PERFECT STRANGERS

Starring Halle Berry, Bruce Willis, and Giovanni Ribisi,

A woman (Halle Berry) goes undercover at an Ad Agency Owned by Harrison (Bruce Willis) to investigate a friend's murder.

I was forced to watch this one, the story was really that bad it could have been a little better but what do you expect. It has lots of twist and turns, and don’t worry if you miss anything they do a lot of recaps. Especially towards the end

If you have nothing else to watch, check this one out

DISTURBIA

Starring Shia LeBeouf, Carrie Ann-Moss, Sarah Roemer, David Morse, and directed by D.J Caruso

After his father's death, Kale(Shia LeBeouf) becomes sullen, withdrawn, and troubled -- so much so that he finds himself under a court-ordered sentence of house arrest. His mother, Julie (Carrie Ann-Moss), works night and day to support herself and her son, only to be met with indifference and lethargy. The walls of his house begin to close in on Kale. He becomes a voyeur as his interests turn outside the windows of his suburban home towards those of his neighbors, one of which Kale begins to suspect is a serial killer. But, are his suspicions merely the product of cabin fever and his overactive imagination?

This was a good remake of Alfred Hitchcock’s “Rear Window” starring Jimmy Stewart. Except its done in modern times with a young cast. You should go and watch this one

300

Based on Frank Miller's graphic novel, "300" concerns the 480 B.C. Battle of Thermopylae, where the King of Sparta led his army against the advancing Persians; the battle is said to have inspired all of Greece to band together against the Persians

Wow what can I say; this movie had all the fighting violence I could ask for.
Beginning was a little similar to how “Alexander” started. But that’s just the background story, but when the fighting started it was non stop.

You have to make some time for this one this weekend. Some girls won’t really like all the violence but those that do, u won’t be disappointed. The CGI graphics were what made this movie even better.

I’m out

THE HOST

The Host A.K.A Gwoemul, is as South Korean Made movie based in South Korean. Story is about a Fish like monster that is created in the Hans River from years of chemical dumping. This creature kills and adducts people, taking the live ones to his sewer lair. It also revolves around a family that is trying to rescue the youngest daughter, which was captured by the monster.

It’s almost like watching the American made Godzilla but actually worth watching. The story is good, the acting not bad, special effects not bad also.

If you have some time I really hope that you go and check this one out.

WILD HOGS

Starring Tim Allen, Martin Lawrence, John Travolta, William H. Macy, and Marisa Tomei.

A group of suburban bikers who are at a point in the life’s where they feel old. Decided to go on a cross country trip from Cincinnati to Los Angeles in a effort to feel young again. But they get more then they bargain for when they encounter a vicious biker gang that hates suburban bikers.

Wow how did they get all 4 of these has-been actors all in one movie? Maybe they owe Disney some favors. Okay so this wasn’t that bad, I still wouldn’t watch it again. It has some jokes here and there but not enough for me to really enjoy it. But they picked the right case for this movie, seeing as they are not all big stars anymore. They seem to have better on screen chemistry.

This one is probably going to be #1 for the weekend, go and watch if you want other wise there’s still that other movie coming out next weekend 300.

Starring Jim Carrey, Virginia Madsen.
Directed By Joel Schumacher

A man becomes obsessed with a book that appears to resemble his life and makes the number 23 pop up everywhere in his life. He starts to realize things about his life and who he really is.

I was expecting a lot from what the trailer showed me. It was an okay movie, there is a part in the movie where it pretty much sums up the whole story.

Check it out if you want. Its not that bad of a movie

BRIDGE TO TERABITHIA

Story is based on the book of the same title, by Katherine Paterson. It’s about 2 kids who in order to escape their crazy lives, create a whole new world.

Ok I know that was a very short summary but I cant really go into much detail without giving the story away. I really did enjoy it, even though its aimed towards kids. I enjoyed it. And you will too.

Go and check it out. You’ll enjoy it.

GHOST RIDER

Starring Nicolas Cage, Eva Mendes, Peter Fonda, and Wes Bentley.

Straight from the comic books, based from the Marvel Comics character of Johnny Blaze, who makes a deal with the devil in order to save the one he loves. Which makes him the devils personal soul collectors known as Ghost Rider, and the only person who can stop Blackheart from taking over the world with all the condemned souls.

Ok, where do I start on this one. 1st off this movie was made 2 years ago, its been sitting on the shelves that long. The studio knew how bad this movie was. How do cast someone like Nicolas Cage for the role of the Ghost Rider he is like ancient in age and looks. The script was awful, the special effects where pretty bad too. You can on some parts really tell that it was filmed in front of a green screen.

If you really don’t have anything to do I guess you can watch it. Just don’t be expecting a lot from it.

HANNIBAL RISING

Starring Aaron Thomas as Hannibal, Helena Lia Tachovska, Richard Leaf, Michele Wade, and Li Gong.
Directed by Peter Webb, based on the Novel and screenplay by Thomas Harris.

This is the prequel to all the Hannibal movies. It shows you how he became who he is. They talk about his family and baby sister and how he survived WWII. You also meet his
Uncles’ wife who takes him in and takes care of him.

Ok so the story was ok, especially since the novel and the screenplay were both written
Almost at the same time and in a short time. I guess he really wanted to get the book and screenplay out.

People have asked if Anthony Hopkins makes an appearance because of the poster. Since this is a prequel to all the Hannibals. He doesn’t you’ll have to see the movie in order to understand why he has the mask in the poster.

