Spencer
vs Cassidine #24 August
24 - October 8, 2001 - 8 hour original edit
DVD #24A Stavros warns his mother
that the cat and mouse game she so enjoys playing with Jasper Jax could end up
costing the Cassadines a bundle. Gia slips away from Lucky and hurries to
consult with Elizabeth on the best way to handle their mutual problem. Gia
thinks fast to prevent Helena from catching Elizabeth searching her suite for a
second time, she slams a desert into Helena’s chest.
8/27 Stavros finds Elizabeth
in his mother's room, although she didn't know he was Stavros. She came up with
an excuse that she had been there earlier with Nikolas and lost her ring. He
found it and looked at it disparagingly before handing it to her. Her cell phone
rang and it was Gia warning her that Helena was on her way up. Elizabeth
pretended it was Nikolas she was talking to. Helena came in and Stavros let
Elizabeth go. She said they have to do something about Elizabeth Webber. They
talked about how Stavros was going to destroy his brother and Helena said they
should have it blamed on Jax. He liked that idea.
Lucky phoned down to room service to demand more ice for the cooler. He saw the
big hunk of ice and it reminded him of the Ice Princess and he went out onto the
ledge outside the room. He was fine and sleeping by the time Gia and Elizabeth
got to the room. Elizabeth asked to stay with him for a while and Gia finally
said yes. Elizabeth said that even though they aren't exactly friends, could Gia
look out for Lucky while all this is going on. Gia agreed and asked if Elizabeth
could do the same for Nikolas.
8/28 Elizabeth convinced Gia to let her stay and watch Lucky sleep. Gia gave in
and went downstairs in the hotel. Elizabeth started to rub Lucky's head and
awoke him. He immediately jumps to the defensive and asked about Gia. Elizabeth
told him that Gia called her to prevent him from hurting himself any further by
fast cars and ledges. Due to the erasing of Lucky's memory, Elizabeth had to go
way back to the time when she was raped to get a reaction from Lucky. She talked
about how he taught her how to trust again.
Lucky remembered protecting
Elizabeth and sleeping on her floor at night, but the love part was gone.
Elizabeth then pleaded with Lucky to let her stay and watch over him like he did
for her. She told him that it was not about love or their feelings for one
another, but it was about returning the favor. Lucky finally gave in and allowed
Elizabeth to stay. Lucky watched Elizabeth sleep on the bed and then he got up.
Lucky walked over to the bed and put Elizabeth's arm around him. Elizabeth
smiled.
8/30 Stefan shows up at a
church and sits down in the confession booth. He thinks this will clear him of
his sins and he can begin life on a new path. What he doesn't know is that
Stavros is in the next booth, impersonating a monk! As Stefan confesses that he
has been a bad man and has lied and cheated, Stavros interjects comments that
make Stefan nervous. He's thinking, "how could this person know so much of
what I've done." Stefan asks how he will ever be good enough, to which
Stavros (as the monk) declares, "You'll never be good enough!" Soon
Stefan comes out of the booth shaken and runs into his mother. Helena tells him
she's furious that he has been so cavalier with the Cassadine fortune and that
it's rapidly dwindling and will soon be gone if he doesn't take better care of
it. Stefan chuckles that his mother could insult him in one breath and ask for
his help in another. Then he declares that he would sell or give away all of it
piece by piece before he'd let it ruin Nikolas.
8/31 Closing his hands around Helena's scrawny neck, Stavros warns her he won't
let her kill Stefan until he's through torturing his brother. Helena informs
Stavros that he needs her alive and well if he intends to stay healthy himself.
Lucky manages to elude Gia and
Elizabeth and heads back to the boxcar. Ripping down the shrine he built, Lucky
begins burning all his photos of Elizabeth. After bluffing her way past a hotel
maid, Elizabeth steals the Ice Princess from Helena's suite. Elizabeth takes the
Ice Princess to the boxcar and waves the prize in front of a dazed Lucky.
Later, Chloe is shocked to
"see" the man she knows as "Lucien" promising Helena he'll
kill Stefan that very night. Chloe unearths "Lucien's" secret.
9/3 Chloe puts the pieces
together of everything “Lucien” had told her and grabs a family album and
finds a picture of Stavros with Nik as a baby. She realizes that Lucien is
Stavros! Unfortunately, Stavros saw her and came out of hiding. He toyed with
her for awhile, not letting on he had seen her. She commented that Stefan and
him were obviously more than business acquaintances since he knew about an
accident Stefan had. He admitted they have known each other for a long time. He
talked about Stefan, ranted about him sleeping with his wife. Chloe was shocked
and he admitted he was Stavros Cassadine. He said he noticed her looking at the
album and turned to the page with him and Nikolas. He talked about being frozen
for twenty years. That part was easy, it was being thawed out that was hard.
Chloe lifted her hand, as to touch his face. He encouraged her to touch him, he
was real. He didn't anticipate her slugging him in the face instead. She said he
was just like Stefan said. She said she had come to ask Stefan to go to Milan
with her. They would go and she wouldn't mention seeing Stavros. He wouldn't let
her leave. Not good for Chloe.
Helena was incensed in finding the Ice Princess missing. She screamed at one of
her goons to come in and wanted him to find it. She was suspecting Stefan but
not ruling out others. Outside her door she ran into Gia. They had their usual
words. Gia certainly doesn't take any guff from Helena; she gives as good as she
gets. Helena mentioned Elizabeth Webber and Gia told her as much as she hates
Elizabeth, she hates Helena more. Gia told Helena that she might have thought
that Gia wasn't good enough for Nikolas; the opposite was true; Nikolas wasn't
good enough for her. She met someone new who's tall, dark and handsome,
“Lucien Cane”. Helena smiles as she realizes that Gia is raving about
Stavros!
