Machu

Welcome to Machu. Actually this is the view you see as you leave Machu, the enterance side of the gate offers a message in Chinese.

I was only in Machu for two days, but it seemed like they were tearing the entire city down, brick by brick, using nothing but their own muscles. Everywhere I looked things were under construction or deconstruction, most often the later.

A Machu storefront, a woman on the outskirts of town doing the laundry and a monk, smiling at me from a pile of rubble.

Machu has city officials, business men, politicians, etc. just like any town and for once, I actually took a photo of one of them! |
People really do wear these glasses! They are made from glass, not plastic and are quite heavy. Ground by hand, of course.
