~Erin’s point of view~
“That was the greatest movie ever!” I said on the way home from seeing ‘Shrek.’
“Yeah, but it wasn’t totally appropriate for little kids to be watching,” Brian pointed out.
“No. Like the little song, although it was funny.”
“Which one?” he asked. “Robin Hood in the woods?”
“No. The information booth. ‘Welcome to Duloc, this is the perfect town. We have some rules let us lay them down… please stay off of the grass, shine your shoes, wipe your…face! Duloc is, Duloc is, Duloc is the perfect place!”
“Pretty good impression,” Brian noted, laughing. “I didn’t know that a single film could butcher so many Disney movies.”
“New record,” we pulled up to the house and went inside.
“We miss anything?” Brian asked Howie, who hadn’t moved from his spot on the couch.
“Lou called. There’s a message on the answering machine.”
“Why didn’t anyone answer it?”
Howie shrugged.
“Who’s here?” the house seemed pretty quiet.
“Amy and AJ are still on the beach. Heather and Nick joined them. Tracy went to the store to buy some drinks. Jen’s still upstairs. Kevin’s playing pool in the game room. And we’re here,” Howie listed it off.
“I should call Lou back,” Brian said.
“Oh, do it later,” I pleaded. “Your on vacation after all.”
“Alright,” we went to the kitchen.
“In fact… what do you say to us having a nice, romantic dinner alone?” I wrapped my arms around his neck.
“Dinner? Great! I’m starved!” AJ came in.
“Cool, where we going?” Heather asked, as everyone else followed.
“Well, there goes that,” Brian whispered to me.
“Give us five minutes to get changed,” Amy said. They were all soaking wet wearing their bathing suits.
“Hurry up,” Brian said. “We’re leaving soon, with or without you.”
They headed upstairs, leaving puddles of water in the kitchen.
“Better without them,” Brian added. “Well, I guess I will call Lou.”
“Yeah. We should’ve gone straight to dinner.”
