~Erin’s point of view~
“I am so stupid!” I slapped myself in the forehead, after going up to my room. How could I think he liked me? Nick had probably told him I liked him already downstairs, no doubt.I heard a knock on the door. I didn’t even have to guess who it was.
“Can I come in?” Frick asked. I opened the door.
“Hey, what’s up?” I asked, with fake cheeriness, hoping he couldn’t tell the difference.
“Well I wanted to talk about what happened with Jen downstairs…”he began.
“Oh yea, sorry she said no! If it makes you feel any better, I didn’t know she was interested in Howie either.” I said, with true sincerety.
“Thanks. But, listen, when Nick told me someone used to like me, I automatically assumed it was Jen. I didn’t mean to hurt you or anything, had no idea it was you or...”
“Hurt me? What are you talking about?” I asked.
“Huh? Nick told me you were the one who really liked me…”
“When did Nick tell you that?” I asked, although I pretty much already knew.
“When we were at the arcade the day you’all went skating.”
“I hadn’t told him I liked you. He must’ve been misinformed.” I said simply, barely pulling off my skills as an actress and hiding my real emotions. I wasn’t lying though. I hadn’t told Nick I liked him at the time when they had went to the arcade.
“Oh okay.” He started to say something but then stopped.
~Brian’s point of view~
I was gonna tell her how relieved I was Jen had said no. I mean, as soon as I asked her out I realized how I hadn’t thought it through. I had started liking Erin, but when I found out Jen liked me and didn’t think Erin did,I figured I still had feelings for her from high school. I was wrong and it would’ve been unfair to Jen to go out with her. So I’m glad she’s with Howie, or I would've ended up hurting her anyway. And when Nick said Erin liked me, oh man. What an amazing feeling. Yeah, I was gonna tell her all that, but it was obvious she didn’t like me, so what was the point, right?
“Oh, okay. Sorry, I guess I didn’t have all the facts.” I broke out of my daydreaming.
“That’s okay.” She smiled. “Think it’ll be sunny tomorrow? I want to go to the beach again!”
“Yeah, I think so. Hopefully, anyway. Well, I’m going downstairs, you coming?”
“Oh, I’ll be down in a few, I just want to chill here for a little while."
“Yeah, see ya in awhile.”
“Oh, and can you ask Nick to come here real quick? I have to ask him something…uh, about Heather.” She added. I nodded.
“Yo Nick! Come here!” I called downstairs.
“Sup, Bri?” he asked.
“Erin wants to talk to you.”
“So how’d it go? Is she okay?” Nick wondered.
“Hey Nick, come here.” Erin interrupted, and pulled him inside. “Thanks Brian.” She said and quickly shut the door. ‘What was that about?’ I wondered.