If you really liked Silence of the Lambs, don’t expect too much from this movie.

The Messenger

Starring Kristen Stewart, Dylan McDermott, Penelope Ann Miller, and John Corbett

Story is about a family who fallin on hard times moves to a rural farming town, to an old spooky house with a hidden pass. In this house the daughters (stewart) starts sense weird things while her little brother sees things that others cant.

This is almost similiar to the Grudge movies. Sprits of the dead coming back for revenge. Its really not that big of a scary movies. The director has to use Loud Noises to get people to jump in the theaters, not really much suspenseful scaryness. I really miss the scary movies from the 80's where they were actually rated R not this crappy rated PG13. I miss the girl by the lake about to get killed. Well thats just my opinion.

If your really dont have much to see, watch this otherwise go and rent The Grudge.

NORBIT

Starring Eddie Murphy,Thandie Newton, Terry Crews, Cuba Gooding Jr, Eddie Griffin, Katt Williams, and Marlon Wayans.

Story is about a man who grows up in a orphanage where he meets the love of his life, but when she gets adopted, she leaves him alone. He meets a big girl who protects him. Makes him part of her family. They even get married. But then his childhood friend comes back to town, so now he must choose this monstrous woman of a wife or his true childhood love.

When I was watching this I was like didn't they already make a similiar movie called the Klumps. He used the same fat suit. The comedy was there, a little more toward the adult side. So its not really a good movie for kids. THis so far is the only comedy thats out for right now, at least intil Ghost Rider comes out..haha.

Go and check this one out.

Ok so this pretty much all the other spoof movies where they make fun of all the recent movies. "Just like Not Another Teen Movie" "Date Movie" and all the Scary Movies.

This one is ok some jokes your like WTF but then again when arent you with jokes...

The story revolves around the same characters from "The Lion, the witch and the Wardbrobe". But the poke fun at Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Pirates of the Carribean, Xmen, Nacho Libre, Da Vinci Code, Snakes on Plane.

THE HITCHER

Starring Sean Bean, Sophia Bush, and Zachary Knighton

Well welcome to the wonderful world of movie remakes. This like many of the previous movies recently release is a remake from the 70’s. Story is a about a couple who on a spring break road trip to Arizona. While on the Road they encounter John Ryder aka The Hitcher. He gives you a good reason why not to pick up hitchhikers.

Ok so the movie was really short about 90 minutes. The story was stupid hitchhiker on the rampage sort of movie people getting killed. There is an awesome chase scene where car crash and all.

If you really like scary movies this one is ok for you. You’ll jump especially since the director likes to use load noises to make you jump.

LETTERS FROM IWA JIMA

Starring Ken Wanatabe, directed by Clint Eastwood and produced by Stephen Speilburg

Story tells you what happened on the Japanese side of the war during the Battle of Iwa Jima. Just like how Flags of our Fathers told about the American side. This one tell you the opposite. Who lived their, who was in charge, and what their strategy was.

Even thought the whole movie was subtitled thus making me read it really wasn’t that bad. I’ve been waiting for this one to come out so I could watch it. It was better than Flags of our Fathers. It even made you kind of root for the Japanese to win.

The movie is about 135 minutes. Has lots of killing and its graphic about it. Not shying away. I think that you should really go and check this one out. It will be worth your while. Trust.

STOMP THE YARD

Starring Columbus Short, Megan Good, Ne-Yo, Chris Brown, and Harry Lennix.

Story is about young men who after a dance battle in L.A. he and his crew are jumped and his brother is killed. His mother decides to send him to his aunt’s house in Georgia and has him enroll in College. There he finds a new love and a new passion to dance again.

Ok this is pretty much, YOU GOT SERVED, DRUMLINE, STEP UP, and TAKE THE LEAD. All rolled into one movie. The dancing (when there was dancing wasn’t that bad). Story was like any of the movie mention above. Young Black man needing to get away dances away. What I’m saying it’s your typical dancing movie.

It seemed a little long for me, running time is about 120 minutes. If you enjoyed other dancing movies check this one out. Just don’t be expecting award winning acting.

I’m out

ALPHA DOG

Starring Bruce Willis, Matthew Barry, Emile Hursh, Justin Timberlake, Sharon Stone, and Ben Foster

The story is based on the life of Jesse James Hollywood, a drug dealer who became one of the youngest men ever to be on the FBI's most wanted list.

Its pretty much a reenactment of what supposedly happened. It starts out as an interview and everyone being asked what happened. At least what they say happened. Emile Hursh (Johnny Truelove aka Jesse James Hollywood) Kidnaps the younger brother of one of his debt beat friends who owes him a lot money, holding the brother as sort of like a marker. What seem like a good idea starts to sink in, that’s when they realize that they could be facing life for kidnapping. So they must think of a way to get out of their current situation no matter what it takes.

It wasn’t that bad of a movie. They did a good job on the trailer, since it makes this movie seem soo good that you have to see it. A lot of valley white boy gangster dialogue. Could have really done without the captions every time somebody was introduced, but it did help and telling who was who in the movie, since there were so many characters that were being introduced. You’ll see what I’m talking about if you see the movie. Timberlake’s character was the only that really the better writing for and not bad acting on his part.

Its rated R for language, nudity, and drug usage. It has a runtime of 135minutes with previews.
