Spencer vs Cassidine #21  March 20 - May 16, 2001 - 8 hour original edit

DVD #21A  Helena has declared war with Luke Spencer again. After putting Lucky into a trance and giving him a knife. Lucky pulled the knife on Jason Morgan  and told him that Elizabeth was his and no one else's. Jason being an extremely capable opponent took Lucky down. Unfortunately Lucky would not stay down. Jason had to really pound on Lucky. At the instance when Jason was inflicted his final kick Elizabeth arrived and was horrified. She yelled Jason stop. Jason knew that he was in the worst possible position and with no way out. Elizabeth immediately went to Lucky's defense and blasted Jason for his wrongdoing. She added insult to injury and did not allow Jason to explain. She ordered him to leave, he did, but Jason listened as Lucky slammed the door shut on Jason's friendship with Elizabeth.

Helena was admiring the Ice Princess and her impending victory over Luke. She gloated to Andreas about her hold of Lucky and how the second phase of his programming was going so well. Lucky will be violent when angry, but he won't remember a thing. He will always think that he was the victim. Helena told Andreas to pack his bags tonight because he was going to Istanbul, Turkey to retrieve the CD's; they were too valuable a commodity to have them half way around the world. Little does Helena know that the CD's are so close to her in Luke's precious hands. It appears this battle will get messy soon.

3/21 Luke and Helena exchanged conversation about the Ice Princess aboard Helena's yacht. Helena sent Andreas to Istanbul to bring back the disc from the bank deposit box.

Lucky drew a knife on Jason at the docks because he was angry and upset about Elizabeth's attraction to Jason. Jason quickly disarmed Lucky and proceeded to punch Lucky out when Elizabeth stopped the fight. Lucky, under Helena's programming did not remember he instigated the fight and accused Jason of attacking him out the blue. Elizabeth angrily told Jason to leave and took Lucky to the hospital.

3/22 Luke spends a sleepless night trying to break the code on the CDs he swiped from Helena. Laura gasps in dismay when Lucky walks into her office with his arm in a sling and a face full of bruises.  Felicia tells Luke she wants to share more of his life than just the occasional wild adventure. Lucky tells his mother that Jason viciously attacked him without provocation.

3/23 Laura went to see Luke to talk about Lucky. She told him she thought Lucky was in danger but not from the Cassadines. She told him about Jason beating up Lucky. She said he must have got mad about Elizabeth and Lucky and took it out on Lucky. She was surprised that Jason would do that to Lucky when Lucky never did anything to Jason. Laura was talking about what Elizabeth would see in Jason and it brought her back to their past. Luke commented that no matter how far a person traveled, they always end up in the same place. He was telling Laura that he would go see Jason when Lucky came in. He told Luke to stay out of it; he was not his little boy anymore. Laura said to wait till he had children of his own, he would protect them. Lucky said he would know when they were grown up to stay out of their lives. Luke asked Laura if he could be alone with Lucky. Lucky agreed and Laura left. Lucky told Luke to respect him enough to leave him alone to make his own mistakes. He brought up the rape again.

Andreas was back with the discs from the safety deposit box. Helena commented about how stupid Luke was for leaving the discs behind. Because he was so intent on getting the Ice Princess he missed what was in front of his nose; his one-way ticket to hell. She soon found out different. She had Andreas put the first disc in the computer and guess what she heard? Blues music instead of what was supposed to be on them. I guess the joke was on her this time. "Those are the wrong discs, Luke has stolen the other ones," she exclaimed.

3/26 Helena was mad that the discs weren't the right ones. She told Andreas that Luke had stolen them and she wanted them back, tonight. She didn't care what she had to do to get them back. "It's over for you, Luke," she threatened.  Later she was on the phone instructing someone to get the discs back. She was authorizing them to do whatever it took to get them back. Andreas came in and disconnected the phone. She demanded to know what he was doing. He told her Luke would be expecting her to try to get them back. He doesn't know what's on the discs, can't decipher the code. They should wait, have the element of surprise. He apologized if he was stepping out of line. She agreed that's the better way to go. This had to be done carefully.

Luke had some kind of weird dream about running down corridors, screaming out Lucky and Lulu's names. He woke up screaming to find Felicia there. She asked if he was okay. He said he was okay and asked what time it was. She said it was about 8:00 p.m. He asked how she got in and she said she knocked but he didn't answer. She heard him scream so picked the lock. "Good for you, my favorite little Private Eye," he said affectionately. He went and got cleaned up and when he came back Felicia had made him some tea to relax. He said she wouldn't find that stuff at his place. She said she carried it around for emergencies. She had her hands held out to him and it triggered a memory of the dream. He abruptly stood up, spilling the tea. She asked what was wrong with him, he just looked at her. He told her that before Lucky was presumed dead they had fixed things between them, now Lucky was back to hating him. Felicia put on a record and told Luke to put himself in her hands.

