At Windemere, Bobbie recalls a bedroom scene in which she's kissing Stefan
and telling him she'll miss him. She looks a bit apprehensive. Stefan comes
downstairs and inquires what she's thinking about. They make small talk about
her trip and she wonders why he wants her to go, saying that she herself
questions her judgement and can't understand why he would trust her to pick out
software.
Luke and Lucky in the alley commiserating over the latest letter from the
girls. Lucky isn't quite sure that keeping an eye on the Cassadine's is worth
being away from his Mom and baby sister. Luke makes a very convincing argument
that he knows he can't change Bobbie's mind about Stefan, but that she'll come
around eventually and he wants to be there the next time "She smells
smoke".
Bobbie is now playing around with the laptop under Stefan's watchful eye.
She's confused by the terminology and Stefan points out that this is precisely
why she's the right person to choose the new software package. Bobbie says she
can't figure out why he is with her, that he should be with someone bright and
sophisticated, witty, etc. A strange crashing noise is heard in the hall.
Startled by the noise, Bobbie apparently hit a wrong key on the computer and
while Stefan heads out to investigate the noise, Katherine's resume appears on
the screen. Stefan returns to Bobbie at the table saying the noise was a platter
dropping. Bobbie tells him that something strange happened on the computer and
some file she didn't recognize appeared, so she shut down the computer. He sends
her up to bed, saying he wants to stay up to check doors and windows.
Back to the alley where Luke asks Lucky if he understands why it's important
for Luke to be in Port Charles. Lucky reluctantly says he does, but that he
still hates to be away from Laura and LesleyLu. But he doesn't see why they
"have to be so grim about it". Luke suggests they head to the Club for
a bite to eat, challenges him to a race, winner gets $10. Luke comes stumbling
breathlessly through the door, Lucky close behind, saying he only lost because
Luke tripped him. Mike complains to Luke that the place is dead, they need some
entertainment so Luke gives Lucky some $$ and tells him it's an advance on his
salary for the position of booking agent for Luke's.
Felicia gives Luke a chilly reception, responding to his questions about
where Tom is "I assumed he was with you". Luke sits down with Mac to
tell him that Taggert is a rogue cop and he should look into it. Mac tells Luke
he'll look into the Taggert thing and Luke also reminds him to keep him posted
on the fire investigation. Lucky rushes up with a list of talent he wants to
book among them U2, besides B.B. King.
At Windemere, Alexis is doing paperwork when Nik staggers out from his 3 hour
exams. All his course work is OK except for calculus. Alexis doesn't want to
know. Mr. Richards and Mlle deVivier said Nik's test scores were excellent. Ned
comes in. Alexis introduces the two men, and Nik leaves with Alexis' advice to
"go do something fun." While Alexis was trying to locate her cousin,
Luke stepped off the elevator and made a beeline to do some taunting of his own.
Alexis and Luke engaged in a little verbal footsie. She asked Luke about his big
bad guns. "You wanna search me," Luke asked. "C'mon," he
held his arms out. "You kind of like me." Alexis tried her hardest not
to to think him cute, then pulled out her own artillery. When her attempt at
ball busting glanced off him, she scurried away. When Alexis demanded to know
what Luke was doing at the hospital he loaded announced "I need you. You're
the warm, fuzzy Cassadine, the one I can tolerate. I knew that the first minute
you coldcocked me." More sparring ensued. Luke: "My wife's out of
town..." Alexis: "I don't do laundry." They taunted each other
some more before Tony stepped in, when Luke spoke in some secret code to Tony
about having the handball court reserved for the afternoon. Tony had no idea
what Luke was speaking about, but inquired for Katherine's whereabouts. Amy
announced that Bobbie was on the phone, looking for her husband. Tony was about
to speculate about something naughty going on but before he could voice a
suspicion Luke veered the conversation away. Alexis bailed, and the men left.
Luke and Tony are discussing Bobbie in the hallway and Carly overhears Tony
hoping Stefan isn't hurting Bobbie like he did. Tony is surprised and happy to
see Carly. She's brought him a present. The phone rings, and Luke asks about
Virginia. He warns Carly to stick to the truth wherever possible. He leaves.
Alexis is raving to Stefan about the hospital and Luke. She's sure he's the
one behind all the bad news the hospital has had of late. Stefan denies this but
Alexis says "He wouldn't be the first person to be distracted when his wife
is out of town." Stefan gives her a hard look.
Nik is doing Tai Chi on the pier, and Lucky comes up. "Tai Chi,
right?" "No, it's basketball, what do you want?" "To get
away from you as soon as possible." Lucky has a letter from Lesley. Nik
wants to hear how well Lesley is doing. He wants to know if she's mentioned
Stefan. Lucky leaves, and instead of reading the letter Nik tosses it on the
ground and tries to go back to Tai Chi. The mood is broken, and he goes for a
swim instead. Then he calls Alexis looking for Stefan. They agree to do dinner,
and then Nik goes looking for Katherine.
At the bar, Lucky comes in and he and Luke talk about Nik taking the bait.
Then Luke tells Lucky about Emily's overdose. Lucky goes to phone the hospital
and Carly comes in. She reports to Luke, who gives her money. At first she won't
take it, but eventually she does. She leaves, Lucky leaves, and Alexis comes in
and tells Luke it has to stop. He must stop harrassing Nik. Luke wants to know
why she's telling him this instead of Stefan. He thinks they should be
proactive.
Katherine meets Stefan at a moonlight swimming pool. Candles are lit all
around the pool. Stefan takes her in his arms and tells her that twilight is his
favorite time. Meanwhile Nik is calling around trying to locate Kat and Stefan.
At his club, Luke tangles with Alexis. She requests that he and Lucky stop
jerking Nikolas' emotions around with all these supposed letters from his
grandmother. Luke tries hard to goad her into losing her cool and starts
speculating on Stefan and Katherine's romantic interests. Alexis has just about
whittled him down to a toothpick. He continues on about the supposed romance
between Katherine and Stefan. Alexis gets tired of getting nowhere and preprares
to leave. She reiterates her request that Luke and Lucky lay off Nik. Nik meets
Alexis at the boat dock on Spoon island. He's waiting for Stefan to return. He
voices his suspicions about Stefan's attentions towards Ms. Bell but Alexis says
Stefan is away on business. Nik is worried about Bobbie and believes that Stefan
married Bobbie for the wrong reasons. Alexis tells him that Stefan will not
renege on his commitments. She tells him that he (Nik) is the reason that she
can now say that the family comes first with her. After spending many years
alone, apart from the family, she can be part of it again. She looks forward to
the day that Nik is in charge of the family. She tells him he can always count
on her. "I am not just your cousin. I am very much your friend."
Stefan appears on the dock to find Luke already there. Luke asks Stefan if he
enjoyed his swim with Tinkerbell. They exchange insults and Luke taunts Stefan
about being the "inept" Cassadine. He then delivers what must be the
line of the day: "Your family nearly froze the world and you can't find the
air conditioner." Stefan tells him there's nothing going on with Kat.
"Unlike you and Laura, my wife and I have no secrets." Luke tells him
he's making a pathetic ass of himself. He won't even have to tell Bobbie, she'll
soon figure out the truth. He then informs Stefan that Alexis came to see him.
