Chapter 1
By the time Jamie turned three Leah and Jeff
had been happily married for just under two years. Jeff was the WWF
light-heavyweight champion and Leah was second in the 2005 world championship
in formula one.
Neither wanted anything to change. Leah was in
Monaco for the race at Monte-Carlo. She was staying with Eddie on his boat,
which was moored just of the harbour. Leah lay in a bikini on the deck with
Jamie playing beside her and Eddie sat near by lifting weights.
“You looking forward to this?” He asked her as
he put the weight down and took a sip of water.
“I guess, but I hate this track, one slip and
you have had it.”
“Tell me about it. I wrote the car of
yesterday.”
”Yeh, but you qualified second behind me today.”
“True.” He said smiling as Chloe got up and
lifted Jamie up with her.
“I think it’s bed time for this little one.”
She said picking up his sun hat before heading down into the boat and into the
room that Eddie called ‘hers’ as she stayed on it a lot to relax and train
in the mini gym.
Eddie followed her down and fixed them a small
snack. He went to her room where she stood looking down at Jamie.
“What you thinking about?” He asked walking up
to her.
“How different my life would be without him.”
“You regret it?”
“No. Never. How could I? He’s the most special
person in my life, well, except Jeff.”
“Kids get you like that. I should know.”
“How is Zoe by the way?”
“She’s great thanks. She’s growing up
fast.”
“Kids get you like that!” Chloe said smirking
back at him. She grabbed a t-shirt from her pile of clothes and put it on as
it was getting cold and dark outside.
“You wanna go watch a film?”
“Sure.” She said smiling as she followed him
from the room. She loved his boat as it had everything, a TV, shower, Jacuzzi,
basically anything you could want. She slumped down on one of the leather
sofas as Eddie put a tape in the VCR and sat down beside her.
Chloe rested her head on Eddie’s shoulder as she
struggled to stay awake. Soon she was asleep and Eddie carefully got up and
carried her into her bedroom. He lay her down and covered her with the sheets
before turning the light out and heading out of the room.

“So when does your flight leave?” Matt asked
Jeff as they sat in Matt’s house in Cameron North Carolina.
“In about seven hours” Jeff said smiling. “I
should get there just after the race.”
“She doesn’t even know you are going?”
“Nope, but Ben knows but he is keeping quiet.”
“Your mad Jeff!”
“Nope, I’m in love big bro.” He said
ruffling Matt’s hair as he went to get a drink.
Matt sighed and slumped back into the sofa as he
thought about Lee, his ex girlfriend. They had broken up a year before after
she had cheated on him. He found out and sent her out his house and hopefully
back to Britain. Chloe had stopped talking to Lee after she found out what she
had done. And know Chloe was trying to get Matt someone new. She knew the
perfect person for him but the thing was she needed to get them to meet, which
wouldn’t be hard as the girl, Sam, was her physiotherapist, but Matt
didn’t know and Leah had roped Jeff in on her match making scheme.
Matt snapped from his thought as Jeff put a bottle
of ice-cold water on his neck. “JESUS!” He snapped as he grabbed the
bottle away form his neck.
Jeff just laughed as he watched Matt. “Why
don’t you ring her?”
“Who?”
“Lee.”
“NO! Not after what she did to me. How did you
know that was what I was thinking about anyway?”
“I’m your brother.”
“I’m over her Jeff. I just don’t understand
why she did it.”
“None of us do.”
“Anyway, hadn’t you better go pack?”
“It’s all done!” Jeff said proudly.
“You? Packed already?” Matt said laughing.
“Yes and now I’m bored. I knew I left
everything to the last minute for a reason, you never have time to pass by.”
“You mad Jeff!” Matt joked as he threw a
cushion at his brother.
