Keitaro is the male lead in Love Hina, it is pretty obvious considering the fact that he is the only male present in some episodes. He made a promise with a girl 15 years ago, whose name and face he can't seem to remember, to enrol into Tokyo University. Now, he tries hard to get into Tokyo University despite 2 consecutive years of failures.

He becomes the unlikely manager of Hinata Inn and attempts to take Tokyo University's entry examinations for the third time. Being a manager in a girls dormitory is certainly not easy, Keitaro is often beaten up by Naru for his pervert ways although it is usually a misunderstanding. As time pass by, the Hinata girls realise that Keitaro changed their lives both directly and indirectly and gives me more respect.

In the series, Naru, Mustumi, Shinobu, Motoko and Kanako seem to have more-than-friends type of relationship.