"Now there is a competent woman...a formidable opponent...she has her eye
on the helm..." He then brings up Nik's shared attraction to
Katherine:"Don't you think you boys ought to splash around in a bigger gene
pool?" Nik is trying to buy sibling affection, Luke goes on, giving Lulu a
Faberge egg. Or didn't Stefan know? Did Stef want to give it to Blondie instead?
Stefan covers his surprise and insists the egg is worthless. "Since your
wife left you, Spencer, you're like a clown without a circus...you serve no
purpose." He gets on the cell phone to call security. Luke tells him not to
bother. "When my sister gets back, tell her hi." As Luke walks away,
he mutters under his breath "It ain't gonna be there, buddy." Later,
at the club, Luke makes a call. Laura picks up! On the table with her phone is
the Faberge egg. They talk sexy for a bit, then Luke tells her "I've
finally got Stefan on the run." Laura looks serious and worried. They
discuss the egg and the fact that Stefan now knows they have it. There seems to
be some sort of subtext going on, do they already know the secret the egg holds?
Luke says that Stefan will probably try to get the egg back the night of the big
concert and he will be ready for him. They discuss Lesley, who is in the room
and Lucky, and Laura's worries. They exchange sweet nothings. Later, Luke sits
with Felicia as she devours cheesecake. They talk about computers and Stefan's
expertise with them (this is during the begining of Felicia's stalker
storyline).
Meanwhile, back at the castle, Stefan is seriously pissed. He storms to the
wall safe, opens it, and takes out a faberge egg. He looks at it, then hurls it
against the wall where it smashes. At that moment, Bobbie walks through the
door. She surveys the damage and looks at Stefan in shock. Bobbie is appalled at
Stefan's outburst. Stefan yells at her and tells her to leave but she refuses.
He tries to regain control. Bobbie chides him for destroying a beautiful object
so he tells her that it was a fake, a decoy and that Nik took the original. Nik
comes in, he is delighted to see Bobbie. Stefan reams him. Stefan can't believe
he gave the egg to the enemy. He goes on and on. Bobbie is insulted by the way
he speaks of her family but he doesn't notice. Nik yells back and makes
allusions to Stefan's affair. Bobbie tries to referee and protect Nik, but they
both ask her to leave. Stefan keeps on berating Nik, but Nik starts questioning
him about Kat. This deflects Stefan. Nik accuses his uncle of being selfish,
materialistic, and rigid. Stefan has nothing to say, and Nik walks out.
Lesley and Laura discuss the egg, Nik and Luke. Laura then has a flashback of
Stefan threatening her with the knowledge of telling Luke that he (Stefan) maybe
Nik's father.
Stefan and Bobbie step off the elevator at GH. It was her first day back at
work since the convention. While Bobbie's pals were welcoming her back, Alexis
took the opportunity to draw Stefan aside and inform him that Nik was onto him
and Katherine. Stefan went her one futher, by relaying that the Spencers have
The Egg. Bobbie was talking with Tony when Jason passed out flyers for the
upcoming show at Luke's club. Stefan rejoined her and declined the invitation.
Bobbie teased him a little, saying "Bet you never go to concerts."
Stefan wasn't feeling humorous, and sniped "Contrary to popular opinion,
Barbara, I wasn't brought up in a mausoleum." Later, she took an
opportunity to ask him why the hissy fit over Nik giving Lesley Lu the egg.
After stealing a look at an entering Katherine, Stefan declined to explain, and
in not so many words, declared the topic dead. In the Steve Hardy library,
Bobbie comes in and quizzes Alexis about The Egg. When Alexis tried to give her
a runaround, Bobbie wasn't buying it - she wanted to know why her husband turned
into a maniac over the thing. Alexis offered up the idea of a Cassadine heirloom
hanging out on the Spencer kitchen table being enough to drive him insane, but
Bobbie still figured there had to be more to it than that, and left as Ned
entered. Alexis tells him that she still hasn't located Nik, and now Bobbie's
asking questions about the egg. With Luke's taunting still on his mind, he
commands Alexis to back off. "I will handle my wife," he says,
"and everything else from here on in. You've had too much responsibility
while I've been distracted. No more." Katherine wheels by the station; she
and Stefan share A Glance, she continues on her way, Stefan splits, Alexis
follows, and Bobbie looks on, pouting.
Sonny and Luke try to talk but they can't stop laughing. Sonny tells Luke
about Stefan and Katherine's midnight swim and that Bobbie is back at work. Luke
wants a ride to the hospital. At the hospital, Amy is giving Bobbie a gift from
Stefan. Luke comments on the diamonds and rubies suggesting they must be an
apology for something major. "Did he leave the coffin lid up? " Luke
suggests that Stefan's fangs have been stuck in Katherine Bell. Bobbie asks for
proof. She's no longer 10 years old and she doesn't have to be protected by her
big brother. He suggests she should stop being snowed by shiny stones. Bobbie
thinks about it.
Luke talks to the distant Laura about his baiting Stefan with the egg (he
figures Stefan will try to steal it back during the concert at Luke's); she says
be careful since all cornered rodents will bite. Luke and Laura chit-chat about
Stefan while Luke's Club fills up with the usual PC denizens there for the
"All For One Concert". Stefan takes his burglary tool pack out of the
drawer. Nikolas appears, and they argue about Stefan's roving eye. Stefan the
cat burglar breaks into Luke's house presumably looking for the egg (while Luke
is occupied at the club for the concert). Stefan lets himself into the house
with a key he finds left above the doorsill. He looks around inside and spots a
picture on the wall. Removing it, he finds a safe underneath. Though he cracks
it like a pro, he soon finds it is empty. He glances at letter left on the
table. It is addressed to Luke from Laura in Switzerland. He reads a bit of it.
"All my love, Laura. " Then he sees an enclosed photo of Lesley, Lulu
and the faberge egg. "Taken two weeks ago," he mutters. "How
charming, using Lesley Lu as the cheese." After Stefan leaves the house,
Luke emerges from behind a tree. He grins. Stefan informs Alexis that the egg is
in Switzerland. Alexis wonders why the Spencers didn't sell it, seeing how much
it is worth. Stef says they would never touch Cassadine money. He doesn't care
about the egg's value, only about what is inside it. It takes two medallions to
open it so that one person can't have the power to unleash such a "powerful
option", and Laura only has one medallion. Alexis suspects that the
Spencers planted the photo deliberately. Stef agrees it is a remote possibility,
but he nevertheless must retrieve the egg. His cousin warns him that Laura will
be there, waiting. "That is the source of my good cheer," Stef gloats.
"She may promise to do what Luke wants..but ultimately I will be the one
she obeys..." Alexis is incredulous. "Laura hates you..yet she will
betray her husband for a man she despises?" Stefan is smug and
self-assured. "Yes."
Sonny questions Lucky about Matt Reynolds. Lucky admits that he knew of Matt
and kids at school knew he was a dealer. Luke returns to the club, finds Lucky
and gives him a big hug. He then calls Laura and tells her "Be prepared.
Stefan took the bait." Laura looks serious and sad. She says "I know
what to do." Luke says "Make that move as soon as you see his mangy
little goatee." At the bar, Luke is giving Lucky and Sonny an update on
seeing Stefan at the Spencer house. Lucky asks his Dad what happens next, Luke
tells him they're just going to wait until Stefan blows it.