Elizabeth was trying to get
Lucky to look at the Ice Princess and follow her orders, not Helena's. He asked
where she got it and she told him she stole it. He could follow her demands
instead. He wasn't cooperating at all and managed to get it away from her. He
was going to throw it away but she told him no. She wanted to take him to see
Kevin; she didn't want to do anything wrong. He finally shouted that he didn't
want to hurt her like he already hurt his dad.
9/4 Elizabeth does everything in her power to bring Lucky's feelings and love
for her back, but nothing works. She goes on about how their love is stronger
than Helena and the ice princess. Lucky searched deep and remember our love
because I am not giving up on you. Lucky and Elizabeth spontaneously kissed and
it brought back some of Lucky actual memories, but not the feelings. He told her
how wonderful her lips felt and how good it felt to hold her, it was not love
though and no feelings. Elizabeth was upset because it really felt like she
could have been any other girl. Lucky apologized and asked her to leave him
alone because he will never be able to bring back the love. Then Lucky took off
and Elizabeth followed.
They ended up at the pier
where Lucky threatened to get rid of the ice princess. Elizabeth asked him not
to and to remember that the ice princess was the key to releasing the
programming. Lucky told her that it was too late and this is the only thing he
could do to be free from Helena. He tossed the ice princess into the lake.
Elizabeth asked if he felt different or better. Lucky replied oddly that I don't
know what I feel. Then Helena's henchman found them and asked about the ice
princess. Lucky told him he was too late because he had already disposed of it.
The henchman left to go report to Helena. Lucky told Elizabeth not to worry
because now you are fee to move on and find someone to love that will love you
back. We can safely conclude that Elizabeth and Lucky are on Helena's not fond
of you list.
Stavros had killed Chloe and was waiting for Stefan's return. Stavros placed
Chloe's body inside some curtains in the study. Stefan returned to his office to
find something not right. He looked at the bulk in the bottom of the curtains
and walked over to them. He found Chloe just still. Stefan immediately called
911 and tried to revive Chloe Morgan, but to no avail. The emergency operator
continued to say stay on the line sir, you must stay on the line. Jax and Alexis
arrive to find both Stefan and Chloe on the floor. Stefan told Alexis that he
could not save Chloe. Jax immediately blamed Stefan and went for his throat. Mac
arrived with reinforcements and stopped the fight. Mac asked Stefan to go to the
police station but Stefan reacted badly to his theory that he had something to
do with the murder and punched Mac in the face. Jax and the other officers then
restrained Stefan as they headed for the police station.
9/5 Nikolas arrives on the
docks to meet with Elizabeth. She says she has a diver looking in the lake for
the Ice Princess. Nikolas lashes out at Elizabeth for her carelessness with both
the Ice Princess and with Lucky. He is hurting his family and friends he tells
her, and for what? Not only can't he count on her, but Lucky can't either.
Nikolas strikes a low blow when he tells Elizabeth that Lucky certainly couldn't
count on her love when Jason was around. Incensed, Elizabeth tells Nikolas that
he won't act like a Cassadine with her. A chastened Nikolas apologizes. Gia
finds Lucky in the Deception darkroom. She tells him that Elizabeth sent her out
to look for him. Lucky says cryptically that soon no one will have to worry
about him anymore.
Laura returns to PC! She and Scott arrive at Deception where it becomes obvious
that Scott accompanied Ms. Spencer on her business trip. Laura says she needs to
catch up on business. Neither is aware that Stavros is lurking in the building,
in Laura's office. Lucky and Gia, who have come up from the darkroom, stop her
from entering it. Scott tells Lucky to find Elizabeth and he will take everyone
out for a catch-up dinner. Coolly, Lucky informs the two that he and Liz broke
up. Then he walks away to grab some test shots for his mother.
While he is gone, Gia fills
Laura in on what has happened to Lucky while she has been away. Does Luke know
what is going on Laura asks? A surprised Gia replies that Luke is gone. As she
begins to fill Laura in on the happenings at the Cassadine auction, Lucky
returns and says he needs to review the test shots with Gia before his mother
can see them. As the two head towards the elevator, Gia calls out that Scott can
fill Laura in on what happened at the auction...he was there. An incredulous
Laura turns to Scott and blasts him for keeping quiet about Luke and the
auction. She storms out of Deception with Scott following after her. An amused
Stavros emerges from Laura's office and is spied by Gia. "You're
busted," she tells him.
A belligerent Stefan is placed in the interrogation room of the PCPD. Alexis
tells him that his actions in the police station are only making him look worse
and tries to get him to settle down. When she steps out of the room, Jax
confronts her. She says she is going to defend her brother no matter what. He
says he didn't kill Chloe and that is enough for her. Upon reentering the
interrogation room, she finds Taggert questioning him. She again tells Stefan to
keep quiet and do what she says before he does something that he will regret.
Because he continues to be hostile, Taggert decides to put him in a holding
cell. Ned arrives at the PCPD and Jax provides details about Chloe’s murder.
Ned turns, and upon seeing Stefan exit the interrogation room, immediately
charges at him. Once they are separated, Stefan is taken to his cell.
