Hernandez Evangelist An Experience in the Soviet Union "The Way to God" The Soviet Union left its tracks as in Donetsk. In the Ukraine, a beautiful young mother stood with her teen-age daughter by her side and said, "Sir, we want to know God but we don't know the way to God. Can you help us? Of course, I immediately responded. It was as we presented a concert and message at their Fine Arts Building to art lovers. Although I immediately wanted to give her my response, I said, "Let me let the Master Himself answer and I took her to John 14:1-6 which says: "Let not your heart be troubled. You are trusting God, now trust in me. There are many homes up there where my Father live, and I am going to prepare them for your coming. When everything is ready, then I will come and get you, so that you can always be with me where I am. If this weren't so, I would tell you plainly. And you know where I am going and how to get there." "No, we don't, Thomas said, We haven't any idea where you are going, so how can we know the way? Jesus told him, I am the Way, yes, and the Truth and the Life. No one can get to the Father except by means of me" (The Living Bible) After I had finished trying to answer her question with the Word of God she responded in the affirmative and asked the Lord Jesus Christ into her life. What a smile it put on her face! And her teen-age daughter likewise responded as did some thirty others. Simply what I said was this: We Have a Great Problem We Have a Great Privilege We Have a Great Promise WE HAVE A GREAT PROBLEM That problem is a troubled heart. Without Christ we are empty. Someone said, "Our hearts were made to be inhabited by God and we will be empty until filled with God". The biggest problem in the world is not academic, economic, political, social, physical but it is the problem of the heart. Without Christ we are lost and doomed eternally.The Bible says, "For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God." Romans 3:23 WE HAVE A GREAT PRIVILEGE To believe in Christ as we say we believe in God has to be the greatest privilege man can have. God has the capacity to speak to man, man has the capacity to understand God. God has a message to deliver to man and man is under obligation to respond to that message from God. Belief in Christ changes the heart, mind, body, everything. What a privilege it is to ask the Lord Jesus Christ to enter our hearts. If you have not done this, you ought to try it. If you do what He said for you to do, He will do what He said He would do. WE HAVE A GREAT PROMISE To understand that we have a great problem is important, to know that we can have the great privilege of inter-communicating with the Creator is more important, but to surrender to Him in a confession of sin and invitation to Christ to come into the heart is most important, because He promises us a place in Heaven alongside Him when we die. He has gone to prepare a place for us...he lies not...he promises He will come again, and this time to receive us unto Himself that where He is there we may be also. WHAT A PRIVILEGE IT IS TO TRUST CHRIST. IF HE SAID IT, HE WILL DO IT. Hear it again: He said, "I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life, noone comes unto the Father except by me". Believe it. It is as if to say, "I am the Way, without me there is no going, I am the Truth, without me there is no knowing, I am the Life, without me there is no living. I trusted Him on May 26, 1938 and I can attest to the fact that He has not broken a promise and I don't expect Him to start now. When I discovered the Cyber Hiways I knew nothing about them. I simply believed what I was told...I made some mistakes, but I am here to tell you, it works. The same goes for my discovery of the Skyways. Someone told me Jesus loves me and died for me and that I could be forgiven and my way to heaven assured if I trusted Him and I did...and He did. The great problem led me to consider the great privilege and the great privilege led me to accept and rely upon the great promise of God.