In Switzerland, Lesley is admiring the egg and says that it's hard to believe
such a beautiful little thing could hold something so dangerous. Alexis is
summoning the jet to take Stefan to Switzerland when he walks in and tells her
he is not going right away. He wants it to appear as though he's going to Europe
for business so as not to alarm Barbara. Alexis exits when Bobbie enters.
Noticing her cool mood, Stefan asks if something is bothering her. She tells him
it's just a patient that took a turn for the worst. He feeds her his little
cover story about investors that he needs to go meet in Europe at Alexis's
urging. Bobbie inquires if he plans to be traveling alone. She blows it off
saying she thought Alexis might be accompanying him. Nik comes downstairs,
saying he heard Bobbie's voice. He flashes back to his conversation earlier with
Katherine about she and Stefan. He tells Bobbie that he wants to help her, she
says she's just tired and goes up to bed. Nik lambastes Stefan saying he should
go with her. Stefan says that he and Nik need to talk, Nik leaves for bed.
Alexis comes back, Stefan says he's worried that Nik is worried about Bobbie
getting hurt. Stefan says that he must see to it that neither of them gets hurt.
At the bar Luke is telling Sonny and Lucky how he opened the egg. Flash to a
scene with Laura when they figured it out - Lesley comes downstairs and is
shocked to see Laura's medallion, says she thought it was hers. Lesley says she
found hers; and felt that it was important that no one else know she had it.
Luke praises her logic. Lesley gives him the medallion and he opens the egg.
Luke he figured it out based on something Felicia said. Namely, that he was
testing to see if he could break into main frames of large computer systems.
Luke says he is waiting for Stefan to go to Switzerland. Sonny asks how Luke
intends to fight a computer war. He defers Sonny to his son. Laura recalling her
threat to Stefan about telling Luke she slept with him. Lesley comes down and
see her upset, says she can't sleep if Laura can't. She encourages her daughter
to share her troubles. Laura says she's so afraid that she's going to wake up
and find that her mom being back and all right was all just a dream. Lesley says
it's her turn to be the Mother, she asks Laura what she's so scared of. Laura
says she's worried that Stefan will come after the egg and they won't have
enough to fight him off with. Leslie reminds her about all that she and Luke
have accomplished, and assures her that they can do anything they need to.
At Windemere, Bobbie comes to bed where Stefan is waiting for her. He begins
to kiss her neck, she looks worried. Stefan whispers that he can't believe she
"belongs" to him, then asks if that was the wrong thing to say. He
explains that he thinks he such a lucky man to get to touch her and hold her,
"if you still want me to". She tells him she's tired so he reaches
over her and turns out the light.
At GH, Tony waylays Luke. He tells Luke to leave Bobbie alone. "Do you
want her back, Tony?" Meanwhile, Nik goes to see Bobbie. "I know
you're unhappy and I know why." Nik has Bobbie's scarf, which he got at
Katherine's. He's worried about Bobbie. Bobbie tells him that Stefan is leaving
for Europe. Luke watches them talk. Nik later has a double flashback thinking
about thinking about the Faberge egg. Luke comes up to Bobbie and tells her the
good news about Lulu's blood test. He wants to plan a family dinner, but when it
turns out Stefan is en route to Europe, he begs off and phones Laura.
Stefan assures Alexis that his trip to Switzerland is simple. He orders her
to cancel her appointment and accompany him to the airport, where he demands her
Cassadine medallion. We learn about their importance to the family of never
taking it off. Stefan is only testing her loyalty to him and it will wait till
he returns.
In Switzerland, Laura answers a knock at the chalet door. It's Stefan! He
claims he's just on a scavanger hunt, and a Faberage egg is next on his list.
Luke strides in from another room; Stefan is surprised to find him there. Luke
starts to bait Stefan about the egg. Stefan says he's not leaving without it.
Luke grabs the egg and demands that Stefan tell him what's inside. Laura tells
Luke to give Stef the damned thing already! Luke threatens to destroy the egg
and darts outside onto the porch saying he'll throw it down a crevasse. He looks
up and Stef has drawn a gun. Laura demands that Luke give up the egg. Then Luke
whips out his own gun...stand off! There's a quick movement, Stefan bonks Luke
on the head with his gun and Spencer goes down like a sack of wet cement [he
faked it]. Stefan grabs the egg and Laura, crouching over Luke, snarls up at
Stefan. He replies that he saved her marriage, what more does she want?
Luke has been knocked out by Stefan and lies unconcious with Laura kneeling
near him. "Take your damn heirloom and get out!" Stefan warns her that
certain boundaries cannot be crossed. Stefan leaves with the egg and Luke wakes
up. Getting knocked out was not part of the plan, but everything else worked out
as the Spencers hoped. Luke plans to follow Stefan down the mountain to learn
his plans for the computer chip. Laura: "If I asked you to let him go,
would you? For me?" She tells Luke that she's afraid they'll push him too
far. Luke tells her Stefan is weak, now, and on the run. They can't let him get
away now. Stefan in running down the mountain path like his pants are on fire
and bashes into someone coming up the slope. He hurries away without looking
back as the mysterious pedestrian topples over the edge of the cliff. Luke comes
along the path and hears someone crying for help. The traveler is clinging to
the cliff and begs Luke to help him. Luke grabs his arm and tries to pull him
up. During this, the mysterious guy's knitted hat gets pulled off and Nik is
revealed! Nik asks "You sure you want to save the bastard's life?" For
half a second Luke looks like he's tempted to let the kid fall, but he pulls him
up to safety. He demands to know why Nik is here. Nik was worried about his
Grandmother and his sister, and wanted to make sure Stefan didn't hurt them.
Luke laughs contemptuously. "You telling me you schlepped all the way up
here to save my family?" Luke wants to know how Nik ended came a header
over the cliff. Nik flashes back to Stefan knocking him down, but just tells
Luke that the path was slippery, etc. Luke tells him hail and farewell, but Nik
insists on checking on Lesley and Lulu himself. Luke asks "What about the
woman between those two generations? Aren't you interested in her? What about
Laura, what about your mother?" On his private jet, Stefan fondles the egg.
Back at the ranch, Luke and the kid return to the chalet. Laura hears sounds and
calls from the other room: "Luke, are you back already?" She enters
the front room, and looks at Nik in surprise. Laura: (perplexed) 'What
happened?' Nik: 'Your husband (dramatic pause) saved my life.' Laura looks
grateful and relieved and Luke looks sheepish. Nik tells her what happened
except the part about being knocked down by Stefan, he says that he slipped.
Luke leaves to get Lesley and Lulu. Laura asks why he came. She tries to connect
with him but he's having none of it. Laura mildly points out that he propbably
feels something for her if he can get so angry at her. Nik denys it (angrily).
Laura's confused about how he slipped. Nik says he must just be clumsy. Lesley,
Luke and Lulu come in. Laura mouths her love and gratitude silently to Luke. Nik
plays with Lulu and promises her a real pony when she is older, lost in a
dreamland momentarily, he talks of teaching her how to ride when she visits. He
leaves after kissing both his grandmother and half-sister. Lesley and Lulu go
upstairs, and Luke speaks of phase two of the plan. Laura says that Nik visit
must change things. Luke says no, in fact maybe he came here to spy on them.
