Chapter 18
That day the four of
them went to the park. They had a blanket and a picnic basket. They all sat
under a big shaded tree.
“So you had no idea
about meeting Colleen?” Matt asked Leah as he took a bite of his sandwich.
“No. And as you must
have guessed it was a bit of a shock.”
“We guessed that
much.” Colleen said smiling at her sister.
“I didn’t mean to
run. I just did.” Leah said as she sat down in between Jeff’s legs and
leaned back against him. He softly kissed her neck.
Colleen noticed the ring
that was on Leah’s finger. “Leah…did you forget to mention anything to
me?”
“I don’t think so,
why?”
“Well I can see
something that you never told me about.” She said as everyone looked at her as
if she was mad.
“Care to tell me?”
Leah replied.
Colleen lent forward and
took Leah’s left hand and lifted it and pointed to the ring with her thumb.
“Oh that.” Leah said
as she looked at the ring Jeff gave her.
“What do you mean
‘oh that’?” Jeff said as he poked her in the side.
“I guess I’m so used
to it being there now I don’t notice it.”
“Why didn’t’ you
tell me?” Colleen asked.
“I thought I did. But
we didn’t speak much after Jeff gave it to me.”
“Well
congratulations.” Colleen said as she hugged her sister and Leah moved so she
could hug Jeff.
“Thanks.” They both
said together.
“And you didn’t tell
me Jeff.” Matt said trying to look offended.
“You know how it is.
You get engaged to a beautiful girl and you just happen to forget about it.”
Jeff said as Leah turned around at hit him upside the head. “Ouch!!” Jeff
said in mock pain.
“You asked for that
one bro.” Matt said laughing as Leah came and sat by him.
Jeff looked offended and
stuck his tongue out. “I’m lonely now!” he pouted.
“I’m not.” Leah
said smugly as she leaned up against Matt who placed an arm around her.
“Awww…. poor Jeffy!” colleen said as she moved over to Jeff and sat where Leah had been before. Jeff placed both arms around her and stuck his tongue out at Leah. Matt saw him and he pulled Leah onto his lap so she was straddling and they made out that they were kissing. Leah pushed Matt onto his back they made all the right noises and reactions as if they were making out. Matt then rolled Leah over.
“MATTHEW MOORE
HARDY!!! GET YOUR HANDS OF MY SISTER!!!!” Colleen shouted at him. She was
laughing and so was Jeff. Leah and Matt finally gave in and cracked up laughing.
Matt finally got up of Leah and pulled her so she was sitting up.
