Chapter four
Guardian
Nicolaus entered the room alone as Aarie closed the door behind him. The Baron’s son greeted him at the door.
“Sir,
Dania has informed me of what happened. I
thank you in place of my father. Is
she well? I’ve been so caught up
in my father’s work.”
“Aarie
assures me that she is well.” Nicolaus
responded. The Baron’s so looked
uneasy.
“Yes
Aarie…” Nicolaus looked at him questioningly.
“Aarie is a strange one. She
makes almost anyone who comes near here uneasy.” He sighed.
“But she is Ori’s best friend. We
all love Ori, that’s why we put up with Aarie.”
He held out a hand. “But
enough of that…my name is Michael.” Nicolaus took his hand.
“Nicolaus
Ereghn.” Michael walked over to the two chairs that were in front of the
fireplace. He motioned for Nicolaus
to join him. They both sat down.
Michael stared at the fireplace.
“What
is you disposition toward Ori?” Nicolaus looked at Michael a bit surprised.
“I
have none toward her. I have only
just met her.” Michael nodded.
“You
just risked you life to save a young girl of whom you did not know?”
“There
was no risk Sir they were just thugs.” Nicolaus
looked at Michael for a minute understanding what he was hinting at.
“Well…”
the men stood up. “Nicolaus
Ereghn it was a pleasure to meet you and we are in debt to you for saving my
dear sister.” Nicolaus nodded.