The diver emerges from the lake and tells a hopeful Nikolas and Elizabeth that
he found something. Unfortunately, it is not the Ice Princess. Nikolas sends the
diver home. After the diver leaves, Laura arrives. Tell me what Gia said isn't
true she begs. Tell me you didn't urge Helena to mess around with Lucky's mind
again. Nikolas says he can't do that. He needed to get Helena to go after Lucky
in his presence so he could see how the mind control worked. He will find a way
to fix this Nikolas tells a distressed Laura as he embraces her. Nikolas then
exits to give Laura and Liz some time alone. After he is gone Liz tells Laura
that Lucky is worse than Nikolas thinks. "He has been trying to hurt
himself to make up for something he can't fully remember, something he did to
Luke," Liz sadly states.
Gia asks what "Lucien" was doing coming out of Laura's office. He lies
that he hid when he saw her boss. He did not want Gia to get in trouble with
Laura for having male visitors at work. He apologizes for disappearing on her
and says he will start to make it up to her by taking out to dinner, now. Lucky
reenters the lobby and sees the two together. He takes one look at
"Lucien" and says "I know you." After reintroducing himself
to Lucky "Lucien" says that Lucky has seen him out with Gia before. A
tense Lucky tells Gia she needs to come with him now to talk about the Deception
holiday campaign. Disappointed and annoyed, Gia takes a raincheck on dinner from
"Lucien." After he exits, Lucky makes Gia promise to stay away from
"Lucien." He doesn't know why, Lucky says, but he knows
"Lucien" is dangerous. Stavros returns again to Laura's office. He
leaves a vase of flowers with a note. "Can't wait to see you again" it
reads.
9/7 Laura asks Roy to her
office wondering if he has seen Luke. She is worried because he always keeps in
touch with her and she hasn't heard from him in a while. She asks Roy to try to
find Luke and he agrees, espically after she tells him that she believes Helena
used Lucky to hurt him. Just then Lucky shows up so Roy leaves. Elton comes in
to tell Laura he has no idea who sent her the roses and she explains a Lucien
Cane just called to say they were from him. She tells Elton that Lucien will be
calling him to set up a business and Elton makes sure to mention how gorgeous he
finds Lucien. While telling Lucky how much she loves him Laura begins to cry.
She asks if he knows where his father is and he says Luke is gone but
"he" is alive. When Laura asks who he is, Lucky says he meant Luke.
Laura reminds Lucky of when he was a child and Luke would sweep the monsters out
from under his bed and he would be safe. Lucky then said that Luke was gone but
the monster was back.
Liz and Nik discuss their
shock at Chloe’s funeral. Nik laments that he can’t even visit Stefan or
show him any compassion. Stefan shows up and Jax confronts him, he can’t
believe he is there and accuses him, “You killed her!” Ned attacks him as
well as Stefan insists that he loved her and he needs to pay his respects. Alan
won’t let him anywhere near her. Nik grabs him and tells him that he is making
it worse and takes him outside. Stefan is touched as its the first hint of
caring he has felt from Nik, and is glad at least he knows that he didn’t kill
Chloe. Nik, keeping his cover, says he didn’t say any such thing, that he
destroyed himself and lied to the people he was supposed to have loved. Alexis
promises Stefan that she will say goodbye to Chloe for both of them and asks
Stefan to please wait for her.
Note: no episodes
aired the following week due to 9/11
9/17 Scott and
Laura heard a noise come from Lulu's room and rushed upstairs to find Lucky
there telling her a story, trying to chase the monsters away. He got her to go
to sleep and they left and went back downstairs. Laura asked Lucky about this
monster he talked about and Lucky said the monster was gone, he killed him. She
asked about the lab and he told her she couldn't go there. Laura asked Lucky if
he could move into the house for a couple of weeks, help with Lulu. He agreed
and went to get his stuff. Scott told Laura he would defend Lucky if he had done
anything because he knows Lucky would have been under Helena's influence. Laura
was afraid that Lucky did something to Luke. She asked why Scott would help,
knowing he hates Luke. He said it was because he loved her.
Tony was working
in the lab, not Helena's lab, trying to find an antidote to the antitoxin that
Helena had given Lucas and Luke. Roy came in demanding answers that Tony
couldn't or wouldn't give him. He was scared something would get back to Helena.
Bobbie said if he wouldn't talk to Roy, he would talk to her. She guessed that
Helena was using Lucas to get Tony to do what she wanted. Tony admitted that
Lucas could get sick again and he was doing everything possible to prevent that
from happening. He wasn't going to lose another child. Bobbie and Tony hugged.
9/18 Alexis followed Stefan to Wyndemere only to find him searching for his gun.
She does not understand what he is doing. She tried to convince him that it is
crazy to go after Helena in this fashion. Had all his love for Chloe been in
vain? If he had really loved her then he would be continuing to be a better man.
Then as Alexis was preaching to Stefan and she let something slip. She really
could not retract it at this time so she said there is still hope for our
family. Alexis told Stefan that if he could keep a secret then she would tell
him. He promised and she took him to Jax. As you can guess this did not go over
well with Jax although he held his composure quite well and did not have any
outburst in front of Kristina. Kristina was very standoffish at first because
she has only known Jax, but when Alexis chimed in and promised that Stefan had
love deep inside Kristina relinquished and gave Stefan a big hug.
9/19 Jax returns
to his suite after a jog and runs into Helena. She makes Jax aware that she
knows Kristina is living with him (though Helena is unaware of her own
connection to the girl). Jax tells her to stay out of his personal business,
lest he cause her more trouble.
