Cat Rescue

Why Rescue?

I looked at all the caged animals in the shelter...
the cast-offs of human society.
I saw in their eyes
love and hope, fear and dread, sadness, and betrayal.
And I was angry.

"God," I said, "this is terrible!
Why don't you do something?"

God was silent for a moment, and then spoke softly,
"I have done something," was the reply.
"I created you."

-- Author Jim Willis 1999

As a breeder, I am sometimes concerned about bringing even more kitties into this world when there are so many homeless "living and dying" in shelters. I continue to breed with the rationale that there are those people that for their specific reasons want a pedigreed Siamese kitten and if I didn't provide them with one, someone else would. So I continue to enjoy breeding and showing according to the breed standard.

I regularly donate to my local shelter and bring them supplies as needed but I am hesitant to bring home rescues because we live in a small house and I would not be able to follow proper isolation requirements to keep my other kitties safe. However, I've always wanted to do more and then one day I came across Patti Andrews Norwegian Forest Cat website with a devoted page to rescue. As much as I would like to take credit for this wonderful idea, I must give credit to Patti and thank her for giving me an opportunity to help even more. Thank you Patti!

If you are visiting my website because you are wanting to adopt a Siamese kitten or cat, consider this:

--Go to your local shelter--It will hurt, it will make you cry, and you will feel pain--but go anyway--Check out the adult cats who are looking...pleading for a home--Search your heart and soul and adopt an adult cat--

An adult cat has the least chance of all in finding a home as most people prefer kittens. Anyone can get a rude, ungrateful, curtain climbing kitten. It takes experience to know the joy of adopting an adult cat. They know what life can be, they know rejection and pain. So when they are adopted and given a chance, they are grateful. Given a chance at life in your home, they will give you joy untold. Trust me, you will not regret the miracle of saving a life!

If after all this, you still want one of my loud mouthed, demanding, sweet tempered Siamese kittens or cats, I will give you this deal. If you read this page and go to a shelter and adopt an "adult" cat I will reduce the price of your kitten from us by $50.00. If you adopt an "adult" from the Siamese Rescue Center I will reduce the price of your kitten by $75.00 Or if you give a donation to your local shelter I will match that donation up to $50.00 in a reduction of price on the kitten you purchase. You will have to provide me with a receipt. I will not pressure you and mention this page to you. You will have to bring it up in the conversation.

I have asked Patti if anybody has ever taken her deal and adopted an adult cat and she replied "yes". So I just hope and pray that by making this offer I can make the difference for even just one adult shelter cat.
