Chapter
3:
Welcome Back Chica…
“Perfect!”
I screamed while jumping out of the kitchen chair.
There
was this new club called “Fear” in town, and it was the perfect place for
tonight. Faith absolutely loved to
go to clubs, so this is gonna work out great!
I grabbed my keys and headed out to my baby. Once I had picked up my dry-cleaning, came home, and quit my
job, it was finally time to pick up Faith.
I hopped into my 2000 black Mustang and drove to the airport…
“Damn
it, which gate was I supposed to meet her at?”
I wondered out loud to myself. All
of a sudden I hear an ear-piercing scream. I turn around to see why the hell someone would scream like
that, and when I was fully turned around; I was knocked straight on my ass with
someone hugging me. It was Faith.
“Chica,
you scared the shit out of me!” I said while hugging her back.
“I
can tell I was missed!” Faith said while pulling a way with a smirk.
“Stop,
you know I missed you.” I said
while laughing a little.
I
took a few steps back and admired her. We
were two totally different people. Faith
was a goody goody, while I lurked around for some trouble.
She was the outgoing, says what’s on her mind kind of person…I was
the shy, kept my mouth shut type of girl. So,
I liked to keep to myself, who cares? Now
looks were also very different. She
was beautiful, while I was just…Me…Faith had Blonde, really long, always in
the perfect place curly hair. Mine
on the other hand was brown just below my shoulder blades, silky smooth straight
hair. Faith’s eyes are to die
for. They are a deep crystal blue,
while mine are an emerald green. She
was around 5’4” and I was around 5’6.”
She had a voluptuous beautiful figure.
She didn’t have many flaws. I
on the other hand, didn’t have the model type body like her.
I had a little more muscle than her but not anything manly or something
drastic like that. Just the basics,
ya know? I didn’t consider myself
beautiful…I used to, until Adam came along…
“Laura?”
Faith almost screamed while shaking me a little.
“Huh?
Wha? Sorry what were you saying?”
I said snapping out of my little state of admiration.
“I’ve
been asking you what you were staring at for the past ten minutes.
Do I have something on my face or what?”
Faith replied half jokingly, somewhat relieved that I had stopped
staring.
“Oh,
ha, I was just thinking about how different we are, yet we’re still best of
friends,” I said.
Faith
smiled, “That’s how life works it’s magic I guess.”
“I’m
exhausted! Let’s go home and you
can fill me in on your love life.” Faith
said while walking away without her second suitcase. What am I her maid?
“What
love life?” I replied
sarcastically yet seriously, picking her suitcase up and catching up to her.
“Ugh!
Let’s go.” She said
dragging me towards the parking lot, luggage in hand.
As
we got to the car I picked up the suitcase she was carrying and exclaimed,
“Damn girl! What the hell do you
have in here?”
“A
dead body…” She said with a serious face.
I just stared at her in awe until she broke into a fit of giggles.
“What’s
so funny?” I demanded.
As her giggles were winding down.
“Your
face when I said that!” She
yelled while breaking into another round of giggling.
I chucked her suitcases into the trunk and closed it.
“Ha,
ha Faith.” I said and then broke
into my own fit of giggles…
“Oh
my God! It’s clean!”
Faith yelled happily.
“Duh,
I’m not a pig chica.” I said,
walking into the house after her and placing her suitcase down in the foyer.
“Could’ve
fooled me Birdi!” She laughed.
“Bitch,”
I said smiling.
“Thank
you,” she replied still giggling a little.
“So,
tell me Laura, what’s on the agenda tonight?”
Faith asked while unpacking in her room.
“Well,
my friends told me about this new club and I know you love clubs so that’s
where we’re headed later on.”
“Now
that’s what I call a plan!” She
yelled coming out of her room and into mine, where I was cleaning up a bit.
“Go
get ready, we leave at 9:00.” I
said to her.
“Can’t
wait Birdi, wear something good!” Faith
said while bounding back to her room…