Alexis and Stefan are getting to know Kristina better. When Kristina asks if
there are other family members to meet, Stefan coldly says, "No." When
Alexis mentions Stavros, Stefan becomes visibly agitated. Jax then enters the
suite and becomes visibly agitated himself at seeing Stefan there. Kristina
excuses herself, and once she is gone, Jax argues with Alexis over Stefan.
Kristina needs to know her family she tells Jax. Jax feels otherwise. Stefan
didn't kill Chloe, Alexis states, and he is not the enemy, Helena is. That is
when Jax tells them both that Helena knows Kristina is living with him. Stefan
and Alexis are stunned.
Stefan offers to protect Kristina. Jax will have none of it. He thinks that
Stefan had something to do with Helena finding out Kristina is staying there in
the first place. Their argument is curtailed by Mac's arrival. He's come to
clear a few things up he tells the three and asks Stefan to submit to a DNA
test. Over Alexis' strong objections, Stefan agrees. After Mac leaves, Stefan,
Alexis, and Jax agree keep Kristina's heritage a secret from Helena. Stefan and
Alexis leave.
Helena quizzes one
of her men about Kristina. He says they are working on finding out more about
her. "Work harder," Helena demands. Stefan bursts into the room with
Alexis right behind him. You killed Chloe, why shouldn't I kill you he questions
as he wraps his hands around her throat. Alexis tries to reason with Stefan,
and, after a few tense moments, succeeds in getting him to back off. "You
will pay for what you have done," he threatens as Alexis pushes him to the
door.
9/20 Helena has Nikolas trapped and he can't seem to find a way around doing her
bidding to prove his loyalty to her. Helena drops the bomb on him after she
summons his to the restaurant to have dinner with her. Helena begins telling
Nikolas that his girlfriend (meaning Elizabeth) was becoming a problem. She
stole the Ice Princess and let Lucky dispose of it. Nikolas blasts his
grandmother for not having the Ice Princess in a vault in the first place or for
not giving it to him as he's asked. He tells her his patience is running thin
and wants total access to the Cassadine fortune and to be included in her plans.
Helena tells him she has one task for him to complete to prove himself to her
and then she'll discuss his demands. Nikolas begrudgingly tells her okay and
they leave the restaurant. Laura and Roy are there having dinner and Laura is
worried about what Helena is discussing with her son.
Helena shows up at
the police department while Stefan is telling Mac to arrest her for her
attempt to kill him. Helena walks in and declares that Stefan killed Chloe. She
tells him that Chloe came to her three days before she was murdered and told her
that Stefan was obsessed and was stalking her. When Mac asks if she has anything
to back up her story, she informs him that she has a witness and turns to
Nikolas! He is stunned and doesn't know what to do. Stefan looks him directly in
the eye and asks him to tell everyone it's a lie and that Helena is forcing him
into doing this. Nikolas stares for a while and you can tell he's afraid and
doesn't want to hurt his uncle, but corroborates his grandmothers' account of
what happened. Stefan is almost in tears and again looks directly at Nikolas and
says, "God help you, God help all of us."
Stavros invites
Gia to join him for dinner in his suite and proceeds to try to charm and romance
her, and plies her with champagne, hoping to seduce her.
Jax arrives at the Grille for a meeting with the Qs. Then Stefan arrives and
asks to speak with them. They all berate him for showing his face near them and
tell him that he's not welcome. He then asks them for patience while trying to
give them a check to donate in Chloe's memory. Jax grabs the check and rips it
up while yelling at him. Stefan tries to stay calm and tells them that he
voluntarily took a DNA test to prove he didn't kill Chloe. He looks at Helena
and Nikolas and tells them that it will prove his innocence no matter what
Helena makes Nikolas say. Mac and Taggert arrive on the scene and arrest Stefan
for Chloe's murder. Stefan screams at him for listening to Helena's lies. Mac
tells him that he's not being arrested based on Helena and Nikolas' claim but
because the DNA results came back and they match his. Stefan is stunned and
Helena looks somewhat confused.
9/21 In spite of
the champagne, Gia refuses to fall into bed with Stavros. Lucky finds them
together and attacks but Stavros gets the upper hand, almost kills Lucky and
then disappears. Gia tends to Lucky who refuses her help and leaves.
Though Stefan
denies killing Chloe, Mac and Taggert are forced to arrest him based on the
preliminary evidence. After Nikolas presses her to believe that Stefan is
innocent, Laura pays him a visit in jail. Helena congratulates Nikolas on his
actions at the station house and compares him to his father. Luke calls GH and
leaves a clue for Bobbie. Roy follows up on the lead.
9/24 Roy is
searching the catacombs and heard a noise. It was Melissa, who had followed him
from the hospital. She commented on his driving and he told her not to say
anything about his driving skills. He asked what she was doing there and she
said she might be needed. They looked around and found a drawing of a figure in
a box. They were wondering what it meant. They heard a noise and Roy turned
around to find Lucky. They tried to get some information from Lucky but
unsuccessfully. He said it was too late for his dad. Melissa told him that his
dad was alive, she had a call from him, that Luke led them there to the
catacombs. Roy insists that the message means something and Lucky knows what it
is! Lucky yells that it is the monster!
Laura continued to talk to Stefan in jail, and tells him that she believes he
didn't kill Chloe. She said they could help each other. She felt Helena was
trying to gaslight her by leaving reminders of Stavros around her house. She had
even thought she saw Stavros, she told Stefan.
At the lab, Helena told Stavros to quit roaming around town as Lucien Kane, he
will get caught. He mentioned the only one that had found him out so far was
Chloe and look where that got her. Helena is unhappy that Stavros hasn’t yet
killed Stefan.
