Chapter 19

~Erin’s point of view~
“What do you guys want to do?” Amy asked, bored. Everyone except Tracy and Kevin (Who had gone out to eat) were sitting in the living room.
“Spin the bottle?” AJ asked, grinning at her.
“That game is overrated. Plus, don’t you think we’re a little old to be playing that?” Nick said.
“Well I don’t see you coming up with any bright ideas.” Amy shot back.
“You do whatever, I’m going to play video games.” Nick said. “I’m heading to the arcade. Anyone want to join?” he asked.
“Why not?” Heather shrugged, following him to the door. Jen and Howie went, too. Normally I'd never miss an opportunity to play video games, but I wanted to be by myself. Surprisingly, Brian didn't go either.
“Well, now that we have this place to ourselves…” AJ told Amy giving her a kiss.
“You think they want to be alone?” I asked Brian, sarcastically. He led the way to the porch. We walked down the path and onto the beach.
“The sun’s setting.” He observed, and glanced over the water. We sat on the sand.
“This has been an amazing two weeks! I still can’t believe Amy and AJ got us on that parasail.”
“Yeah, but it turned out pretty cool.” He replied.
“You know? You haven’t changed a bit since high school.” I told him.
“Is that good or bad?”
“Good.” I answered. “Are you going to write me this time?”
“Of course. I’ll try to write down the right address this time, too!” Brian laughed.
“I’ve got something to tell you.” I said, sort of quietly.
“What?”
I paused.“I love U…. SAir. I love USAir lines. That’s the planes your flying home in isn’t it?” I asked. He looked at me like I was an idiot. I had tried to tell him how I felt…. I had been so close.
“Um, yeah. I think so.” He said.

We watched the rest of the sunset.

~*~*~*~*~*

It was the day everyone was leaving. The guys had another week off, so they were going to visit their families. Amy, Heather, and Jen were going with Nick, Howie, and AJ to Florida. Tracy was going with Kevin to Kentucky. Brian was also going to Kentucky. I was going home alone. Then, the week after, everyone but me was going to a photo shoot.

Kevin and Tracy had caught an early plane, because Tracy wanted to go home first and pack. Brian had stayed to catch his plane later in the day. I had just finished packing my stuff in Heather’s car. I’d be the only one using it on the way back. We were all saying good-bye to the people we weren’t leaving with.
“Last chance.” Nick was telling me. “I really think you should take it!” He was referring to Brian.
“I tried the other day…besides, he likes Jen, not me...” I told him. “Have a safe trip! It was really great seeing you! Call anytime!” I gave him a hug.
“You, too. If you’d only tell B how good it was seeing him!” Nick laughed. “Bye.”
