VAN WILDER 2: THE RISE OF TAJ

Starring
Kal Penn as Taj, Lauren Cohan as Charlotte Higginson, Daniel Percival as Pipp Everett, Glen Barry as Seamus, Anthony Cozens as Gethin, Steven Rathman as Simon, and Holly Davidson as Sadie

Taj, Van Wilder's assistant in the first film, heads out on his own and heads to England's prestigious Camden University to further his studies. Along the way, he adopts a group of misfits and shows the uptight student body how to get Wilder!

Wow considering how Good the original Van Wilder was, this barely even matchs up to it. Seriouly National Lampoon has really lost its funny. Not like the old classics.

IF you really like the original, give this one a chance. Without Van Wilder in the movie Taj has to work real hard to make this movie a success...

BLOOD DIAMOND

Starring Leonardo Dicrapio, Djimon Hounsou, and Jennifer Connelly. Directed by Edward Zmick, who last The Last Samurai, but he is well know for Glory (1989).

Set against the backdrop of civil war and chaos in 1990's Sierra Leone, Blood Diamond is the story of Danny Archer (Leonardo DiCaprio) - a South African mercenary - and Solomon Vandy (Djimon Hounsou) - a Mende fisherman. Both men are African, but their histories as different as any can be, until their fates become joined in a common quest to recover a rare pink diamond that can transform their lives. While in prison for smuggling, Archer learns that Solomon - who was taken from his family and forced to work in the diamond fields - has found and hidden the extraordinary rough stone. With the help of Maddy Bowen (Jennifer Connelly), an American journalist whose idealism is tempered by a deepening connection with Archer, the two men embark on a trek through rebel territory, a journey that could save Solomon's family and give Archer the second chance he thought he would never have.

I watched it the other night I have barely been on myspace to post it up.

I like this movie, there action was good, writting kept me awake. Not up there with "The Departed by close enough.
The running time on this movie is about 2h30min so you better go to the bathroom before hand.

Have some time this weekend check this one out.

DEJA VU

Starring Denzel Washington, Val Kilmer, James Caviezel

Everyone has experienced the unsettling mystery of deja vu--that flash of memory when you meet someone new you feel you've known all your life or recognize a place even though you've never been there before. But what if the feelings were actually warnings sent from the past or clues to the future? It is deja vu that unexpectedly guides ATF agent Doug Carlin through an investigation into a shattering crime. Called in to recover evidence after a bomb sets off a cataclysmic explosion on a New Orleans Ferry, Carlin is about to discover that what most people believe "is only in their heads" is actually something far more powerful--and will lead him on a mind-bending race to save hundreds of innocent people.

I thought this one was going to be a weird movie, but it wasnt that bad. This one came out last wednesday but if you have a chance go and check this one out.

TENACIOUS D

Starring Jack Black, Kyle Gass, Dave Grohl, Ben Stiller, Tim Robbins, and Meat Loaf.

The story is about two guys who form what they call the greatest rock band in the world...aka Tenacious D. But they realize that they are missing something. By accident they figured that the other great bands, like van halen, and the who had the same guitar pick. Which they find out is housed in the Rock-n-Roll museum. Now they must figure a way to get it.

I watched it last night. The music was freakin awesome but the story was ok, could have been better, especially since this movie was made a couple of years go. Yup the studio had this one on the shelves.

If your into rock, like the music of Tenacious D Check this one out. A lot of the Jokes where from their CD.

Its also ERNESTO approved.

LETS GO TO PRISON

Starring Dax Shepard, Will Arnett, Chi McBride, and David Koechner.

When the son of a judge and a man the judge has sentenced to prison end up incarcerated together, the criminal decides to take the naive young man under his wing and school him in the ways of corruption and thievery.

The funny parts are in the trailer above. But the story is not that bad. The beginning is funny, they show you all the mug shots of celebs who have been sent to jail. You'll be surprise on some of them.

Cant Watch happy Feet, or Casino Royale. Give this on a chance.

CASINO ROYALE

Starring Daniel Craig, Eva Green (Dreamers fame), and Judi Dench.