DVD #24B Melissa
managed to draw him out and he talked about coming to Port Charles and hiding
down there, waiting for his mom and dad to find him. He was supposed to go to
Aunt Ruby if they didn't show up within four days. They left and Roy and Melissa
followed Lucky back to Laura's house. They went in and Lucky went to check on
his grandmother and sister. They didn't get any new information.
Stefan told Laura
about this guy that had told Chloe he knew Stefan, mentioning a word, caricos,
that was a word Stavros used to call Stefan. They got interrupted by Alexis a
couple of times. The second time she told Stefan that the DNA could only be from
a full-blooded relative, a sibling, if it wasn't his. After she left, he thought
more about what Laura had said and what he said and whispered Stavros' name.
9/25 Laura went
back to the jail to see Stefan. He was quite upset over his sudden epiphany. He
told Laura to listen carefully although he might sound mad. He told Laura that
Stavros was alive and that Helena had brought him back from the dead. Laura told
him that Helena was doing this to them just tormenting them. Stefan asked why
and why now? Stefan pointed out that they had both watched Katherine Bell fall
to her death and month's later Helena had saved her and she walked into a
courtroom. Laura started talking to herself and saying that it just can't be
possible, she saw him die, and he was a monster. At that moment, it hit her that
Lucky had told her on several occasions that the monster was back from the dead.
At first she thought it was Helena but she never left then Laura became afraid
and terrified. Stefan held her up. Laura immediately wanted to get to Lucky
because she knew he was part of the plan. Stefan told her to be safe.
Melissa was trying to add the pieces of the puzzle together but nothing really
added up for this situation, she says there is something wrong with Lucky. She
asked Roy to tell her what is going on?
Roy found Lucky at
the Port Charles Grill in a heated discussion with Helena. Helena was drilling
Elizabeth about the Ice Princess. She accused her of stealing it and demanded
its return. Lucky came in and told Helena it was him who stole the precious
diamond and she could no longer hurt him or his family. Lucky told he she was
going to pay for all that she had done to his family. Helena stood in shock and
reiterated that she and Lucky were friends. Nikolas jumped in the conversation
and defended his grandmother. Gia also jumped in and tried to get Lucky away
from this bad situation. Then Roy yelled out, “Lucky I need to talk to you
right now”. Lucky stopped and went over to Roy.
Roy quietly
removed Lucky from this dangerous situation. Lucky told Roy that he was not
finished with Helena and she had to pay. Roy told Lucky that he understood, but
now is not the time. Do not under estimate Helena. Lucky said he knew that
because Helena had already hurt his father. Roy told Lucky again that his father
called today and spoke to Melissa and that he is still alive. Lucky said but he
is not well. No but he is alive and we can help him. Lucky think some where in
the back of your mind you know where you dad might hide? Think about it. Lucky
came up with a place but doubted it. Roy reassured him that whatever you are
thinking about is worth a try to save your dad's life.
9/26 In Helena's room, Nikolas demands that Helena give him his birthright.
Helena protests that she needs to make sure he is prepared to handle it first
and proceeds to question Liz's loyalty to Nikolas. He replies that if she is
worried about his relationship with Liz, he'll end it with her just like he
ended it with Gia. "That was too easy," Helena answers.
Downstairs in the PC Grill, Gia quizzes Liz on her relationship with Nikolas.
Liz tries to stonewall her, but Gia insists that Liz tell her what she and
Nikolas are up to. When Liz tells Gia to mind her own business, Gia angrily
walks out of the restaurant.
Roy and Lucky arrive at the cabin. They call out for Luke, but no one answers.
The two decide to search the woods, but are unsuccessful in locating Lucky's
missing father. Lucky knows Luke was here at one point he tells Roy because he
left a Spencer omelet sitting on the counter. When Roy questions why Luke would
come here anyway, Lucky fills him in on why the cabin is an important place for
him and his dad. Luke and Roy continue to consider other places Luke might be
hiding when suddenly, Lucky tells Roy his mom is in danger and they must go to
her immediately.
A clearly frightened Laura sees Stavros' reflection in the mirror. She grabs a
baseball bat, cautiously unlocks her front door, and steps outside only to sense
a presence behind her. She whirls around with the bat and almost knocks Scott's
head off. He takes Laura back inside and tries to find out what has her so
rattled. He loves her and is worried about her he says. Laura does not tell him
about seeing Stavros. The two are interrupted by Scott's cell phone, the caller
has a lead on Luke. Laura begs Scott to follow up on it immediately. He consents
and leaves. Meanwhile, Stavros continues to lurk outside the house.
Nikolas demands Helena tell him what she wants from him. Helena feels he doesn't
have the sensibility to lead the family she replies. As the two continue to
argue, Gia creeps up to their hotel room door and overhears Helena tell Nikolas
she must think of another way to test his worthiness. Gia hides when Helena
leaves. Just as she is about to sneak away, Nikolas appears. "What are you
doing?" he angrily asks her. Gia tells Nikolas she is heading to her room.
She tells Nikolas that she tried talking to Liz at the Grill. She lies and tells
him the two could not have much of a conversation because the bartender kept
hitting on Liz. When Nikolas shows no reaction to this, Gia definitely realizes
something is up.
As Helena is exiting the PC Hotel, she and Liz run into each other. "You
win," Liz tells Helena. As a puzzled Helena listens, Liz explains that all
Helena's machinations have worked, Liz is committed to Nikolas and will even try
to get along with her for Nikolas' sake. As Liz retreats, Helena eyes her
pensively.
