Chapter 25
They walked around and looked in shops. Kat found the bakery she told Nick about and they got wonderful pastries. As they were leaving the bakery, they ran into trouble. Two teenage girls walked up to them and asked for Nick’s autograph. He quietly signed their People magazine. Kat wander off to the side to window shop giving the girls a moment with Nick. They had behaved and not made a scene. Suddenly Kat was surround by three other girls, older than the two with Nick. They told her the Boys were theirs and she needed to stay the hell away from Nick. They also had a copy of People. She excused herself and walked back to where Nick was standing. One of the girls called her a slut. Nick heard the girl and started to say something, but Kat just pulled him away. They made their way back to the car and headed for the cabin. Kat turned on the radio and found a station in time to hear the DJ announce he had just received a call saying Nick Carter and his girlfriend were in town. At that moment, they realized their alone time was done. Nick turned around and headed back down to the rental office.
The owner was in and understood. He had to practically threaten his granddaughter and her friend to get them to stop screaming when they saw Nick. The girls had arrived that morning. Nick signed autographs and posed for pictures. The owner told them to go back to the cabin. He would take care of getting them booked on a flight to Orlando. Nick thanked him as he and Kat left the rental office.
Back at the cabin they packed everything up and loaded the rental car. They both made quick calls to their families to let them know what was happening. Kat was surprised when her father apologized for their earlier argument. Finally her mother had gotten through to him.
Within three hours Nick and Kat were settled into first class and on their way to Orlando. They had been able to make it back to the rental office then through the Knoxville Airport without being spotted. Upon landing they grabbed their bags then a cab. Kat had to admit when she saw Nick’s house it felt like coming home. She even had the house keys Nick had given her on her last visit. She unlocked the door as Nick paid the driver. She stepped inside and looked around. Suddenly she found herself lifted off the ground and into Nick’s arms.
“Nickolas what are you doing?”
“I’m taking you upstairs to make love for the first time in our room.”
“Our room,” questioned Kat.
“Yep. Now whenever you are here it’s our room,” replied Nick.
Kat didn’t know Nick was planning on asking her to move in with him. He wanted to wait and ask her later. For now he carried her up to their room and they made love. After they napped for a bit, Nick woke Kat up. He asked her to follow him.
“Nick where are we going?”
“You’ll see,” said Nick leading her into a spare room of the house. “Ta Da!”
Kat looked in and saw it had been turned into a dark room. She turned, saying, “Nick what have you done?”
“What? You don’t like it?”
“No I didn’t say that. I just don’t understand why.”
Nick pulled her in the room and onto his lap once he sat down in a chair.
“Katrina, I’ve been thinking. I love you and want to spend as much time with you as possible. I also don’t want to stop you from doing your photography. I was actually hoping you would move in with me,” finished Nick in a rush of words.
Kat looked into his blue eyes and said, “Nick that’s a big decision.”
Nick lowered his eyes so she couldn’t see the hurt as he spoke, “I understand. Well anytime you want to visit you can use this room.”
“Nick,” started Katrina lifting his chin to make him look into her eyes. “I didn’t say no. I just said it was a big decision. Can you give me a bit to think about it? I will give you an answer before the end of this week. Promise.”
“Fair enough,” sighed Nick.
“Now don’t pout. You’ve had a chance to think about this for awhile. I need that same time.”
“I understand. So…how do you like this,” Nick asked getting excited again. “I called Melissa and she gave me the name of the guy you get all your supplies from. I called him and he gave me a list of everything you need.”
Kat stood up and walked around the room. She was amazed that Nick had done this for her. She tried to not let him see her crying. It wasn’t that he spent all this money on her. She knew the expense. She had bought her equipment over a period of years. She also knew it would do no good to try and make Nick take it back. He wanted to do this for her. That’s what meant the world to her. He supported her dream. She realized Nick was standing beside her.
“Kat why are you crying?”
Kat grabbed Nick and kissed him. When the kiss ended she said, “Because I love you. Do you understand how much this all means to me? You doing this means to me?”
“Why wouldn’t I do this for you?”
“I need to explain something to you. Do you remember when I told that I bought all my own equipment?”
“Yeah.”