Casino Royale introduces James Bond before he holds his license to kill. But Bond is no less dangerous, and with two professional assassinations in quick succession, he is elevated to '00' status. Bond's first 007 mission takes him to Madagascar where he is to spy on a terrorist, Mollaka. Not everything goes to plan and Bond decides to investigate, independently of MI6, in order to track down the rest of the terrorist cell. Following a lead to the Bahamas, he encounters Dimitrios and his girlfriend, Solange. He learns that Dimitrios is involved with Le Chiffre, banker to the world's terrorist organizations. Secret Service intelligence reveals that Le Chiffre is planning to raise money in a high-stakes poker game in Montenegro at Le Casino Royale. MI6 assigns 007 to play against him, knowing that if Le Chiffre loses, it will destroy his organization. 'M' places Bond under the watchful eye of the beguiling Vesper Lynd. At first skeptical of what value Vesper can provide, Bond's interest in her deepens as they brave danger together and even torture at the hands of Le Chiffre. In Montenegro, Bond allies himself with Mathis MI6's local field agent, and Felix Leiter who is representing the interests of the CIA. The marathon game proceeds with dirty tricks and violence, raising the stakes beyond blood money and reaching a terrifying climax.

Beggining was pretty good lots of action and stunts. Then the story started to drag a bit. Then it became a love story. Finally a Bond film.

This new Bond compared to the previous ones was a little reckless. Previous Bonds where sueve.

The running time is about 2hr30min. But you don't really feel it.
The rating is PG13.

I recomend it.
Plus the new Spiderman 3 trailer plays before Royale starts.

HAPPY FEET

So I watch HAPPY FEET this weekend,
Starring Robin Williams, Hugh Jackman , Elijah Wood, Nicole Kidman, Britney Murphy, and Hugo Weaving.

Its about emperor penguins who can sing from their souls. But then there is one penguin that's born who can't sing like the rest of penguins, but instead he can tap dance.

Well this movie was freakin funny, atleast to me. You should really go check it out on friday when it comes out.

This is a musical comedy animation and the songs are classic rock and the dance routines are Broadway-theater clever and these songs and dances never stop throughout the film.

The voices for the characters are Hugh Jackman as Roddy, Kate Winslet as Rita, Ian McKellen as the Toad, Jean Reno as Le Frog.

I was laughing all thru this movie. Yeah i know its a kids movie but it look good, which it was. The sewer slugs made it real funny with their singing.

Sacha really does get into his character, never breakin, thus making it more believable.

This one was pretty funny. I was really Lauging Out Loud. There where some slow parts but it picked up quick again.

MARIE ANTOINETTE
Finally saw this one.

Starring Kirsten Dunst, Jason Schwartzman, Molly Shannon, and Rip Torn. Written and directed by Sofia Copola.

The story is about, acourse Marie Antoinette, who was married off to the Daphane of France who would later become King of France Louis XVI. Thus makin her Queen.

It shows you what happend during her 1st years, her struggles to have a heir to the throne. Her Spending, gambling. Thus making her the most hated of the Royal Family during the French Revolution.

They story is very accurate to what really publically happended, but private life. Well i believe is unknown.

I sort of liked it. It kinda dragged for a bit. They focus too much on little things. But all in all it was not bad. Sofia Coppola tells the story with crazy music.

Gots some time, like history. Check this one out.

SAW 3
Saw 3 what can i say another sequel.

Starring Tobin Bell as Jigsaw, and Shwnee Smith as Amanda (the girl that helps out Jigsaw). Two other actors from the 1st and 2nd one Dina Meyer and Donnie Walberg.

This movie is about the same character from the previous 2 Saws' John a.k.a Jigsaw Who goes back to doing what he does best and that "helping people realized the wrongs they have done, and that they have been given a second chance if only they could escape whatever contraption they are stuck in. This is still a continuation of the last 2 Saws', but this time Jigsaw has serious health problems, so his apprentice Amanda kidnappeds a doctor who can help him survive.

IMBD PLOT SUMMARY:
Jigsaw has disappeared. Now aided by his new apprentice Amanda (Shawnee Smith), the puppet-master behind the cruel, intricate games that have terrified a community and baffled police has once again eluded capture and vanished. While city detectives scramble to locate him, Dr. Lynn Denlon (Bahar Soomekh) is unaware that she is about to become the latest pawn on his vicious chessboard. One night, after finishing a shift at her hospital, Lynn is kidnapped by the deranged Amanda and taken to an abandoned warehouse where she meets Jigsaw, aka: John Kramer (Tobin Bell), who's now bedridden and on the verge of death. Lynn is told that she must keep the madman alive for as long as it takes Jeff (Angus Macfayden), another of his victims, to complete a game of his own. Racing against the ticking clock of Jigsaw's own heartbeat, Lynn and Jeff struggle to make it through each of their vicious tests, unaware that Jigsaw and Amanda have a much bigger plan for both of them...