Laura says, if you really thought that you would have let him fall. Luke casts
around for a reason that won't make him look like a softy, he blusters, I saved
him for purely pratical reasons. Laura is skeptical and grateful, and Luke is
finding it hard to badmouth Nik. They look at each over with love and
commitment, and they kiss.
Nik calls Bobbie claiming he spent most of the night in the library and then
rushed back there first thing in the morning, he loves the place so much. Bobbie
wasn't buying it but Nik ducked off the phone. Alexis takes the opportunity to
explain to Bobbie the best way to deal with Cassadine men: act as though you
accept their lie, because they've probably got a good reason for doing it. In
walks Stefan. Bobbie: "How did it go? With the reseach foundation."
Stefan wraps up his research talk with Alexis. The minute she left, Bobbie
called him to the carpet on the real reason for the trip. Bobbie: "You went
there for that damn Faberge egg, didn't you?" Stefan came up with the usual
excuses that it's a family heirloom, a gift from the Tzar in our enemy's hands.
A gift from Nik to Leslie Lu, she pointed out, then let into him. Stefan relayed
that Luke was there also, and Bobbie inferred that if Stefan hadn't run into
Luke, she'd never have gotten the truth about this trek. Having enough, Bobbie
lays it down: "I will not be made a fool of. And I will not be lied to. And
when I ask you a direct question, I expect the answer to be true." Stefan
reaches into his bag and comes up with: "Being a Cassadine means having a
kind of pride that's almost like shame; it means assuming that to know me, to
know what I want, to know what I value, is to hate me." He talked of his
unworthiness. Then seduced her. Bobbie put aside her reservations to make love
with her husband. Next, we saw Stefan's medallion trickling its way along
Bobbie's arm and shoulder as they lay in bed. Stefan believed he pacified his
wife once again. But he didn't see her less than contented looking face. After
Bobbie left for the hospital, Stefan and Alexis got the egg out, were about to
insert their keys when Nik came in and wanted to know what they were up to. Nik
asks what's so improtant about the egg: "is there a map inside that tells
where all the bodies are buried?" He's furious. Stefan thinks a bout of Tai
Chi will calm him, so they go out to the drear forest with the owls hooting.
They're either doing Tai Chi or attempting to kill each other. It's apparent
that Nik hasn't been practicing, as Stefan almost instantly has him in a death
grip. Nik still doesn't tell about the cliff. Stefan lets go and tries to
establish contact with Nik, but Nik leaves to "find his peace" and
Stefan yells after him. Alexis hands Bobbie the mail. She opens the custody
papers that Carly stole from Justus' office and sent to her. Bobbie rants to Stefan
over the disparaging details about her in the suit papers. Stefan promises to
make sure Bobbie never loses her son even if it means breaking the law by
whisking them out of the country.
At Ruby's Diner, Luke enters and greets Lucky, who's clicking away at his
laptop. Their conversation revealed that Lucky is a WSB mole working on a
virtual LAN and Stefan's egg is holding a cloned version of the chip. Luke
shared his Cassadine adventure with his son, who reacted by saying: "You
WHAT? Am I missing something?" (obviously disappointed that his father
saved Nik's life). Luke announced his intention to pay a visit to Bobbie. Luke
tells Sonny about the computer chip in the egg and about rescuing Nik off the
cliff. Sonny wonders why and Luke theorizes that he gets sentimental at high
altitudes.
Alexis examines the custody suit papers and determines that they're very
damaging and that Bobbie could lose if this case were brought to court. Bobbie
is still furious, and refuses to back down when Alexis suggests that she just
drop the whole thing. After all, the suit was never filed. Stefan tries to
comfort Bobbie, saying that she's been "deceived by a master." Bobbie
replies: "It's not the first time. I'll get over it." And while Stefan
is deciding whether he is the pot or kettle,Nik walks in just as Bobbie vows to
fight back.
Tony chats with Luke while he waits to meet Justus. Tony beats him self up
over the custody suit, saying he should have never written anything down, while
Luke muses over who could have sent those papers to Bobbie. Tony, of course, has
no idea. Justus arrives and says that he has no idea how those papers got out of
his office, and suggests to Tony that he concentrate on who sent those papers
rather than beating himself up over the custody suit. They talk suspects: It
wasn't Justus' secretary but she did remember woman with "reddish
hair" that she let wait in Justus' office while she went to lunch. Luke
gets "the look": Maybe he knows who it is. Luke has decided it's the
Cassadines who could have stolen and sent those papers. After all Alexis has
"reddish"hair. Neither Tony nor Justus buy that. Justus points out
that Stefan had no way of knowing about the suit and that "Peg" (his
secretary) would have recognized her. Laura calls and Luke and they have a brief
conversation about Tony's problem. Lesley asks Laura what Lulu looked like when
she was born. Laura says she was beautiful. Then, Lesley asks about Nik, and
Laura says he was the most alert baby she'd ever seen. They go on to discuss how
someday it would be nice if Laura could have her whole family around her, but
Laura says that will never happen until the feud comes to an end. Lesley asks
Laura if she's afraid. Laura says she's afraid for them all. Stefan asks Nik to
join in this "family discussion". Nik asks Bobbie to speak with him in
private. After he leaves, Alexis flashesback and relives her conversation with
Nik where she reassured him that Stefan would never cheat on Bobbie. Stefan
starts to worry about her glazed look, and rouses her. They discuss how worried
they are about Nikolas. Nik defends Tony, saying he must like Bobbie, he saved
her from the fire, remember? He suggests dropping the whole thing, for Lucas'
sake, and Bobbie counters, saying he's grown up priveleged and sheltered, so
what the heck could he possibly know? Bobbie apologizes to Nik, and asks him to
trust her, she knows what she's doing... Alexis doesn't want to pursue the
custody paper thing. Stefan does. And so they will. End of conversation as Nik
walks in. Alexis leaves and Stefan says to Nik: "I have a surprize for
you." It's.. an EGG. It's another egg to present to Lulu and patch things
up between them. Nik reluctantly accepts his token. Stefan says that he always
has Nik's best interest at heart. Nik isn't so sure. Alexis, Stefan and Bobbie
are going to the hospital and they ask Nik if he wants to join them. As much fun
as their outing sounds, he resists. Nik calls Laura when they leave, but can't
bring himself to speak to her. Lesley asks if it was a wrong number. Laura
wonders.
Justus and Luke are still chatting about conspiracy theories, when Keesha
walks in and asks if her bracelet is in Luke's lost and found because the last
time she saw it was when "Carly asked me for Justus' business card at the
All 4 One concert." Luke realizes that Carly is the redhead. Bobbie
confronts Tony with custody suit papers of her own, she has Stefan with her for
support. She threatens to rake Tony over the coals and exploit his shacking up
with Carly. Stefan jumps into to say what a stable, loving, secure environment
he and Bobbie a prepared to provide. Are you? Tony asks and everyone glances
Kat's way.
