WHY A SORORITY?

As with every sorority the essence of the organization is sisterhood. We are already sisters in Christ, a sorority is simply a way by which we can bring all sisters together in a common pupose of serving God and ministering to one another.

WHAT OUTLINING THEME DOES LAMBDA OMICRON CHI COME FROM?

The Bible, . This ministry functions as a means to unite women who earnestly want to seek and follow the Lord Jesus Christ. We endeavour to be excellent women of virtue as we try to build our communities and eachother spiritually, physically, emotionally, mentaly, and financially.

WHAT DOES THE DOVE IN LOX SYMBOLIZE?

Before Jesus began His ministry years He was baptized in the Jordan River by John the Baptist. The Holy Spirit descended as a dove as God spoke the words, "This is my beloved Son..." Throughout time, the dove has symbolized the power, comfort and ministry of the Holy Spirit, inspiring believers and encouraging their faith. The dove is also the universal symbol of peace. When the dove returned to the ark bearing an olive branch, Noah knew that peace and calm once again reigned over the earth. The dove reminds us of the freshness and newness of life with God.

IS THERE PLEDGING?

Yes. Even though any and everybody is free to minister and be ministered to we are looking for women of God who want to be part of a spiritual army that will do the things that no else wants to do. The pledging process is not to exclude anybody, but is in place to find those truly dedicated to serving God and working, without faint, for Him. The pledge process tends to focus on community projects, learning more about the organization, how to become a more effective minister, and showing thyself to be a workmen of the Lord.

IS THERE HAZING?

No. That would not be in the spirit of God. There is no surprises and no hazing in Lambda Omicron Chi. We do, however, have simple requirements to view the pledges level of dedication and relationship with God.

IS L.O.X. A BLACK SORORITY?

NO! Lambda Omicron Chi is not a black sorority. As of now we only have black members, however we are praying that the Lord Jesus Christ send us women of all races to labour in his vineyard.

WHAT DOES LAMBDA OMICRON CHI STAND FOR?

Lambda Omicron Chi are greek letters that we use to represent us being Ladies of the Cross.

WHAT ARE THE SORORITIES COLORS?

The Sororities official colors are azure blue and white

HOW MANY CHAPTERS DO YOU HAVE?

We currently have two chapters: Old Dominion University, Norfolk VA(Alpha) and Norfolk State University, Norfolk VA(Beta.) We are however, looking to charter chapters on other campuses. Email us to find out how to bring L.O.X. to your campus.

WHAT IS YOUR OPINION ON NON-CHRISTIAN SORORITIES?

Christian sororities and non christian sororities are for the most part the same. They both are founded on the premise of sisterhood and community service. Christian sororities choose to serve the spiritual needs of the community, while other sororities sevice other essential needs of the community. Though the focus may be different, everyone has their place.

DO YOU HAVE A BROTHER ORGANIZATION?

Yes. The Lord has blessed us with a mighty group of valor filled men of God collectively known as Mu Omicron Gamma Christian Fraternity Inc. (M.O.G.) They currently have one chapter at Old Dominion University in Norfolk VA (Alpha). They are however looking to grow as the Lord sees fit. WHAT OTHER KINDS OF THINGS DOES LAMBDA OMICRON CHI DO?

Lambda Omicron Chi Inc. Is not all work and no play. In addition to ministry outreach, we often spend time hanging out, playing sports , going out to eat, and holding praise parties, and fellowshiping with our bruhs of M.O.G.
