Quidditch
Quidditch has to be the best sport in the world. Oliver, Harry, and Cedric all together in one area, what more could a girl ask for? (other than Josh Hartnett or Heath Ledger)
Balls:
Quaffle: A red ball that is about the size of a basketball. Chasers pass them around the field and use them to scores 10 points.
Bludger: Black ball, smaller than a quaffle. Two are used in each game. They try to knock players off their brooms, while beaters try to keep them away.
Snitch: A walnut-sized, golden ball that has wings and flies around the field at fast speeds. Seekers try to catch this ball to end the game and win 150 points.
Other Equipment:
Brooms: Players fly around the field on these.
Robes: The uniforms of the Quidditch players.
Clubs: Used by the Beaters to hit Bludgers away from their team and at the opposing team.
The Field:
A very large, circular field with three high golden posts on each end.
The Players:
Chaser - There are three chasers on each team. They pass the ball back and forth to each other, trying to score a goal.
Beater - There are two Beaters on a team. They use clubs to hit Bludgers toward the other team.
Keeper - Guards the goal posts. One on each team.
Seeker - Catches the Golden Snitch, one per team.
The Rules:
The Chasers try and score points by passing the Quaffle. Each goal is ten points. At the same time, the beaters must try and dismount members of the other team by hitting the Bludgers at them. The Seeker must keep his eyes open at all times. Once the snitch is caught, the team that got it is rewarded 150 points and the game ends.