After Scott leaves, Laura hears noises both inside and outside her home. She
sees that one of her windows is open, and frightened, begins to move away from
it. What she doesn't see, as she looks frantically around, is Stavros, who has
entered her home and is heading towards her. All of the sudden, the lights go
out and Laura lets out a piercing scream. Roy and Lucky rush to her aid.
"He's here!, You've got to find him!" she shrieks as Roy races off to
search the house. When Lucky questions who "he" is, Laura breathlessly
replies, "The monster," as she grabs hold of him. Lucky tries to
comfort Laura. Roy returns and says that whoever was in her house got away.
However, he dropped this he says and opens his hank. Laura and Roy realize it is
a Cassadine medallion. When Roy shows her the markings on the back of it, she is
shocked. "It's his, Stavros."
9/27 Laura visited Stefan in
jail again. This time she told him her horrifying story of what had happened to
her the night before. She told him she saw Stavros in a mirror standing in her
window. Then she found a window cracked open and the lights went out. She said
she felt someone breathing on her neck and knew that he was there but then Lucky
and Roy crashed through the door and whoever it was got away. Stefan was
thankful she wasn't hurt but told her that since he can't get out to protect her
she must take her mother and daughter and leave the country. Laura refused and
then showed Stefan the Cassadine medallion Roy found on her living room carpet.
Stefan warns her that Stavros is still alive. He utters the word
"awaken" and it clicks with Laura that that was a password on one of
the discs that Luke had stolen from Helena. Stefan asks if she still has the
discs or can get them to him right away. Laura knows of one person who may have
then or know where they are and she leaves telling Stefan she'll be right back.
Laura shows up on Felicia's
doorstep asking for her help. Felicia wants to know whats going on because it
must be bad if she's asking for her help. Laura tells her that she's trying to
find Luke since he's been missing and Felicia realizes that Helena must have
gotten to him and that's why he acted so strangely toward her before she left
town. She locates the discs and gives them to Laura. Laura then asks to borrow
her laptop and Felicia gives it to her but asks her to let her know if she can
be of any help. Laura brings the discs to Stefan in jail and he gets to the
point where Luke and Laura hit a wall and he thinks of a word that could break
the code "Lazarus." Suddenly something opens and the both gasp. As
Stefan works his way through the codes they realize it's medical terminology and
then the dreaded words appear "Cryogentically frozen." Horrified they
realize that Helena has done it. She has brought Stavros back from the dead!
Gia breaks into Nikolas' room intent of searching it when she hears Helena
coming. She ducks behind a bar and listens as Nikolas and Helena go at it, each
with the intent of breaking the other. Gia is blown away by the things she hears
Nikolas say such as "no woman is worth losing his fortune or place in the
family", and that he'll dump Elizabeth if that's what Helena wants,
claiming that he just wants what is his and that women are for pleasure only
Elizabeth and Lucky discuss their past. Elizabeth tells him that she'll stick by
him no matter what he says and they'll be together forever. Just then Lucky
whispers under his breath "Unbreakable lock" which elates Elizabeth.
That's what they used to say to each other and it gives her some hope that he's
slowly remembering their time together. Lucky then tells her that because of
what he's feeling he cannot be with her and she needs to go. Elizabeth still
says that he loves her and she loves him and that will never change and that
it's because of that love that he's protecting her. She turns and leaves and
Lucky starts to run after her, but stops on the porch. You can see the hurt and
mixed feelings he's having watching her leave.
9/28 Stefan and Laura were
stunned when they realized Stavros was alive. Stefan then realized that Stavros
was the one who killed Chloe and became enraged. He begged Laura to take her
family and hide but she refused stating she wasn't going to scare her anymore.
Back at the Spencer house, Lucky got a call from Luke who told him to find Roy
and relay the message that he had to hustle and that there wasn't much time. As
Lucky was leaving to find Roy, Scott arrived at the house. He asked Scott to
stay with LuLu until Laura got home. When she returned she was relieved to find
Scott there.
Nikolas arrived at Liz's and told her of his final test. She was horrified to
learn he was to kill her but then realized they could use it to their advantage;
They would find a way to make it appear to Helena that that he had done as she
asked. Reluctantly Nikolas agreed to the plan.
Gia ran into Stavros and relayed to him how she overheard Helena tell Nikolas to
kill Elizabeth. She said that though Elizabeth is not her favorite person she
doesn't want to see her dead. Stavros convinced her not to go to the police with
what she knows as she never heard Nikolas say he would do it. Later, Gia arrived
at Liz's place and told her they needed to talk immediately.
10/1 Laura came by to ask Bobbie about a drug that could simulate death; make it
look like someone was dead when they weren't, just long enough to fool someone.
Bobbie said there was and went and got it. She told Laura more than the regular
dose and the person really would be dead.
Scott dragged Nikolas into the living room, saying he caught him sneaking
around. Nikolas said something about his father and Laura slipped and said
"so you know already." Nikolas made a comment about Laura only
remembering him when it suited her. Scott told him to give Laura respect. Laura
told Scott it was okay, she could handle it. Nikolas told Laura he needed to
speak to her alone and Scott went to make himself a sandwich. Nikolas told Laura
that Helena had given him one final task to prove his loyalty and that was to
kill Elizabeth. He knew that Laura had faked her death before so figured she
could help. Laura said she would and Nikolas left. Scott told Laura he should
move in for the duration and Laura had to think about it. She did tell him she
had to go out and would feel better if he was there with her mother and Lulu.