“Well what I didn’t tell you was I had to buy my own equipment. Dad tried to forbid me from doing photography. I was to be an accountant and work for his firm…period. I got a job working at McDonalds as soon as I got my driver’s license. I worked there in the afternoons and on weekends. I saved my money and bought my first camera. I still have it. Dad hit the roof when he found out I was working fast food. He finally relented and gave me a job at the firm, mainly to learn the business. He didn’t find out I was minoring in photography until my senior year at UK.”
“I bet he was really happy,” interjected Nick.
“Mother threatened to have the doctor make a house-call, because he was stroking, then like the other day she made him realize he needed to let me live my life. Of course on one condition, I give Dad one year of working for his firm and studying for the CPA Exam.”
“Are you a CPA?”
“Nope. I told him I was not wasting the money on the exam. The night you thought you’d seen a ghost is the night we argued about that decision.”
“I think I understand.”
“Well thank you for this.”
“You’re welcome. Kat you have that grin again.”
“I do, don’t I. This grin should be telling you that I want to thank you in a special way while also christening my darkroom so to speak.”
“That’s what it was sayin’ to me,” chuckled Nick.
Kat kissed Nick as she ran her hands over his bare chest. He had only thrown on his sweats to come down and show her the dark room. She had on his T-shirt. She pushed him away from her and pulled the T-shirt over her head. She was rewarded with a look of pure desire from Nick. She pulled down his sweats before pulling him to the floor. She had him stretch out on his back. She kissed him again, sucking on his tongue. She then trailed kiss across to his ear, tugging on his lobe, before moving to the other side. She moved down his chest, which was rising and falling faster. She sucked on each nipple before going to his belly button. She swirled her tongue in and around it. She moved lower still and inhaled his scent. She repositioned herself between his outstretched legs.
“Kitten what are you going to do,” asked Nick looking down his body at her.
She looked up and replied, “Baby what do you think I’m going to do? Why don’t you watch and tell me if you guessed correctly.”
Nick sucked in air as he watched her take his hardness in her hand and lower her mouth to it. She gently kissed the tip, before swirling her tongue around it. He watched himself disappear inch by inch into her mouth. He groaned as she pulled back. She stopped and looked at him.
“Nicky did you guess correctly,” she asked before descending again.
Nick threw his head back and panted, “yes…Oh Kitten…mmmmmmm.”
Kat began to move up and down on him. She cupped his balls and massaged them, causing Nick to groan louder. She used her teeth to light scrap up his hardness then over the tip. Nick thought his heart would explode. With every move of her mouth she was pushing him closer to climax. She felt Nick’s hands in her hair as his body tensed. She knew he was fighting to control himself. She merely continued what she was doing.
“Kat…Kitten…I’m….I’m…ummm…ooooooooooohhhhhhhhhhhhh!”
Nick’s words turned into a loud moan as he climaxed. Katrina didn’t stop until she was sure he was done. She sat up and looked at him. Nick looked completely spent and very happy.
“Mr. Carter I have just had my way with you,” she drawled.
Nick still panting said, “Yes you did. Wow! Come here.”
Nick pulled her on top of him and wrapped his arms around her. He kissed her softly on the nose then moved to her lips. After the kiss she lay her head on his chest.
“You called me Nicky,”
“Caught that did ya,” giggled Kat.
“Yes I did,” said Nick.
“Hey you call me Kitten. I think I should be allowed to call you Nicky in these moments.”
“Only in these moments.”
“Deal. Now let’s go fix dinner.”
They stood up and dressed. Nick followed Kat to the kitchen thinking that the end of the week would never get there fast enough. He just prayed she said yes.
Chapter 26
“It’s 3AM! Someone better be hurt,” grumbled Beth.
“No but something as important,” Kat said quietly.
“Katrina Morgan why are you calling me at this unholy hour?”
“Elizabeth Johnson I need my best friend.”
“Fine. What’s going on?”
“Nick asked me to move in with him.”
“I’m awake now,” said Beth as she sat up in bed.
“Thought that might do it,” chuckled Kat.
“OK Morgan spill it.”
Kat spent the next few minutes telling Beth about Gatlinburg, the dark room and everything. Beth sat and listened to her. When Kat finished there was silence.
“Beth don’t leave me hanging,” whined Kat.
