Chapter 56

~Erin’s point of view~

I woke up the next morning exhausted from not getting enough sleep. Brian was in the kitchen eating breakfast. Kevin was with him.
I came in, not knowing what to say to Kevin.
“Don’t tell me your mad at me, too. But if so, join the club. Everyone else already has,” he said bitterly.
“I don’t hate you…” I began. “Your not my favorite person in the world right now, but I don’t hate you. Did you talk to Tracy last night?”
Kevin nodded.
“And?”
“And if I went out and jumped off a cliff right now, she’d be at the bottom leaping for joy.”
“Well, just give her some time…”
“She told me it was through. End of story.”
“I’m sorry… uh, where is everyone?”
“AJ and Amy at some point reunited and are at the beach, Tracy went to town, Howie went with her, and Jennifer, Heather, and Nick are still asleep,” Brian replied.

I sat next to Brian at the table.
“These last few days we all have together are gonna be pretty interesting.”

The front door opened and Howie and Tracy came in.
“Where have you guys been?” I asked.
“We went to get breakfast.”
“Look, Tracy…” Kevin began.
“Erin, would you please tell Kevin that I am not speaking to him.”
“Fine,” he stormed out of the room.
“Tracy, shouldn’t you at least try to work things out?” Brian wondered.
“No.”
“Howie, have you talked to Jen?” Erin asked.
“Not yet.”
“Are you guys gonna try to work things out?”
“I don’t know yet…” he began.
“I’m going outside with AJ and Amy… I can’t stand being in the same house as Kevin,” Tracy went outside.
Howie grabbed a bottle of water and went to the living room to watch TV.
“Do you want to go see a movie? I personally am sick of being here with all the fighting.”
“You read my mind!” I told him. “Let’s go.”

~Nick’s point of view~
“Do you think we should dare go downstairs yet?” I asked Heather.
“We have to sometime… come on…”
I followed her down the steps. “Hey, D.”
“Hi.” He barely looked up from the TV screen, although it didn’t seem like he was even really watching that.
“Is Brian around?”
“No, him and Erin just left to see a movie.”

‘Man. He was supposed to fill me in on all the crap that happened last night,’ I thought to myself.
“Are you okay? What happened last night?” Heather asked him.
“You might want to ask Jen,” Howie said.
“Where is she?”
“I think she’s still asleep, but I don’t know.”
“K, thanks,” Heather went back upstairs.
“Do you want to go somewhere?” I offered. “We can talk… or not… or whatever.”
“Nah, I think I’m just gonna keep watching this.”
“Howie, are you aware your watching My Little Ponies?”
He blinked a few times. “Uh…umm...yeah! You got a problem with that?”
I put up my hands. “No, no. Whatever.”