Roy and Lucky found a clue that led them to a bar. On the outside was another
drawing of a coffin, this time without the stick figure inside. They went inside
the bar and Roy managed to get some info out of the bartender; he had to pay
him, of course. The guy told them about Luke hitting on his girl. Lucky went and
talked to the girl and found another clue that took them to a cemetary, where
they found the place Stavros was presumably buried. There was a hole punched out
where Stavros' name was and Lucky found Luke lying there instead.
Gia came to see Elizabeth and tell her to quit seeing Nikolas. Of course she
didn't tell Elizabeth about overhearing the plot to kill her so Elizabeth just
figured she was jealous and wanted to get Nikolas back. Gia asked Elizabeth if
they could be friends, hang out together. She didn't want her with Nikolas since
she knew Helena wanted Nikolas to kill Elizabeth. Nikolas came by and he told
Gia to let it go, he was with Elizabeth; they were going away together for a few
days.
10/2 Lucky, Roy, and Melissa were lucky today because they found Luke. In all
the irony they found him in Stavros' tomb. Lucky was spooked when he shined the
flash light inside. Roy calmed him down and asked Melissa to help pull Luke out
of the tomb. To Lucky's relief Luke was only sleeping. He was still alive but
not in good condition. Upon talking to Luke, Roy discovered that Luke thought it
was 1979. Luke went on for a while about him and Roy working a deal for Frank
Smith. In a matter of seconds Luke was saying he did not know any of the people
surrounding him and that he was not going anywhere. Roy asked Lucky and Melissa
to step out of the room for a moment while he talked to Luke. Roy tried to
explain things but Luke was not responding. Then Roy found the magic word Laura.
A light came on in Luke's eyes, he responded immediately to the sound of her
name.
Roy promised to bring Laura
to Luke if he would leave with him. Luke agreed. Lucky and Melissa rushed in and
informed them that Helena's henchmen were roaming the premises too. The group
agreed to split up and also Roy told Lucky that he could not know where his
father would be kept because they did not want to risk Helena extracted this
information from his brain. Roy took Luke to this cabin in the woods. He
explained to Luke that he had called for his sister's help. At that moment there
was a knock at the door, it was Laura. Roy prepared her prior to entering that
Luke was in and out of time, date, and place. As Laura walked in the room Luke
stood up and smiled. He was just so joyous to see her. They hugged each other
close and Laura thought was has Helena done to you.
Gia was trying everything under the sun to get her old Nikolas back. She tried
to woo him. She explained how he changed her life from being so superficial to
having meaning. She told him he taught her how to love and she wanted him back.
Gia pleaded with Nikolas saying that it was not to late for them. She pulled
Nikolas closer and began to kiss him. Nikolas kissed and hugged back. They
started to kiss repeatedly. You could tell that they both still loved one
another. Then Nikolas pulled back and reminded Gia that she was only setting
herself up for the fall. Nikolas told her that he did not want to hurt her, but
it seemed to be the only way. Gia was exhausted by this point and Nikolas had
begun to yell it is too late and he cannot go back on what his grandmother has
asked. Nikolas walked out. Later at the docks Nikolas ran into Helena and
confirmed that he had accepted her final test. Needless to say Helena was quite
pleased by the news. She reached out to Nikolas and they hugged. Unfortunately
Gia had followed Nikolas to the docks and overheard everything. Gia is
headed straight for danger now.
10/3 Nikolas tells his
delighted grandmother he's decided to poison Elizabeth. Meanwhile, Gia turns to
"Lucien" for advice on how to save Nikolas' latest flame from his
murderous intentions. Laura reassures a weeping Luke, who believes he's seeing
her for the first time in years. Helena invites Elizabeth to a cozy dinner for
three aboard the Cassadine yacht. "Lucien" again advises Gia to let
him handle her difficult and dangerous problem. Laura manages to jog Luke's
memory about their reunion almost twenty years before, then cautiously reveals
that Stavros is once again in their midst.
10/4 Laura continued trying
to get through to Luke. His memory is still stuck back in 1979 and the disco
days. Seeing Scott enraged him and he told Laura to go home with her husband and
leave him alone. Laura tried to convince Luke and Scott that she was staying and
tried to get Luke to focus on the here and now. Scott was desperate to take
Laura home and feared that Luke would hurt her like he did back then. He
insisted that she leave with him now and told her that Luke was like a rabid dog
and was not well. Laura told him to wait outside then she continued grilling
Luke on where Helena's lab is.
It seemed for a second that
Luke was remembering a little bit and then Bobbie walked in. Luke was happy to
see her and threw his arms around her. Bobbie talked Laura into going home with
Scott and she would try to get through to Luke and take care of him for the
night. Scott was frustrated that Laura still will not tell him what's going on
but he took her home and Bobbie started calming Luke down. They talked about the
old days as if they were yesterday and Bobbie told him about Lucas and how she
named him after Luke. She tried to jog his memory by reminding him of when Lucas
got sick because Helena poisoned him and told Luke that he had to remember where
her lab was. He became agitated so Bobbie gave him a sedative and had him lay
down. Eventually, he fell asleep while talking about Ruby and his baby sister.