“Kat do you love him?”
“Yes.”
“Do you want to spend as much time with him as possible?”
“Yes.”
“What is keeping you from saying yes?”
“I don’t know. What our parents will say? I don’t want to mooch off him. I want to have my own career and identity. I’m scared.”
“There is the real reason. The parents will accept the idea or at least get use to it. He is giving you a chance to build your career. He is supporting you in what you want to do. You can do the web pages from anywhere you can log on. I have no doubt that you will never loose your own identity. So you are scared.”
“And wise one what am I scared of?”
“Simple…love.”
“Love?”
“Yes smart ass love. Love is being committed, vulnerable, and all those things you don’t like to think about.”
“Yeah so what do I do.”
“What do you want to do? Close your eyes take a deep breath and say the first thing that comes to mind.”
Kat did as asked and said, “To be with Nick.”
“There ya go. See…that wasn’t so hard.”
“Stop laughing at me.”
“Can’t do it. Now where is Nick?”
“In bed.”
“Where are you?”
“The kitchen.”
“Say goodnight Beth and get in bed with that man. I will talk to you later.”
“Thanks Beth. Love ya.”
“Love you too. Now say it.”
“Goodnight Bitty.”
“Night Kitten.”
Kat hung up laughing. She should have known she would regret telling Beth Nick’s pet name for her. She walked down the hall to the bedroom. She sat propped up against the headboard watching Nick sleep. He was sprawled out on his stomach, the sheet just covering his bottom. It reminded her of the first time she had seen him asleep. The moonlight was streaming through the window. He looked amazing laying there dreaming. His hair was tousled and falling over his eyes. A smile played at his lips. He was having a good dream. She lightly ran her fingers through his soft hair then down his back. He skin was as soft as his hair. She traced his music notes on his shoulder. She pulled the sheet off him. He was magnificent. She knew she needed him right then. She caressed his butt then reached between his legs to massage him. He moaned and shifted, but didn’t wake up. Kat withdrew her hand and pulled the T-shirt she had put on when she went to call Beth over her head. She then leaned down and kissed his shoulder before whispering in his ear finally waking him. He turned to her and kissed her lips. He rolled them so he was on top of her. He felt her legs slid up on either side of his hips. He entered her and felt himself continue to harden. Kat tightened around him, urging him on. He kissed her then moved to her neck and down to her breast as he thrust into her. Kat arched against him as he took one of her nipples between his teeth and gently tugged. Nick increased the rhythm and Kat matched him. She ran her fingers down his back then grabbed his bottom while tightening her legs around him. They continued to move as one. A thin layer of sweat covered their bodies. Kats sighs and moans were all the encouragement Nick needed to continue thrusting into her. Kat felt Nick expanding inside her again signaling that his release was near. She asked him to go deeper. He complied and felt her spasm around him as her climax took her over the edge. Nick followed her calling out her name, before he collapsed on top of her. They lay like that for a few moments waiting for their hearts to slow. They both sighed as Nick pulled out of her and lay beside her. Kat made him turn over and she spooned up against his back. She wanted to have him in her arms and he understood. They drifted off to sleep.
They woke to the phone ringing. It was his mom checking on them. Kat lay with her head on Nick’s chest as she listened to him talk to him mom. His mom was happy, because she could hear how happy her son was. Jane knew that was due in large part to Katrina Morgan. She asked how Kat was and Nick handed the phone to Kat. Nick ran his fingers through her hair as he listened to her talk to his mother. Nothing had felt so right. Her being there with him was exactly the way it should be. Kat said goodbye and handed the phone back to Nick. Nick continued to talk to his mom for the next 15 minutes.
“Mom likes you,” said Nick as he hung up.
“I’m glad. I like her. I like your whole family,” replied Kat as she got up and headed for the door.
“Hey where are you going?”
“Downstairs for breakfast. You coming.”
“Yep,” said Nick as he got out of bed.
“You know it’s a good thing your mom likes me.”
“Why is that,” Nick said as he followed her into the hallway.
“It will make things easier when I move in here,” said Kat glancing over her shoulder.
Nick stopped in his tracks as it sunk in. Kat laughed and took off running. Nick recovered and ran after her. Kat ran into the kitchen. She fell down on the ground laughing. She looked a Nick standing in the doorway and laughed harder.
