It was not the fact
that Aragorn had yelled at him. Nor was it the words that were said.
It was the fear.
The fear in Aragorn's
voice that made Legolas stop.
And then the ranger
was gone, pushing through the crowd, disappearing from view. Legolas could not
let him go. Despite Gimli's urging, the
elf followed.
Sweaty bodies,
radiating terror and confusion, pressed against him, but still he pushed
through, desperately searching...
When came to a place
without people, he stopped.
Aragorn was there.
And as a hand reached
out and pulled him close, Legolas knew.
All was forgiven.
