The Lord of the Thundercats Unplugged

Essay 4: The Animated Facial Expressions of a Leader

If you've looked at "A Pictorial Guide to Mumm-Ra the Ever-Living," you've noticed that Wiley Kat and I have a tendency to find good pictures of faces.
Lion-O is not an exception.  Though he is our leader, he's not immune to cameras in hidden places at unusual times.
Like hidden cameras on Beserker ships, or things like that.
You know what I just thought of?  We could use that as a great spy device.  But that would mean telling the others, wouldn't it?
We already are, Kat.
Good point, Kit.

When Lion-O tries to imitate our genius, he gets this really contemplative look on his face.
He makes a noble effort to be as clever as we are, but he just doesn't have the subtle edge that we do.
Although, our comments here are anything but subtle. It's okay.  Even subtle people need a break now and then.

This is Lion-O in the grasp of fear and terror.  He's probably looking at our latest prank involving the Thundertank and some of Tygra's lab chemicals.
Um, Kat?
Yeah?
That may be what he's looking at, but the other Thundercats haven't figured out who pulled that trick.
Panthro? Tygra? You guys are such great Thundercats.  You know how to take a joke.  Don't you?

Lion-O gets this expression a lot.  He usually gets it when confronting a morally inferior enemy.
He also gets it when we put glue in the Clawshield and he can't get the Sword out.
But we haven't done that since Slithe managed to sneak up on him while he was trying to pull the Sword loose.
We do learn from our mistakes.

More fear and terror from our fearless leader.
One good thing about Lion-O is that sometimes he admits that he used to be afraid.
But never in the middle of a crisis.  Only afterwards.
But with the advantages of hidden cameras, we can see his looks of fear and terror.
Just like this one.  I wonder where this picture came from.
I think you left your rollerskates on the Lair stairs again.
Oh yeah.  Good thing that Bengali and Panthro were at the foot of the stairs to catch him.

Hey, wait a minute!  How did this one get in here?
Aww, gee.  Sorry, Kat.  Forgot to tell you about this one.  Here is Lion-O with his hero-to-the-rescue look.  And look who he gets to rescue!
And who got me in trouble in the first place, Kit?
I don't know, Kat.  Who?
You mean you don't...why didn't you...wasn't it you who...oh, never mind.

And last, but certainly not least, here is Lion-O taken completely by surprise and totally shocked.
I like the eyebrows.
They're okay, I guess.
They look like yours.  Kind of bushy and out of control.  Actually, they're a pretty good judge of character.
WILEY KAT!!!
Oops...gotta run!