Luke arrives at Carly's and outright accuses her of sending the custody
papers to Bobbie. Nope, Carly says, wasn't me, I wasn't looking to talk to
Justus, I was asking about his service for a friend, really. Luke kept the
pressure up, mentioning the reams of Carly's imaginary friends. When it was
pointed out that the papers were served to Bobbie on the anniversary of BJ's
death, she folded and gave a full confession. She swears she didn't know about
BJ. She tells him she did it to save what she has with Tony. She points out that
she is no different than Luke who would do anything to hold onto what he loves.
Luke agreed she's a Spencer through and through, but has no blood loyalty, and
expressed pity. Tony comes home and breaks the news about Bobbie's suit for
custody. Luke doesn't have the heart to tell him about Carly's part in it all.
Lucky arrives at the Q's, hoping to see Emily. Lila and Ned reminisce with
him about the poker game he won with Edward. Lila sends Lucky up to Em's room.
Monica asks Emily: "Were you doing drugs with your other friends up in this
room?" "In case you haven't noticed, I don't have any other
friends." Lucky comes in. They chat a bit about grape snowcones in the
desert, and go out for a walk. Monica goes downstairs and talks to Ned, who says
"We are through the worst part."
Luke catches up to Stefan and Bobbie at GH. Luke is sorry about the custody
stuff, Stefan is cynical, and Bobbie is furious. Luke asks "My sister all
nestled down in the belly of the beast... who did you lean on while Stefan and
Nikolas were in Switzerland on the Great Cassadine Egg Cookoff?" Stefan:
"What are you talking about? Nikolas had nothing to do with that."
"Oh, was that his clone that showed up after you were there? He didn't tell
you; A closeknit family like yours?" Bobbie confirms that she hadn't seen
Nikolas those days. Lee comes to take Stefan to a meeting. Luke tells Bobbie he
might be able to help if she'd only listen. Bobbie wants to know if Luke knew
about the custody suit. She's even more furious. Bobbie encounters Luke waiting
for her in the hallway outside of Justus' office. He tries, with no success, to
talk her out of the custody suit.
Stefan grills Nik for info on his whereabouts on the previous evening, and
confronts him with his new knowledge that Nik made a trip to Switzerland, to
follow him and see that Leslie and Lulu weren't harmed by him. Stefan's ticked
that Nik would think he'd harm a batty old woman and a helpless child. If Lulu
were holding the egg, Nik points out, Stefan wouldn't blink before harming her
(in not so many words). Nik says he saw Stefan for what he was, in Switzerland,
and tells him the little tale of one guy going up a mountain, one guy coming
down, with an egg, and what happened when the two collided. I didn't know,
Stefan says. That's the point, Nik tells him, and lays out his newfound insight
to his uncle's character. Stefan is mortified, and asks what he can do to put
things right. Nik pops out his knowledge that Uncle is also responsible for
Katherine's condition. Very responsible. Nik announces he's through with the
Cassadine name and all that goes with it. Stefan tells him he'll always be a
Cassadine; yeah, says Nik, but I'm also half Laura's, and then breaks the news
that he owes his life to Luke Spencer for rescuing him after Stefan "threw
me off the side of the mountain.". The knife twists. Bobbie comes in and
overhears.
Stefan asserts that "Luke is playing a sick game with something of
immense value to our family. If you had seen him threaten to throw it off the
side of a mountain, you might understand." Nik stalks out. Luke is on the
phone to Laura telling her he can't convince Bobbie, she's far too angry. She
knows that Luke saved Nikolas on the cliff, and doesn't know why Luke wasn't
telling her. She tells Luke what Nik didn't, that Stefan was involved. Luke
didn't want her to run to Count Vladimir: "You think you need him, the
custody thing, showing off your perfect marriage. You're shining it up and
turning the cracks to the wall but you don't have to go through that, because it
doesn't matter." Luke says that she and Lucas will fall through the cracks.
Why, he asks her, is he staying in Port Charles? "Because you hate my
husband." "I could do that from anywhere on this planet." He's
staying to look after Bobbie. She gets huffy and starts to leave and Luke asks
for two minutes. He points out that the unflappable Stefan was actually thrown
for a loop over the egg. They talk about Nik and the cliff: "What is it
about the egg? It's an ornate chicken dropping, Barbara." She says his two
minutes are up and leaves.
Nik is at the docks. He calls Laura. "Hello?" She comments. He
tells her who he is, asks about Lulu and Lesley. Laura says she was worried
about him. Lulu loves the little pony she he sent. Laura presses him about
what's trong. She tries to tell him that Love hurts and she wishes she could
start over. Nik cries and wishes she could, too. Bobbie gets home and sees the
egg in the case. She widens her Eyes. Luke calls Laura, who spends all her time
sitting next to the phone. She tells him about Nik. Nik is at the docks, and a
tear rolls down his cheek.
Kat's office--Luke bops in and cuts Kat's phone call short. He wants to know
where Nik is. Laura had a phone call from him and she is worried. Luke admits
that he does not care about the kid one way or the other, but he doesn't want
Laura to get upset. Kat tells him she doesn't know where Nik is, but coolly
informs him that "she will keep him informed." After Kat leaves, Luke
uses the phone to dial Switzerland. Laura tells him that Nik returned to
Wyndemere, and Stefan hung up on her. Luke responds "Stefan's spool is
unraveling..." He suggest that perhaps he can get Bobbie to push Stefan
over the edge.
Stefan is pissed. Nik is no where to be found. He gets on the horn to
Switzerland and when Laura answers, he demands "What did you say to
Nikolas?" Laura assures him that she said nothing untoward to the boy, but
that Nik seemed very upset and she's worried about him. Soon Nik arrives and
Stefan rudely hangs up on his former love. Nik explodes at Stfean's questioning
and tells him that he only came back to get his passport and tell Stefan and
Bobbie goodbye. Stefan admits that he should have told Nik the truth about what
happened. "About which part?" Nik asks. "About you shooting an
innocent woman or about letting Luke Spencer go to jail for it?" Stefan
tells him never to doubt his love. Nik doesn't even know if he can believe that
anymore. Playing his trump card, Stef asks: "What about Katherine? She
needs you."
Luke on the phone to Laura, discussing Bobbie. Laura asks if he's having
second thoughts. No. Laura suggests that "yodelling won't be the first
thing we do when we finally see each other again." Ruby lures Bobbie to the
diner. Luke wants to talk to her "one last time." He brings up, Yet
Again, the egg. Why was Stefan so interested in it? He tells her about the
virus. She doesn't believe him, and he reminds her about freezing the world. She
doesn't think her brother is smart enough to figure this out, and he cops to
getting help from a friend in the WSB. "Do you think I would make this
up?" Yes, she does. He warns her something will go down, a computer
shutdown or something. "Proof doesn't always lay itself out in neat rows.
Sometimes you have to connect the dots yourself." "Yeah, well stop
trying to do it for me." Luke says, Yet Again, that the only reason she's
still with Stefan is hurt feelings and stubborn pride. "That's it, Barbara,
and now you're going to try to put up this front of a perfect American family so
some judge somewhere can give you the big prize in the Lucas sweepstakes? And
what are you going to win? Maybe the kid can grow up in the Big Lie like
Nikolas." Barbara warns him not to discuss the custody papers with her.
Luke tells her he played her wrong. He should have told her about the fake
death. And now, "You can go home and you can blab to Count Vlad that Big,
Bad, Bubba's got his secret bug, but I bet he uses it anyway -- it's too late to
abandon his secret plan." Luke says this is Stefan's chance for revenge.
