Aten

This page is about Aten. Now, few facts are known of Aten, even though Akhenaten proclaimed it the one and only god of his riegn. However, Tutmosis IV carried the god's image on his shield and Amenhotep III raised it's status for more importance.

Some of you may wonder then, why a monothiest deity is on a polythiest page and religion. Well, I've been wanting to add Aten to my pantheon, and on endless research, I found a way.

Aten was not just a solar diety, but also a moon deity. It is both male and female, and is found both in the air and reflects off the ground. It is a deity of image and reflections. To put it in metaphorical terms, it is the being that you show outside and the reflections of yourself hidden inside. Aten was a god of mirrors, making great sense of the "mirror image" portrayals of the royal family.

The diety, if recognized by others in Tameress is the only deity with no match, for it is its own match. It is a hermaphroditic deity and therefore is a representation and reflection of equality to itself.

More will be coming soon. Thank you for taking the time.
