After the Parade is the WBMUTBB Silent Auction
The Silent Auction was a big success again. The amount raised has gone up each year and after only 6 years of doing this the WBMUTBB chapter has made some $15,000 for the Surry Arts Council with this auction!
"THANK YOU" to everyone who donated and/or bought items and to those WBMUTBB members who spent part of their busy Mayberry Days Saturday working at the auction.
And for a worthy cause ..... WHAT worthy cause?
Put that back or give me a dollar and a quarter
Like I said Pa, this is mighty valuable stuff - should bring at least thirty-five cents
I ain't no Rockefeller
This guitar, autographed by TAGS stars, brought $600 in the auction!
It's imported .... from Richmond.
This and that ..... first one thing and then another
It comes to a dollar thirty-four. That's sixty cents for toothpaste.
twenty-nine cents for rubbing alcohol, forty-five cents for peroxide
Now that's unlawful assemblage in my book
You know, it probably ought to be on display some place,
like that Smith Brothers Institution in Washington, D.C.
Maggie, Rodney, Dean, Doug, Mitch, and Prof. Brower
Then it was time for Professor Brower's lecture.
This year he had Maggie Peterson and the Dillards as his guests.
Doug: "Between the black-eyed peas and the red-eyed gravy"~
That was followed by the annual meeting of TAGSRWC