She doesn't believe him. She leaves with Luke telling her to do what she thinks
is right. He then calls Laura and reports. Stefan is listening to Katherine
rattling off the late events, hostage-taking, power tool brain surgery, mayhem
and death. Nik comes in to take Katherine to the gym . They hasten to assure him
he's not interrupting anything. Katherine listens to Nik whine about his uncle
and tells him she's surprised Stefan hasn't thrown him out on his adolescent
spoiled butt. Alexis comes into the library. They talk about Nikolas. Stefan
insists the situation is still under control. Alexis drily remarks: "Define
control." She suggests they drop the dry runs on guinea pigs like Felicia
and they might as well do it now. Stefan agrees, and pretends it was all his
idea. They discuss whether Nik will tell about Katherine's shooting . Alexis
feels a little nervous.
Bobbie assists Tony with more surgery for Audrey. When the power goes out,
Bobbie remembers Luke's warning about Stefan's evil plans and that it will have
something to do with "computers"! In Stefan's office at GH, Alexis
tries to talk him out of his evil scheme. He says things are too far along to
back out now. He introduces a virus into the GH mainframe. It infects all the
computers that control the central plant and poor GH is soon without lights,
electricity, or phones. Later on Stef was taken aback when he learned that
Audrey was having more brain surgery during the power outage. The hospital is in
darkness and all is chaos as the system has crashed. Stefan is on the phone
talking with the fix-up guys trying to straighten the situation out. The lights
and computer come back on and everyone cheers and all hail the mighty Stefan for
his skills. Even Nik, who swore he never wanted to see Stef again, praises his
genius. Off to the side Bobbie watches, the scales fallen from her eyes. She
goes to a pay phone and calls Luke--she'll be right over. Stefan surprises her.
She tells him she's going to pick up Lucas. "You seem to have taken care of
things nicely." She's friendly enough, but it's clear to us that she's on
to him. Stefan himself seems somewhat wary, and responds humbly. "The staff
has to take some of the credit." "Oh, I wouldn't say that,"
Bobbie smiles. They eye each other, both faking, and neither sure of how much
the other knows. Stefan overhears Tony saying how dire things were in the OR
with Audrey when the lights went out, Stef has the decency to look guilty.
At Luke's Place, Luke can see how upset Bobbie is. "Are you in
trouble?" She starts to spill: "Audrey Hardy. Sweet, loyal, tough as
nails Audrey...with a thousand friends and nobody to come home to anymore. He
could have left her paralyzed on one side, or worse." She knows Stefan was
behind the system crash that left them helpless during Audrey's operation. She
realizes that she could always count on Luke. "You never lied to me, not
about the really important things. Like about the daughter I gave up...you could
have kept the truth from me when she died...kept me hoping--but I had a right to
know the truth." Luke, a bit guilty, quickly changes the subject. She still
can't get over how Stefan could have put Audrey's life at risk. "There is a
monster in the mansion, and I'm married to him." Bobbie beats herself up
for her choice in husbands--she turned to Stefan because she felt rejected by
Tony. Luke asks "Did he ever tell you he loved you?" Bobbie answers
no. "What he did was offer me everything I thought I wanted . He didn't
promise not to lie every time he opened his mouth." She and Luke have a
really good scene where she talks about how she's still haunted by her hooker
past. Luke insists he's never thought about her that way. She thought that the
role of Mrs. Cassadine would protect her--no one would dare look down upon the
wife of such a powerful man. But that's all over. "Whatever I felt for him
went out with the lights in that OR. I'm done, and whether he knows it or not,
so is he."
Back at GH, Tony is optimistic about Audrey and Stefan seems glad. He tells
Tony about the murder and that Carly found the body. Later, Stefan and Alexis
discuss the murder. Then Alexis expresses her guilt over Audrey almost dying.
She wants to know if Stefan cares that they almost killed her. He says yes, but
they did their best to minimize the risks and they always knew people might get
hurt. Alexis says she just needs to be sure that he still has a conscience and
seems satified that he does.
Bobbie's attempting to break into Stefan's desk when her husband calls with
the news that the Nurses' Ball's sponsors have withdrawn their cash. As they're
discussing options, Bobbie is distracted by the sight of Luke breaking into the
house. When Stefan asks what's wrong, she says she spied one of their horses
jumping the fence, offers to talk to Lucy about the ball, and gets off the
phone. Bobbie and Luke discuss her upcoming role in his plans for Stefan, and he
offers to give her an out so she won't have to risk getting into trouble. No
way, she says. Luke and Bobbie go over her recent conversion to the Spencer side
of things. She's ready to help her brother, and wants to know what he needs of
her. What he needs is for Bobbie to get a good look into Stefan's powerbook. She
thinks it's locked up in the desk drawer, but hasn't been successful in breaking
in. She says Stefan's been a little more security conscious lately, and probably
activated a password to get in the computer, anyway. When Luke starts to explain
exactly what he thinks Stefan can do with his microchip, Bobbie spies her
husband entering, and slaps big Bro right in the face. Continuing the charade,
she yells at him all the things she's yelled at him for the last six months, but
for Stefan's benefit. Luke catches on quickly and escalates the argument, till
Cassadine announces his presence and threatens to have him thrown off the
property. Luke puts on his cools shades and leaves. Stefan clucks over his wife,
who pretends to be mad at Luke and plants a big, wet one (or two or five) on her
target, while her hand winds down to his pocket. Next thing you know, she's
nailed him to the sofa and they're making out like teens when Jax calls. While
Stefan takes the call (turns out Jax wants to sponsor the Nurses' Ball), Bobbie
goes for, and retrieves, the key to Stefan's desk. Bobbie calls Luke to let him
know she wormed the key. She mentions that she feels like a hooker in her own
home; isn't thrilled about that, but is committed.
Lucky comes up to Amy. He's there to volunteer. Turns out, of course, it's
mandatory for school. A pretty girl comes by. It's Sarah Webber! Amy introduces
herself and Lucky and they discuss who is related to whom (great pains are taken
to point out that Laura Webber is not a blood relation to Audrey and therefore
Lucky and Sarah are not blood relations - point being Lucky can have a crush on
Sarah without it being incestous. Sarah will move into Audrey's house and take
care of her. Sarah and Amy go to see grandma Audrey, who is still unconscious.
Sarah is setting up the room, talking to Audrey, and Nik comes by and is smitten
and eavesdrops till she tells him off for it. Lucky comes by with sodas. Amy
tells him they've gone to get another test. They talk about Sarah, but Lucky
disclaims all interest. Amy sees right through him.
Bobbie embraces Stefan and feigns pleasure at their last evening's love
making. When he leaves, she pops open his laptop but is startled by the surprise
arrival of Luke. They try to guess Stefan's password. Later,Alexis buttonholes
Stefan and says she thinks Ned knows something about the murder. After a brief
encounter with Tony, they discuss Bobbie. "She's under control,"
Stefan smugly assures her. Bobbie and Luke continue to try to guess Stefan's
password. Eventually, Luke leaves, and Bobbie continues. Bobbie finally guesses
the password, "island". Stefan returns, but Luke blocks him before he
can enter the library and catch Bobbie.
