Chapter 32
Leah opened her eyes the
next morning and rolled over expecting to see Jeff there, but he wasn't. she
sat up and wiped her eyes and looked around the room. Slowly she pushed the
covers down and put her feet onto the floor she stood up, wincing as she felt
a twinge in her stomach. She managed to steady herself before she walked to
the chair and picked up one of Jeff's shirt, she put it on and walk from the
room. She reached the stop of the stairs and stopped to listen to the voices
downstairs.
"How is Leah?"
Matts voice came up the stairs.
"I think she's ok.
She's still asleep." Jeff replied.
"Are you ok?"
"I dunno. I feel so
useless. She's hurting so much and i can't stop it. I let it happen and now
she has to live with it."
"Jeff you did not let
it happen."
"But...."
"No buts Jeff. This
isn't your fault. You have to be strong for her and for you."
"I'm trying."
"I know you
are."
"Enough about me. how
are you and Colleen?"
"We great. Well, she
was acting all weird last night. She didn't say much in the car and at the
restaurant she pushed most of her food around her plate."
"She probably wasn't
feeling to good. She was probably worried about Leah and stuff."
"The twin thing
right?"
"Yeh, that's the
thing." Jeff said with a small laugh, Leah couldn't help but smile. But
at the same time she was worried about her sister.
"Don't you hate their
mood swings? Colleen has them so i guess Leah does."
Again Jeff laughed.
"Yeh they annoy me but that's Leah, she wouldn't be the same if she
didn't get angry, upset or grumpy."
"Colleen never gets
angry, she gets really happy and then the next minute she will be sad as
hell."
"Weird."
"That's girls for
you." Matt said laughing with Jeff.
Leah decided to get them
for that and headed down the stairs. She walked into the kitchen, where the
two of them stood. She walked up to Jeff and hit him upside the head and
walked to Matt and did the same. She got two 'ouch's' for her troubles, she
smiled and walked out of the room. Heading back up the stairs to go and talk
to Colleen about what was troubling her.