There are a lot of flashback to part 1 and 2. They explain a lot of the things that you didnt see. Which i thought wa pretty cool.
If you have some time this weekend i suggest that you check this one out. But be warned that this movie is Rated R and its NOT FOR THE WEAK OF STOMACH There were some scenes where i wanted to close my eyes.

FLAGS OF OUR FATHERS
This movie stars, Ryan Phillippe, Joseph Cross, Jesse Bradford, Robert Patrick, Paul Walker, and Adam Beach. Directed by Clint Eastwood.

The story is about the 7 men who raised U.S flag at the battle of Iwo Jima, during WWII. The photo that was taken immortalized them. But only 3 that raised the flag would survive to tell the story. So the U.S government decides to used them as the poster childs of the War. Parading them around in order for the American people to buy War Bonds. They did this knowing that they knew the truth.

Ok so the beginning was pretty cool, war, people getting shot at. Body parts flyin everywhere. Then since this movie is a drama. Well I dont have to give you the definiton of a Drama. I was falling asleep. Eastwood did a lot of flashbacks. It all takes place in 3 different time period. The soilders flashbacks of Iwo Jima, them during their War Bond Tours, and in present time when one of the survivors was telling the story to one of the sons of Ryan Phillippe's charactor.

If your into dramas, like Eastwoods movies. Check this one out. Its the same style as Million Dollar Baby.
Also like his other movies this ones long. About 2hr 25 with preview.

Thats all

MAN OF THE YEAR
Had some time today, so i decided to watch this one.

This one star Robin Williams, Christorpher Walken, Laura Linney, Lewis Black, and Jeff Goldblum. Also directed by Barry Levinson.

Story is about a comedy (Williams) who is so popular in the Talk show circuit. That he is asked to run for President of the United States. He thinks its a good idea and goes for it. Never expecting to win. At the same time a computer company creates a program that should eliminate the hassle of voting by computerizing it.

Ok so the beginning was funny, specially when Williams was doing his stand up routine. Half way thru. It started getting boring, but then it got somewhat funny. Then boring.

What I'm tryin to say is that as long as Robin Williams was doing his stand up routines this was a good movie but when he wasn't a little boring

Want a good laugh check this one out. But don't be expecting a whole lot. Especially since this movie is almost 2hrs long.

THE MARINE
Just watched The Marine.
Starring John Cena and Robert Patrick.

Its about a marine who gets discharged after not following orders. Now he must live a regular life. Life outside isnt just what he wanted.
So when he and his wife take a vacation. They encounter some jewel thieves lead by Robert Patrick. They take Johns wife hostage, now he must get her back. At all cost.

Well this was an OK movie. The Action was great but the script kinda sucked. Could have been a whole lot better, but what do you expect. This movie was made in 2004. lots of scipt changes and scenes reshot.

Want an action movie this weekend Try this one. Otherwise stay home like i am since im a little sick..

GRUDGE 2
The Grudge 2 starring Sarah Michelle Geller and Amber Tamblyn, Also directed by the Takasi Shimizu, who directed the Original Japanese version "Ju-On"

This is the continuation of the original movie, starring Sarah Michelle Geller. She is now in the Hospital and her sister (Amber) must help bring her back home. But things start happening and and she gets exposed to what her sister was exposed to. Then other people start to get exposed and start to die.
sfigure out the movie. First I thought that i put the movie together in the wrong order but then toward the end things started to go into place. Still a little confusing. Didnt know if it was in real time or was it one of those remember sequences. Most of the Characters Never interacted with one another. It was like there was 3 different movies going on. At the same time.

There were some scary scenes where i kinda of jumped. but that creepy boy and girl popping up was getting old.

If your really bored and have nothing to do. Go ahead and watch this movie otherwise Avoid it.

THE DEPARTED
I actually had some time to watch "The Departed" last night.

It stars Leonardo DiCarpio, Jack Nickleson, Matin Sheen, Mark Walberg, and Matt Damon. Directed by Martin Scorsese.
So you already know its going to be long...about 2hr30min long.

This movie is about two guys who work for two sides of the law. One is a mole for a known Irish Mobster, and the other is an undercover with the Irish Mobster. Both are trying to figure each other out. At the same time people around them are getting killed.

I thought it was pretty good, for the length of the movie I was like really into.

You have some time really check this one out. Trust me you wont be disappointed.