Kristina shows up at the jail wearing a baseball cap and jacket. Alexis and
Stefan berate her for going out like that without protection no less and tell
her it's not safe. Kristina isn't interested in hearing it and abruptly asks
Stefan if he killed Chloe. He, of course, says he did not. Kristina wants to
know why Jax thinks he did. Stefan tells her that he did hurt her in the past
and he has done some awful things to try to win Helena's approval but that is
over and he loved Chloe. Jax arrives and asks Kristina what she thinks
she's doing. She tells him that she had to see her brother and ask him some
questions. Stefan tells Kristina that he wants her safe and so does Jax so leave
with him and stay out of sight. Kristina reluctantly agrees and she and Jax
leave. Alexis wants to know what is going on with Stefan. He lets Kristina leave
with Jax and now he's basically giving her his power of attorney and wants her
to go to Wyndemere and open the safe and take all of the stocks and money that's
there. He wants her and Kristina to be safe and cared for. Alexis wants to know
what he's planning and if Laura is involved.
Stavros is still playing with Gia. This time though Gia overhears him talking to
Helena on the docks but not enough to hear that he's her son. She becomes
suspicious though and dodges his invitation to dinner. She asks if he got any
information from Helena on whether Nikolas was going to kill Elizabeth. He tells
her that he didn't get the impression of that and that he thinks maybe she
didn't hear correctly. Gia makes a hasty exit with Stavros hot on her trail. Gia
arrives at Laura's to speak to Lucky. She asks Lucky why he reacts so strongly
when he sees "Lucien Cane"? Lucky just says that he's bad news and
that his blood runs cold when he's in the same room with him. Gia digs further
and asks why he feels that way? She wants specifics. Outside, Stavros is lurking
on the porch listening. Gia takes Lucky's hand and says that they need to go
somewhere. Stavros hides but again follows them to the docks. There, Lucky tells
Gia that he's positive Nikolas wouldn't kill Elizabeth. When Gia agrees that
maybe he's right but Helena would, Lucky tells her to stay put and he'll be
back. After he leaves, Stavros confronts Gia and says that he can't trust her
anymore.
Back on the yacht, Nikolas and Helena are discussing the dinner tonight with
Elizabeth and she gives him her "special" powder for him to put into
her drink. She tells him that it's odorless and tasetless and that she won't
know what hit her. Painless. Nikolas is obviously having a hard time with all of
this and is having second thoughts because when he was practicing putting the
drops that Laura gave him into a bottle, he messed up and put too many. He's not
sure if this is the right thing. Elizabeth arrives after saying her farewells to
Lucky and tries to make nice with Helena. They sit down to dinner and are ready
to make the toast and just as Elizabeth puts the glass to her lips, when Lucky
comes to the rescue! Elizabeth and Nikolas take a deep breath and exchange
glances. Their plan is interrupted.
10/5 Gia was confronted by
Stavros in the dock but managed to make him believe that even though she told
Lucky about what was happening with Nikolas and Lucky, he wasn't going to do
anything saying that he didn't believe her. Meanwhile Lucky showed up at the
yacht and tried to convince Liz to leave with him. He claimed her food was
poisoned by Helena and promptly threw her plate to the floor. He then did the
same with the glass of wine she was holding. Nikolas knocked him unconscious
after he refused to leave and Helena called her henchman to take him from the
yacht why Nikolas told them to take him somewhere safe.
Alexis showed up at Laura's demanding to know what had Stefan so scared. Scotty
also wanted to know but she told him he had to trust her and said that she
wasn't going to involve him in her problems. After he left Alexis again demanded
to know what was going on and Laura told her that she and Stefan believed
Stavros was alive. She told her about the disks explaining how to bring someone
back to life, but Alexis believed that it was just Helena playing with their
heads.
Jax arrived at the jail to see Stefan, wondering why he would trust the man he
despised. He wanted to know what Stefan knew, but he would only tell Jax if he
would help him break out of jail with Jax refused to do.
On the Cassadine Yacht, Nikolas poured a new glass of wine with the sleeping
drug after giving Elizabeth one glass then switched his with hers. Helena
worried that he took the drugged one but then Elizabeth started to sway on her
feet. She cried that Nikolas had killed her and he cried and stroked her hair
until she closed her eyes. Helena went to call her henchmen but Nikolas told her
he would take care of Liz himself. After Helena left Nikolas tried to wake Liz
and grew frightened when he couldn't. Back on the dock, Stavros ran into
Helena's men with Lucky. He told the men to go and then after waking Lucky told
him that he would never interfere with the Cassadines again and threw him, bound
and gagged into the river.
Laura arrived at the jail telling Stefan they had to break him out before Alexis
put her guards on to watch him. Alexis went to confront Helena but when she
arrived she heard Helena talking to Stavros and realized Stefan and Laura were
right.
10/8 Nikolas was trying to
get Elizabeth to wake up when Lucky walked in, soaking wet after his dunk in the
river. He told Nikolas to get away from her and Nikolas tried to tell him it
wasn't what he thought. Lucky went over to her and he was telling her how it was
his fault that this happened. He believed Elizabeth was really dead.
Alexis was listening at the
door and heard for herself that Laura wasn't crazy when she heard Stavros’
voice. She backed up in shock and knocked into a table, making a noise. Helena
came to the door and found her. Luckily she had no idea that Alexis heard
Stavros' voice. Alexis came in commenting that she thought she heard an intruder
but it was just a vulture, referring to Helena. Helena asked Alexis to join her
in having a glass of champagne; she hated to drink alone. Alexis declined and
said she would have more friends if she didn't keep killing them all. She went
to look in the safe for some papers pertaining to the estate. Helena said it was
open. The papers Alexis was looking for were gone and Helena said that, of
course, Stefan was two steps behind himself.
Alexis left and Stavros came
out of hiding. They talked about all the Spencers soon being a bad memory.
Stavros insists that there is the little matter of Laura still to be settled.