“What,” asked Nick.
Between giggles, Kat replied, “We are running through the house naked.”
Nick looked down then back at her and chuckled, “That’s one of the benefits of having a house.”
Nick sat down beside her and waited for her to get her giggles under control.
“OK, OK. I’m under control now.”
“Good. Katrina were you serious about moving in here.”
Kat sat up and caressed his cheek, saying, “Yeah Nick I was. If you want me here then you get me here.”
Nick grabbed Kat and kissed her. They looked in each other’s eyes.
“Yes Kitten I want you here always.”
“Then Nicky you have me. We need to do a couple of things though.”
“What?”
“We need to go tell our families. I think we need to do it in person.”
“OK. You make the flight arrangements. Let’s go to LA first. My family is not going to have a problem with it. Your family will. I was going to go pick up the puppies from the Kennel, but I will just wait until we get back.”
“OK what about the cost. I need to check on the cost of the tickets.”
“Katrina we need to get something else straight. I have the money to pay for the tickets. Hush. I want to do it. You will continue working and can contribute. I know you want to and I love that about you. However, you don’t have to worry about money. Now go make the flight arrangements and I will fix breakfast then we will call everyone and let them know we are visiting.”
“I love you Nick,” said Kat.
“I love you too,” answered Nick. “Now go.”
“OK,” said Kat.
Chapter 27
“You are what,” exclaimed Dana Morgan.
“Moving in with Nick,” replied a stunned Katrina.
“Katrina Michelle Morgan you are not going live with anyone!”
Kat was in shock. She had expected her father to go ballistic, but not her mother. However, there they all sat in the Morgan living room Kat, Nick, Dana, James, and Melissa. Nick and Kat had arrived that morning, but waited to tell her family until everyone was together.
“Dana,” started Nick.
“Tell me Nick,” interrupted Kat’s mother. “Just what do your parents think of this?”
“They are happy for us. They love Kat like their own daughter and know we love each other.”
“Humph,” replied Dana. “James don’t just sit there, tell them they can’t do this. Forbid them. Your good at that!”
James looked at the young couple in front of him. They were holding hands as if their lives depended on it. He then looked at his wife and said, “I’m sorry dear but I can’t.”
“What?”
“I can’t forbid them.”
“Really,” questioned Kat and Melissa in unison.
“No I can’t.”
Dana demanded, “Why in God’s name not?”
“Dana are you forgetting we lived together?”
Three pair of wide eyes shifted from father to mother. Dana’s checked flushed. Everyone was silent for a moment. The ticking of the mantle clock the only sound in the tension filled room.
“Dad are you serious? You and mom shacked up,” asked Melissa.
“Lissa! Where did you learn the term,” asked her father.
“Reruns of One Day at Time.”
“Well, don’t use it,” scolded James.
“Mother is it true,” asked Katrina.
“Now don’t you start calling me mother,” said an exasperated Dana. “Yes it is true.”
“Then case closed,” stated Katrina. “Nick and I have made this decision. We are going to pack up my stuff and drive my car back to Tampa. Lissa let’s go get boxes.”
“Wait!”
“What mom?”
“I need to ask something so everyone sit. All right, Nick you say you love my daughter?”
“With all my heart.”
“You are going to take care of her and protector her from the craziness around you?”
“Mom! I can take care of myself.”
“Dana I will protector her with my life.”
“Do you think you will marry someday?”
“I hope so. I can’t imagine Kat not being apart of my life, but we need more time before taking that step.”
“I hate it."
"What Mom," asked Kat, gearing up for battle.
"My babies are growing up. Go get your boxes. Some are in the storage building.”
Kat walked over and hugged her parents, “Thanks.”
After dinner, Nick helped Kat pack up and load the boxes in Kat’s 4Runner. After everyone went to bed the couple went out to the barn. Kat got a bridle and Nick followed her out to the field. After bridling Raven, they road to the waterfall. Kat had avoided thinking about missing her horse while she was gone. Riding the Arabian made her realize how much she had missed him. Nick watched her petting and talking to the horse. He walked up behind her, wrapping his arms around her waist. She rested her head against his chest. He rubbed Raven’s nose.
