Chapter 12
Chloe sat at the table with her head in her hands. She knew she shouldn't of
even let Jeff inch closer to her, not just for the fact that he and Leah
were dating, but also because she was having enough trouble restraining
herself without him showing any feelings towards her. Matt was keeping her
company while she was sad but although she knew he cared, she didn't want
him there. He didn't know what was wrong with Chloe and she knew he should
know, but she couldn't tell him. Not today.
"Are you going to tell me Chloe?" Matt asked putting down the
newspaper.
"Or at least tell me someone that will?"
Chloe shook her head and buried her head in her hands again.
"Are you sad or something?"
"No. More like something was about to happen that shouldn't even be
considered."
Matt laughed a little bit. "I know what is going on! Jeff told me but
wouldn't tell me the person!" Matt said smiling.
"Great." Chloe said sarcastically.
"Don't worry. He stopped right?"
"Yeah, but that's the thing, I didn't move when I should of. I know he is
taken, I know his girlfriend was one of my dearest friends but it was hard.
I never knew it would be so god damn hard."
"I warned you."
"You did not!" Chloe said angrily. "No one warned me it would be
hard
because everyone knows that whenever he does that, he kisses them and ends
up dating them. I guess there is a first time for everything."
"Chloe, as much as I love you like a sister, Jeff is my brother and I don't
want you too hurt him. He is in love with Leah."
"Well DUR Matt. That's what makes it so bad. I wouldn't go out of my way to
hurt you, maybe Jeff, but not you." Chloe said angrily then smiled.
"What am
I going to do?" She asked as tears threatened to spill down her soft,
slightly tanned cheeks.
"The best option I can come up with is to leave them alone."
Chloe began to cry. "I've tried Matt." She cried as he hugged her,
running
his hand over the soft material that made her top, trying to comfort the
young diva. "I really have."
---
Leah sat down next to Jeff and took his hand his hers. She looked at him,
searching his face for any evidence of what had made him so incredibly sad
and depressed. She softly ran her hand over his cheek then to his neck,
showing him she cared.
Jeff put his hand on top of Leah's as she rested her hand on his neck. He
slowly took her hand off and sighed before he talked. "No Lee." He
said
quietly.
"I thought we figured this all out. I thought you wanted this." She
said
kissing his hand softly.
Jeff nodded and moaned at her soft touch on his tender neck. Her lips softly
brushed against his and he slowly opened his mouth, letting's Leah's tongue
have entry to him. As the kiss broke he smiled and she put a hand on his
cheek, cupping it softly he leant towards her touch.
"See, this is the Jeffy I remember." She said giving him another long,
soft,
passionate kiss.
"But Leah, it isn't the Jeff I am now." He said quietly.
"What do you mean honey?" She asked concerned.
"I think you should know something." He said taking her small delicate
hands
inside his much larger ones and turning towards her slowly. "You wanted to
know why I am quiet? Hesitant? Because Leah, I had trouble saying no."
Leah smiled a nervous smile. "Say no to what?"
"Chloe." He said pulling away a little so that Leah wouldn't hurt him.
"It
was all my Leah, like it basically always has been. Leah, I love you. Just
Chloe was looking after my cuts when I couldn't find you and you know how
much I love a woman that cares and knows how too. I inched closer but
stopped. Leah I love you. I don't want to loose you."
Leah nodded slowly and pulled her bottom lip into her mouth, chewing on it
nervously. "Well Jeff, you know I love you."
"That's just it Leah, we love each other." He said excitedly. "We
love each
other so why can't we be together? Why can't we just push this little
incident away and live our lives together?"
Leah nodded slowly then shook her head. "I don't know Jeff. I should be
hitting you down right now, making you beg for me to just look at you." She
said knowing that she could never do that. "But the temptation was there
Jeff. I'm not blind, Chloe is a beautiful girl, many guys have had trouble
resisting her before, why are you different?"
"Because I am in love with an even more beautiful girl." Jeff said
giving
her a slow kiss only to realise she didn't kiss back.