Amy runs into Lucky outside of Audrey's hospital room. She's aware of his
interest in Sarah. "Just because I'm blonde doesn't mean I'm dumb. And
Lucky, try not to pop any balloons on the way in." Lucky and Sarah talk. He
can empathize with what she's going through, because his grandma was sick, too.
He thinks the jokes he told her made her feel better. Sarah is near tears and
Lucky tries to comfort her: "I know what you're going through...it's okay,
Sarah."
In the hallway outside of Stefan's office, Luke heads off Stefan. Bobbie is
inside and --Eureka!--she has discovered the secret password to break into his
computer: "island". She calls up Luke on the cell phone and he picks
up as he toys with Stefan. Luke pretends its Laura calling and tries to drop
some hints about Stef being right there with him outside the door. When Bobbie
finally buys a clue, she panics. There's no place to hide! Luke steps aside when
he can no longer hold off Stef. Stefan prowls around his office while Bobbie is
hunkered down on the other side of an open bookcase. Stefan touches his computer
(is it warm?) and gets himself a glass of water from a pitcher on the bookshelf
while Bobbie grimaces, hoping he doesn't spot her. Out in the hall, Lucky comes
along. There is a suspicious lump under his shirt, but he responds vaguely to
Luke's question about it. They discuss dinner plans--pepperoni pizza--and Dad
tells Son pick one up along with a six-pack of beer. "I'll need one of
those fake I.D.s", he reminds his dad. Luke thinks better of it and tells
Lucky he'll do the honors.
When Stefan leaves the office, he passes a janitor with his big cleaning cart
in the hall outside. Once he's gone, Luke comes out from behind the cart and
hands the cleaner some cash. He hurries in to find Bobbie. She tells him
"Stefan knows."
Luke is skeptical and he and Bobbie spend a few minutes doing their
"spencers against the world" routine. But Bobbie is sure that Stefan
is wise to her. So what? Luke wants to know. "He'll find out that we're
standing on the same side of the firing squad. This time, when we bury the
hatchet, let's make sure it's in Stefan's head." They leave the room with
their arms around each other.
A lumpy Lucky arrives and tells Sarah that one thing that helped his own
grandma get better was his dog Foster. So he thought that maybe Audrey would
enjoy a visit from her furry friend, Gatsby. He takes a big chubby calico cat
out from under his shirt. Sarah thanks him and takes the cat in her arms. They
both sit by Audrey's bedside. Suddenly Sarah realizes that her grandmother's
eyes blinked. They talk to Audrey encouragingly, and she openes her eyes.
"You've cut your hair," she murmurs to Sarah.
At Kelly's, Lucky and Ruby and Luke are talking. Lucky asks Luke about the
Plan. Luke has Bobbie working with them. Lucky is delighted. Bobbie comes in.
Sarah comes in for Ruby's strawberry-rhubarb pie, which Lucky orders. He
introduces Ruby and Sarah. Luke didn't know about Sarah, but now he understands
Lucky's sudden venture into civic responsibility. Luke wants to meet Sarah, but
refuses to be uncool by going over to introduce himself. Bobbie tells Luke that
Stefan changed the password. They agree to continue the pretense of hating each
other. Ruby finally gets back with it, and Luke meets Sarah. Luke calls Audrey a
"gal". Lucky suggests that isn't a word most people would feel
comfortable using. Lucky and Sarah leave. Luke asks Bobbie: "Did I grow
horns?" "What you grew is a teenage son!" "When did I get to
be such a drag?" Luke finds it hard to believe Lucky wouldn't want
"even him" around. Bobbie leaves.
At the Nurse's Ball, people start to trickle in. Stefan eyes Katherine
hungrily and Luke notices and makes a great crack, "You'll spoil your
appetite for rubber chicken if you keep eatin' your heart out like that!"
Stefan glares a reply. Then he said he was surprised to see Luke at the Nurse's
Ball. The ladies are shown getting ready in the dressing room, the scene set to
music. The show starts with Alan singing and the women doing a fashion show
thing behind him. The women end up on steps behind Alan, forming a rainbow with
their dress colors.Bobbie, returning to their table after number, notices how
hypnotized he is by KatyBell. Later, Katherine goes upstairs to an office. She's
alone and tries standing up. She takes a step. Stefan is in the doorway, a big
mile on his face. Bobbie is in her disco dress. Her partner Dr. Drexler is
gussied up like John Travolta. He's eager to show off his stuff and in front of
Bobbie, Lucy, and Amy does some fancy twirls. He twirls out of camera range and
we hear a huge crash while the women stare in horror. Amy has a meltdown. Her
career as producer is over before it begins. She hurries to find a replacement.
Amy rushes back with Luke in tow--he can save the day! Bobbie and Luke still
pretend they hate each other, but they can force themsleves to dance so that the
show may go on. But does Luke know the routine? "I invented disco,
Barbara...and when it bored me I killed it..." Lucy tells Luke to get
ready, go backstage and "do something with yourself". Luke counters
"With all these people around?" Amy runs over to Dr. Drexler on the
paramedic's stretcher and starts tearing his costume off. As Lucy goes into her
intro, backstage Luke and Amy struggle to get him out of his pants so he can
change into his costume. Finally, just in time, Luke gets his fly zipped and
bursts onstage to dance the "Last Dance" with Bobbie. He poses a la
Travolta. He does a lot more dancing than Bobbie does. She comes on more toward
the end of the number so he can swing her around. This is a great number! Luke
at his dancing finest. Lucy introduces Kat Bell to say a few words. Katy-puss
astounds one and all by walking onto the stage with the help of a cane.
Applause. Stefan blinks back tears. She tells them that she knows that this
night is not about her but she wanted to share a small miracle with them
tonightso that they can all make a larger miracle happen--like defeating HIV.
She then introduces "our own miracle, Robin Scorpio."
At Wyndemere, Bobbie enters her bedroom and calls for Luke, who appears. They
start searching the room, apparently they have been searching the whole house.
Bobbie points out a map on the wall, Stefan has never said anything about it
although he does love to run on about his expensive art work gifted by princes
and tsars. They find a secret cubby behind the map with an ornate box in it.
Bobbie finds a slot in the box, it looks like the slots on the egg stand. Luke
says he'll have Laura send one of the medallions. Luke warns her to be careful,
even of Alexis and leaves. Later, Bobbie flings herself into bed just as Stefan
comes home. She cannot take her eyes off his medallion as he undresses. Stefan
stops on his way to the bathroom, he looks around almost as though he can sense
that Luke had been there. Luke calls Laura and asks her to send a medallion.
Lucky stops by the Webbers with muffins for Audrey from Ruby. Lucky offers to
give Sarah a tour of PC. When Sarah says she likes classical music, Lucky joins
in that this is favorite too. In their discussion, it becomes obvious that he
has no clue! He admits it but adds that he is however an expert on the blues and
is a quick learner. Lucky is thrilled to hear that Sarah is planning on staying
in PC for the summer.
Stefan has changed all the passwords. Alexis worries about Luke. Stefan
thunders: "Did the fool actually believe he could break into My
files?" What could he have been looking for? Alexis continues to worry
about Luke, but Stefan says it would take a "far keener mind than Spencer's
to stop what we've put in motion." "One by one every major
communication system in the country is being scanned, analyzed, and co-opted by
the Cassadine network." "How do you feel?" Alexis asks.
