701. EXPECTATIONS OF AN NCO:
The following is a list of the expectations of a leader. NCOs shall follow these expectations to maintain a high standard of leadership in the unit. All NCOs are expected to:
- 1. Lead by setting a good personal example
- 2. Know your Cadets and look after their welfare
- 3. Develop qualities of leadership in your Cadets
- 4. Make sound and timely decisions
- 5. Train your Cadets to work as a team
- 6. Communicate your ideas and thoughts clearly
- 7. Keep you Cadets informed of all events
- 8. Take good personal initiatives
- 9. Know your strengths and weaknesses
- 10. Treat your Cadets as you would like to be treated yourself
- 11. Never give an order that you would not do yourself
- 12. Maintain a high level of moral and esprit-de corps at all times
702. RESPONSIBILITIES OF OFFICERS AND NCOs:
OFFICERS:
- 1. An officer is primarily involved with squadron training and related activities.
- 2. An officer pays attention to the squadron's standard of performance.
- 3. An officer concentrates on training for everyone so the squadron has well trained Cadets at every level.
- 4. An officer creates the conditions and makes the time and resources available so that NCOs can do their job.
NCOs:
- 1. An NCO concentrates on the individual Cadet and how the Cadet responds to training.
- 2. An NCO concentrates on developing teamwork so everyone achieves the standard together.
- 3. An NCO concentrates on the standards of performance, training and development of smaller groups of Cadets.
- 4. An NCO gets the job done.
