Chapter 5
“Jeff are you going to go and see Carly before she goes to sleep? You know she’ll want to see you.” Amy said to Jeff as she left the hotel room that Carly had been given to rest in while the others all had to go down to the Madison Square Garden arena and practice for Smackdown.
“Yeh, I guess.” He opened the door and stepped inside he looked at Carly’s petite figure laying on the bed, even from where he was standing he could see how pale and tired she looked. She turned and faced him, she smiled, but Jeff didn’t know what to do or say, he stood starring at his fiancée that was still smiling at him, he watch her smile fade as he made no attempt go over to her after an awkward silence Jeff couldn’t take it any more he didn’t know what to do so he turned around leaving her lying there. He heard he calling him weakly but he left, feeling a pain begin to throb in his chest.
“Morning, how are you feeling?” Linda asked as Carly got down to the dinning area of the hotel.
“I’m ok.” She saw Matt, Jeff and Amy sitting at a table. Amy beckoned her over but she shook her head and went to sit on a table by herself.
“Why won’t she come sit with us?” Amy asked Matt and Jeff.
“I dunno, I thought they had sorted things out, but I guess we still have to put our plan into action.” Matt replied as he looked at his brother who had his arms on the table with his head resting on them.
“Look, I was thinking about that and I don’t want you to do it, I’ve got an idea that will work and I only have to wait until Smackdown. I’ve gotta go talk to Vince.” He got up and left Matt and Amy a bit stunned.
Carly spent the rest of the day watching all the others training and doing mock up matches. Vince had told her on that she and Amy would face Jay and Adam on Smackdown for the Tag Team titles, he never said who the winner would be, she had been hoping it would be her and Amy. He also told her after she had had that match she would have a match against Joanie for the women’s title and she would have someone coming with her to ringside. She was shocked but he said as she was leaving he thought she needed to go out with a bang.
She couldn’t believe that Jeff had come to her room the day before and not said a thing to her. She didn’t know if she was mad at him or just annoyed.
Amy came and sat beside her, they talked about the tag match, Vince had told her he wasn’t going to set a winner, so they just had to go for it.
After they had had a drink and something to eat Carly decided to go get some sleep so she went and slept for 14 straight hours.
When she woke the next morning she was so excited as it was her last Smackdown and she only had one more RAW to go. She put on her Bluefire halter neck and a pair of cargo trousers. She put her comfy trainers on and pulled her hair back into a high ponytail, she grabbed her bag and headed down to get some breakfast.
“Morning!!” she greeted Steph with a hug.
“You look so much better! Why are you so happy?”
“Because it’s my LAST Smackdown and then it’s just RAW to go!!!” she jumped around like an idiot while Steph laughed.
Matt and Jeff sat a near-by table and they saw how happy she was she was finally going home. She caught Jeff’s eye and stopped jumping and she looked away from him.
“So, Carly, what do you wanna eat?” Steph said as she and Carly sat down at a table.
“Everything!! No, I’ll have a croissant with lots of butter and an orange juice.” Steph then ordered and that sat talking about her matches that night and how she was looking forward to going home, Carly kept catching Jeff’s eye but she had decided she was mad at him so she just gave him the evils, she knew it was childish, but she didn’t care. If he could go into a room and just walk out when she looks at him, he got all he deserved.
“You’re getting better at this!!” Amy said as Carly hit her summersault on Jay in their warm up match.
“Thanks, but I won’t have to do it again!!!” she then jumped around in excitement and she threw he arms around Adam’s shoulders and planted a kiss on his lips, he stood there shocked as she carried on jumping around. “We have 3 hrs before the show so what do you wanna do now?”
“I’m gunna go get something to eat, I’ll take him with me.” Jay said as he directed Adam out of the ring.
“Well, I wanna go see Matt and Jeff, you wanna come?”
“Na, I’m not in the mood for him right now.”
They then said bye and went in separate directions.