"Excellent! And how about you?" She wants to see if he still has a
conscience. She'll do anything for him and Nikolas. Nik comes in and Stefan
teases Alexis by telling Nik he has important news for him. It's only that he's
given Nik the job of hospital student volunteer peer counsellor. Nik and Alexis
talk. Alexis is, she says, feeling positive.
Bobbie enters her bedroom and is surprised to see Luke in Stefan's bed. They
get the box out. Luke comments re: the bed: "Amazingly comfortable for
gothic modern." Laura's medallion doesn't open the box. They decide they
need Stefan's so they drive to the hospital. Bobbie unlocks the drug room and
Luke comes in with her, rattling on about names till she throws him out. Alexis
is later surprised to see Bobbie in the drug room as it is her day off. Alexis
gets a whiff of that Damn Cigar and investigates the drug room. Bobbie comes up
with a totally lame lie as to why she's there. Luke runs into Stefan and they
banter a bit. Back at the mansion, Bobbie crushes the pills and hides the
paraphernalia in a floral arrangement. Stefan comes in and she coos
"Stefan! I'm so glad you came home early. I've been waiting all day for
this."
As Luke watches for Bobbie's signal, Alexis approaches him on the docks. Luke
is gazing at Spoon Island through a pair of binoculars. Alexis asks him what he
is doing. Luke says he's become a birdwatcher--he's checking for the
yellow-bellied bloodsucker, at its known habitat of Wyndemere. They spar a bit
more, then Alexis tells him to keep watching--she'll wave to him from the manse.
"A hand is kind of a small target. Could you moon me?" Alexis looks
like she'd rather make him see stars. "Good night. As fascinating as this
is, I'd rather be unconscious." Luke calls her back. He has a proposition
for her. Luke lights up one of his ubiquitous cigars . Then he begins a
"Bride of Frankenstein" riff which culminates in Bobbie being compared
to the Bride. How can they get Bobbie out of Stefan's clutches? After all, it
would be to both their advantages. "You were groomed to be Mistress of the
Manor. Every time Bobbie puts bean salad and tuna surprise on the menu or
wonders where to hang the black velvet portrait of Elvis--doesn't it bother you
to be playing second banana to such a peasant?" Alexis counters "I
don't think of myself as a number or a tropical fruit. And you don't think of
your sister as a low rent bimbo." "But I know what you people think.
You're like that Faberge egg--hollow inside. Bobbie, with her big heart and her
guts and her goofy dreams--it's like she's been abducted by aliens."
"You still love your sister," Alexis says. All their
"hatred" for each other is nothing but playacting. "You're still
as close as ever and you're still a team." Luke tells her watch out,
neither of the Spencers are forgiving. "Bobbie is," Alexis says.
"You've never crossed her," Luke replies.
Bobbie works on seducing Stefan. When he briefly leaves the room, she phones
Luke and tells him, "I think I can pull this off." Luke watches Bobbie
with binoculars while talking to her. When Stefan returns, she quickly sends him
off to get ready for bed while she drugs his wine. She hands Stefan the drugged
wine. As Stefan is about to sip the tainted wine, his private line rings and, he
stops short. Stefan returns, and they drink a toast to Bobbie his devoted wife.
As he drinks up, he looks strangely smug. Stefan stands behind Bobbie, holding
her arms and hurting her while he forces her to open her hand and reveal the
medallion. She tells him that it slipped off him while he was asleep. He doesn't
remember falling asleep--"It must have been the port. Was it the port,
Barbara?" He tries to force her to drink the tainted substance, telling her
that he switched glasses and drank what she intended for herself. "This
port is the best...tell me what the best isn't wasted on you." She pushes
his hand away and the glass falls to the floor. "What kind of poison was
it?" he asks. Alexis called him from the hospital about Bobbie's raid on
the drug cabinet. Bobbie says she knows he's been lying and sneaking around for
months--she knows all about Katherine. "She's trash." "That's a
presumptuous statement coming from *you*." "At least I never pretended
to be anything but what I was. Unlike the two of you." "And for that
you were going to murder me in my bed?" "Tomorrow you would have woken
up as cold and miserable as you are now. But I would have gotten some
proof--"She indicates the box. "That is where you keep her disgusting
love letters, isn't it?" she bluffs. How did she know the box needed his
medallion to be opened? There was only one person who could have given her the
idea. "Say his name," Stefan breathes. "Say it." Bobbie
demurs. She figured it out for herself. Stef scoffs. "You have neither the
wiles nor the intellect to make that deduction." Bobbie is amazed that she
could ever have compared Stefan to Tony. Compared to Stef, Tony is Bambi.
"Do you have any idea how it felt, how it turned my stomach, lying in bed
next to you and knowing what you are?" [Referring to Katherine] "First
you shoot her, and then figure, hey, she's on her back...if you had killed her,
would you have climbed up on her corpse?" Stef gives one of his patented
supercilious sneers. He knows who told her that "Crude and fantastical
story". "You betrayed me with my mortal enemy, your brother."
"That's right. Luke wants to see you burn in hell--and I want to light the
match!" "So you let him use you like a common pimp." "That
pimp saved your nephew's life." Stef wants to know if Luke coached her from
the first--even when she accepted Stef's proposal. No, Bobbie says--she was
stupid enough to love him, to turn against the brother who raised and supported
her. Stefan only used her. He has no right to feel disappointed now. "I
offered you everthing...I took you out of the gutter..." "You lied to
me every step of the way! I'll take the gutter, thank you." Stefan tells
Bobbie that he never forgives and he never forgets. "It's time to cut the
poison out." He opens her closet, pulls out the clothing within, throws it
to the floor, and taking an armful, flings it viciously at her trembling form.
"Take your gaudy whore's clothing and go back to the streets where you
belong. That is the only life you are suited for."

Luke waits for Tony at his apartment (Carly has left town to visit Virgina who
has had a stroke). When Tony gets home, he's surprised to see Luke. The two
ex-in-laws talk about Carly and Laura. Luke shares his suspicions of Stefan and
Katherine, but then says Bobbie is too smart to miss the signs of a wandering
husband." Oops. Tony tells Luke that Bobbie is suspicious about Lesley's
"death", but Luke should stay out of it. Bobbie comes to Tony's and
finds Luke there. She asks Tony to take Lucas while she goes out of town. Bobbie
wants Luke to apologize for what he said about Stefan and Katherine, instead he
just says he's sorry about fighting with Bobbie. As she leaves, Justus arrives
to tell Tony about a recent court case that might help his custody suit, but
Tony indicates he's been rethinking taking Lucas from his mother. Tony says he
wants to back off the custody suit. Luke questions his judgment and wonders what
Carly will think. "You want me to give you advice about Laura?" Tony
replies, but smiling Luke quickly declines the offer, wishes him a happy
birthday, and leaves. Afterwards, Tony calls Katy and tells her Carly will be
away, and since Bobbie is out of town, and he'll need to be with Lucas, they'll
need to reschedule their appointment. "No, problem," she veritably
chortled. Stefan and Bobbie say their goodbyes before her trip.
