“Wow! You can see the whole city from up here!” I exclaimed. We had gone to the roof of the hotel.
“I’m exhaused! They tell us at midnight we have to be up at 6 the next morning! Unbelievable!” Brian muttered.
“Yeah, that’s gotta suck.” I agreed.
“4 weeks. This summer has gone by so fast!” he said.
“You could not be more right.”
“This would be an awesome spot for a picnic. Saw it on a movie once,” Brian said.
“Table cloth,” I said, pulling a tissue out of my pocket and setting it down on the railing.
“Food,” Brian joined it, pulling out a piece of gum. I laughed. He took his hand in mine, and we just looked out on the city for awhile. The streets were nearly empty at this hour.
“You know what? Do you realize we’ve been going out for over two weeks and we haven’t been on a date?” he asked.
“Wow, your right.”
“Want to go out to dinner tomorrow night? I think it’s about time we had our first date.”
“I’d love to. But what about Saturday Night Live?” I asked.
“We can do it afterwards.”
I smiled. “Then you have yourself a date.”
He smiled back. “I love you. I just realized I haven’t said that in awhile either.
“I love you, too.” I met his gaze and we kissed under the moonlight. A moment later, “Come on, we have to wake up in 5 hours!”
“Ugh, don’t remind me.”