“I know you’ve missed her boy. She missed you too.”
“Yeah I did. Before you ask, I don’t regret being with you. I love you and with you is where I belong.”
“So you know me that well?”
“Yep.”
“Then you know what I’m going to do next?”
“Please don’t throw me in the water. It’s still cold.”
“No we will come back for a midnight swim when it’s warmer. Actually, I’m going to do this.”
Nick turned her to face him. The moonlight shined on her upturned face. Nick’s hair fell across his eyes. Kat pushed it out of the way. Nick lowered his lips to meet hers. The kiss started sweet, but grew in urgency. They were both breathless as the kiss ended.
“Man I want you so much,” whispered Nick.
“I know. Me too. I can’t believe we lasted this long,” replied Kat. “Of course not being left alone for moment in LA did help with the restraint.”
“It’s like Aaron and Angel knew what they were doing when the decided to make it a slumber party in our room.”
“They just wanted to be with you.”
“I know but I wanted to be with you. I want to be with you,” said Nick kissing Kat’s neck.
“Mmmm…well it’s too cold out here.”
“I know,” agreed Nick. “We are getting a hotel room on the way home.”
Kat laughed, “You don’t want to just pull over on the side of the road?”
“Hadn’t thought of that,” said Nick.
“We will do whatever you want, but let’s head back to the house.”
Once they were sitting on Raven, Nick groaned, “Kitten I’m dying here.”
“Nick we just need to make it back to the barn.”
“Why is that?”
“I don’t know…Warm barn, nice clean stall, a blanket to lay on,” teased Kat. “Nicky can you think of anything we could do in that setting?”
“Oh yeah baby. Let’s go,” said Nick.
Melissa was giggling at the site before her. She had gotten up early that morning. Luckily her parents were still asleep. She had noticed the barn door was open and went to investigate. Once in the barn, she noticed something hanging on the stall door at the back of the barn on the left. She reached the door and realized the object was a bra. She was greeted with the sight of her sister and Nick curled up together between two blankets on the straw, when she opened the stall door. Their clothes were thrown around the stall. Melissa slipped out of the barn. She went into the house and quietly pulled out sweat pants and shirts from Nick’s suitcase and her own drawer.
Clothes hitting them in the face awakened Nick and Kat. They looked up to see Melissa standing in the stall door.
“Morning,” said Melissa with a straight face.
“Morning,” responded Kat and Nick.
“So you two have fun last night?”
“Shut up Lissa,” grumbled Kat.
“Hey just be glad I found you and not mom or dad. So what did you do?”
Kat said, “We went for a ride then ended up here.”
“We didn’t mean to fall asleep,” added Nick.
“Duh,” giggled Melissa.
“Watch it,” warned Kat.
“I come in peace,” replied Lissa. “See I even brought you some clothes. You don’t want to come in wearing the same clothes you had on yesterday.”
“True. Thanks sis.”
“No problem. So I will leave y'all to get dressed. Do I need to be your look out?”
“Actually that would be great Lissa,” said Nick with a sly grin. “I’m just kidding you.”
“OK. See you inside.”
“Yeah,” replied Kat.
“I’m really glad she found us.”
Kat kissed Nick and said, “I’m really glad we had last night. Let’s get dressed.”
After dressing, putting the blankets way and their clothes in the car, they went inside. Kat’s mother greeted them. She was making breakfast. Kat’s father walked in the kitchen and pulled straw out of Kat’s hair causing her to blush. Nick covered by saying he taught Kat not to throw straw at him anymore. They all laughed and sat down to eat. After breakfast was cleared way, Kat and Nick went to visit the Wilson’s. The older couple was happy for them. They promised to visit the young couple in Florida before BSB finished their next album and Nick went back on tour.
Kat and Nick spent one more night with her family. The Wilson’s came over for dinner. It was a comfortable evening. Kat was amazed, because her father seemed to have mellowed. She hugged him before going to bed and sincerely thanked him for welcoming Nick into the family.
The couple spent the next three days being together. Kat was right about her ankle, it was fine the following morning. They spent time hiking. Kat took pictures. They played in the hot tub and even built a fire in the fireplace. They enjoyed having the time together. They finally ventured down into Gatlinburg on the third day.
