~Kevin's point of view~
I found Jennifer in the living room, watching 'In A Heartbeat' on TV.
"Hi," I announced my presence.
"Oh, hi," she said and then there was an awkward silence.
"Umm... what happened the other day?" I asked finally. "I mean... we kissed. And niether of us are single." I sat down a safe distance away from her on the couch.
She twisted her ring around nervously. "I don't know," she admitted.
"Look, as I said, I really like you. But I also really like Tracy and... I don't know," I put my head in my hands.
"I... I mean, before the whole... uh, bathroom incident, I only considered you as a friend. But since then..." she trailed off. "What are we going to do?"
"I don't really know for sure how I feel about you. And I don't want to lose Tracy," I told her.
She nodded, "I don't want to lose Howie."
"But..." I began.
"We'll never know unless we try type deal," she finished my sentence for me. "But that means me losing Howie and you losing Tracy. Think of how they'd feel if we told them we wanted to take a break with him to try a relationship with each other?"
I paused for a moment. "And then if it didn't work out then we'd have no one and would've hurt both of them. Well... then let's try it without them knowing it." I couldn't think of any other option.
"What?"
"Well can you think of anything else? We can't just dismiss the possibility of us. And you said yourself we can't just ask them for a break. So what they don't know can't hurt them."
"Yeah, I guess your right."
"So you want to have dinner tomorrow night? I'll figure out something to tell everyone else. And there'll be so many people in this house with all of us here, we probably won't even be missed."
"Sure, but it'll have to be out of town. We can't risk Howie or Tracy seeing us," Jennifer agreed.
"Our first date," I smiled, and we kissed again.
~Brian's point of view~
"You cheated!" I complained.
"What? Nuh-uh!" Nick countered.
"So you just happened to hit my arm when I was about to cross the finish line before you?"
"It was an accident! I swear!"
"Liar. I'm getting a drink, you want anything?"
"Yeah. Soft drink. Whatever's in the fridge," Nick replied.
I headed downstairs. I heard some voices in the living room. I saw Kev and Jen.
"So you want to have dinner tomorrow night? I'll figure out something to tell everyone else. And there'll be so many people in this house with all of us here, we probably won't even be missed."
"Sure, but it'll have to be out of town. We can't risk Howie or Tracy seeing us," Jennifer agreed to Kevin.
"Our first date," he smiled, and then they were kissing.
I froze. They were cheating on Howie and Tracy with each other? It couldn't be! I grabbed two Cokes and quickly retreated upstairs. They didn't even know I'd been there.
I paused once upstairs. Maybe there was some sort of misunderstanding. They were going to dinner tomorrow night, I'd have to see for myself what they were up to.
