Chapter 24

~Tracy’s point of view~

We had just arrived at Kevin’s house a little earlier. His mom would be home in a little while.
“I love your cabin!” I commented. Any window you looked out of, you’d see a beautiful view of trees. Kevin went up to his room to get changed. When he came down, I caught a fit of laughter.
“What?” he asked.
“What are you wearing?” I asked between laughs.
“What’s wrong with my outfit?”
“Is it my imagination or is that skirt?”
“It’s an asian modeling outfit.” He defended himself.
“That may be what they call it in Asia, but here, we call it a skirt.”

Before he could respond, his mom walked it. “Hey sweetie!” Mrs. Richardson gave Kevin a hug.
“Hey, mom, how are you?” he asked her.
“Fine,” she answered, smirking at his outfit when he wasn’t looking.
“This is Tracy, my girlfriend.” Kevin introduced us.
“Hello! I’ve heard…nothing about you, to be honest, but I’m very glad to meet you.” She said.
“We’ve only been dating about a week.” Kevin explained.
“Well you two must be starved after travling all day, let me go fix supper.” Mrs. Richardson said, with a slight Kentucky accent.

She went to the kitchen. “I’m taking my bags up to my room.” I announced, grabbing the nearest suitcase.
“I’m so glad your coming to the photo shoot with us.” Kev gushed, helping me with another bag.
“Me, too.” I said, giving him a kiss. “Your mom’s really nice.” I added.
“Yeah, you two should probably get along.” He said.

We went back downstairs and helped his mom with dinner. After dinner, Kevin had went upstairs to take a shower. It was just me and his mom. After a moment of silence, she spoke.
“So, what do you think about his outfit?”
“Umm..it’s ‘interesting,’” I said.
“What was he thinking? It’s a skirt.”
“That’s what I asked! He said it was asian or something.”
“No, it’s a skirt.” She said, we were both laughing now. Kevin was right, I did get along with his mom just fine.
