day?” Sonia asked.
“Are you sure?”
“Yeh. I’m just hanging around not doing anything so I would love to.”
“That would be great. Thanks so much.” She said giving Sonia another hug and handing her Jamie.

Jeff waited impatiently for Matt to get into the car. He wanted to get to the airport as soon as he could and get on the plane to go see his angel.
“What took you so long?” Jeff asked as Matt finally got in the car.
“Chloe rang.”
“What did she want? You didn’t tell her did you?”
“No I didn’t and she just wanted to say hi before she had morning warm up. Apparently Bernie Ecclestone is giving her a hard time about something and he is thinking of not letting her race.”
“Why not?”
“Because Chloe missed briefing.”
“She never misses it.”
“I know. And she sounded really up set, I don’t think it was about the race either.”
“What do you mean?”
“She sounded ill Jeff.”
“How ill?”
“I don’t know but I’m worried about her.” Matt said as he pulled out of the drive and drove of down the street.
“I’m am as well know.” Jeff said looking out the window. “Maybe I should call her.”
“She has practise now. But I will call her later if you can’t from the plane.”
“I will use the plane phone. I hope she’s ok Matt.”
“Me too.”
