Shinobu officially start appearing in the show in episode 2 of Love Hina. Shinobu is portrayed as an innocent and shy girl in the show. She addresses Naru and Keitaro as Sempai, which meant something like upperclassman in Japanese language. She has divorced parents and chose to stay in Hinata Inn. She then becomes best friends with Kaolla and goes to the same junior high school as her.

She has a crush on Keitaro in the show and gets upset when Keitaro and Naru are having intimate moments. She tends to be more reserved and cares a lot for other, especially Keitaro.

She seems to enjoy doing household chores and is the cook for Hinata Inn. There are a lot of scenes featuring her hanging the laundry. Like Keitaro, she is pretty good at drawing, enjoys drawing pictures of Keitaro and herself though.
