Chapter 28

An hour later, we were still in Brian’s room playing Super Nintendo.
I yawned. “Okay, that’s enough videogames for me.”
“Yeah, ditto. Want to go out?” he asked. “I feel like cruising the town.”
“Sure, but I get to drive.”
“Hey mom, we’re gonna drive around town, love you, bye.”

I walked over to the driver’s side of the jeep.
“I got shot gun!” Brian cried.
“Yo Bri, who are you competing with? There’s only two people!” I laughed.
“Uh..I knew that,” Brian blushed.
“I wonder if Heather will mind us driving her jeep so much.” I wondered.
“Where do you wanna go?” he asked.
“Mall? School? Doesn’t matter.”
“Umm…How about the school? I haven’t seen it since I moved.”
“Okay,” I said, taking a right.

We were gone all afternoon. First, we went to the school. Then we saw an afternoon movie. I could smell dinner as I walked in the front door.
“What’s for supper?” Brian asked, in his famous southern accent. “I’m starving!”
“I’m glad your hungry, it’s almost ready. We’re having chicken.”

Brian and I exchanged looks. “Umm.. I’m really not hungry anymore.”

We both started laughing.
“I thought you liked chicken,” Jackie asked, clueless.
“Well, I think I’m gonna become a vegitarian!…” Brian explained the story to her.

We ate dinner. They had chicken, Brian made us some macaroni and cheese (his favorite).
“Me and Harold are gonna play some basketball, wanna play?” he asked a little while later.
“No that’s okay. You need some family time without me.” I told him. “Have fun.”

I went up to the guestroom. Today had been great. I forgot how awesome it was to hang out with his family.

I glanced out the window at Brian and Harold playing b-ball. Brian had the ball and was going up for a lay-up, but tripped right before jumping up. Harold started laughing at him, and saw me in the window watching (and laughing even harder than him, might I add). He pointed me out to Brian, who's face turned bright red.

Definetely fun to hang out with this family.