Leah nodded again, taking in Jeff's words. "I need time. I think I need to
talk to Chloe." She said letting go of Jeff's hands and standing up. She
reached the door, seeming hesitant but then continued on her way down to
Chloe's room for the evening. She needed both side of the story.
---
"Leah." Matt said shocked as he stood at the door. "I don't know
if you
should come in, Chloe is in here." He said looking back at the young girl.
"Unless she has had two Hardy boys in one day, I say step aside little
man."
She said angrily.
"Leah!" Matt said angrily, hating the fact that she called him a
little man.
"I'm sure she doesn't want to see you! She is upset enough. She doesn't
need
you picking on her to make it worse for her."
"Like she can talk stealing my man and all!" Leah said angrily.
"Matt, I
know you don't want Jeff hurt any more than I do but I am positive the
little bitch in there does!"
"Leah, she doesn't want to hurt him."
"Can you please stop saying my name? I am the only one here and I know what
my name is. Just let me in. You can sit there with her if you want. I need
to talk to her." Leah demanded, putting her foot next to the doorframe so
Matt had no chance of shutting the door on her. "Please Matt."
Matt sighed, knowing he couldn't stay mad at her or even deny her entry to
the room. He stopped aside, letting Leah into the room for a much-needed
confrontation.
Leah sat down at the table Chloe was sitting at and looked at her. "I hope
the temptation you made him have was worth it Chloe. He doesn't want you, he
said he still wants me."
"I'm glad." Chloe said, still not feeling too well. "It's nice to
know the
bitch always wins."
"Chloe, I didn't try and take your man. I never, ever would even dream of
hurting you like that. How can you be so selfish? I did nothing to you and
all I get is you trying to take the one thing that keeps me going these
days."
"Leah, I didn't do anything. I was fixing his cuts because he couldn't see
them or find you. Big deal that I saw him with his top off so has many
people around the world and you don't hate them. He isn't a virgin Leah, I
am sure girls have gone way further that what I have and let's face it, I
was helping him with his cuts! It wasn't like I took his top off for him or
anything. I didn't even put his hair up. So you can hate me all you God damn
well want, but you know what? You hate me for something I didn't have any
control of. I didn't inch closer to him and by my Lord Leah, I could have."
Leah sighed, knowing Chloe's speech was a little too good for her to come
back with anything. All her material was beaten up in Chloe's words. Leah
put her hands on the table and sighed. "Why can't you let us be together
and
happy?" Leah asked sadly.
Chloe sighed just like Leah had previously had. "I haven't done anything. I
haven't deliberately flirted, since everyone said I was indeed flirting. I
didn't attempt to kiss him. I didn't talk to him for my own pleasure, but to
keep the ideas flowing into his mind about how too keep you by his side.
Leah, you think I have been trying to take him, when really, I have been
trying to keep you two together. Now leave Leah. I don't want you here. I
don't need to hear you bitchy comments." Chloe said putting her heavy
feeling head deep into her soft palms belonging to her small hands.
Leah's heart sunk as she realised what Chloe had been doing all that secret
time Jeff and Chloe have been together on slow walks around the arena. She
had thought that they were walking, secretly planning their revenge on Leah
for keeping them apart, when really, they were trying to save her and the
relationship she had always wanted. "I guess I am sorry then." Leah
said
standing up.
"I don't want your apology. Next time Leah thought, think before you
act."
She said getting up to get a drink. "And before accusing me for taking
Jeff,
remember who he is with."
"But Chloe, I know you liked him."
"And I only didn't kiss him when I could have because I know that would
truly hurt one of my dearest friends, I know that she was going out with him
and as much as I adored the man, I stepped away." Chloe said then took a
drink. "Out of the kindness of my heart." She said waiting for Leah to
leave
before she broke down in the tears that were threatening to exit her tightly
closed eye lids as she took forever just to put the bottle down. "Now go
Leah." Chloe said and Matt slowly made his way to Chloe's side, hearing the
hurtful sound in her sweet voice. He knew she was about to cry, and hearing
her words, Matt felt like he was too.
Leah left the room, rushing back to Jeff as tears fell down her cheeks. How
could she be so terribly wrong? She had ruined a perfect friendship of
jealousy.