Laura was reading to Leslie Lu and was losing her voice. She told her she had to stop and told her to go brush her teeth. Lulu asked if her daddy was coming tonight. Laura said no but he loved her and was thinking of her. Laura was turning off lights and locking up when she heard a noise outside. She kind of ignored it and turned away when she heard it again. She looked out and saw Lulu's bike. She had picked up a fireplace poker and took it outside with her to pick up the bike. She heard a noise and swung the poker. It turned out to be Scott.

She took him inside and brought him some ice for his head, apologizing profusely. He said she just grazed him. She asked why he was walking around outside her house in the dark, he scared her half to death. "I'm the one who got clubbed," he protested. She asked why he didn't just ring the doorbell like a normal person. He said there were no lights on and he was going to go around to the kitchen to see if she was there. He was leaving when the porch light came on. She asked him to phone next time. He said he had left messages and thought maybe she was ducking him, so came to see what was up. She told him she had a bad day, telling him about Jason and Lucky. She said things from the past had crept up and weren't letting go. Laura told him that the Jason, Lucky and Elizabeth situation reminded her of Scott, Luke and herself. She said she had betrayed him, Scott, destroying what they had. She was crying. She was sorry for what she had done. Scott suggested they go slow. She admitted to him that when he had kissed her the other day, she went weak in the knees. That pleased him. They kissed again and he asked her how her knees were.

3/29 Helena salivates at the thought of making Luke pay for his crimes. Lucky apologizes to his surprised father for the harsh remarks he made earlier. Luke is touched when Lucky offers to help him out with his money troubles. Luke is forced to fight off two of Helena's goons after they jump him in his back room.

3/30  Laura showed up and asked Elton if Mrs. Corinthos deigned to show her presence. Elton said she was in her office. Laura was going to go in but he said there was a wonderful surprise in her office. "A wonderful surprise beats Carly anyday," she said. She went into her office, taking the mail with her. She threw it on her desk. She saw Lucky there, her surprise. She was happy to see him. He told her he had seen Luke the night before and he was having financial troubles. She said he still kept up his child support payments. He said Luke would dig ditches to make sure that got paid. Laura told Lucky if he didn't want his father to worry about him, don't worry about his father. She said it was always feast or famine with him.

Laura was sitting at her desk when Carly came in. Carly knew the ad campaign had been delivered and Elton had put it in Laura's office. She was giving Laura this big song and dance about working together better; that she, Carly should do better. She had her eye on the folder; she didn't want Laura opening it.

4/2 Carly grabbed the mail off Laura's desk and said she shouldn't have to open the junk mail. Laura said she liked going through the mail and it wasn't junk mail. There was an envelope from Chong Rinehart. Carly said they could deal with that later. Elton came flying into the room with some urgent messages. He said since the launch party the phone hadn't stopped ringing. He said if they were smart they would hire an assistant for him. Laura took the urgent messages and Carly the not-so-important ones and agreed to meet for lunch and discuss Elton's to do list. Later, Carly managed to snatch the envelope off Elton's desk and take it into her office.

Gia went to see Laura and asked for one of the pictures from her test shoot. Laura asked if this meant she was pursuing a modeling career. Gia said she hadn't decided on that, she wanted to frame the picture and give it to Nikolas. Laura said she would have a complete set messengered to the cottage that afternoon. Gia thanked her and thanked her for everything she did for her, giving her the chance to test for the job. Laura said if she did pursue modeling she would do everything she could for her.

Gia had a bad dream about being on trial for all her lies and blackmailing. Carly, Elizabeth, Laura and Emily all called her liar and even Nikolas rejected her. She woke up yelling which woke Nikolas up. He kissed her and she told him she had a bad dream.

4/3 Luke was working on a plan to make money fast. He went back the Helena's yacht to do some bargaining with the valuable diskettes. Helena returned and Luke began the negotiation process. All efforts came to a stop when Stefan appeared and wanted to know what was of such value that Helena wanted from Luke.

4/4 Laura comes to the blues club for some straight talk with Luke about his financial woes, but her estranged husband stubbornly refuses to accept any assistance.

4/5 Laura confides to Bobbie how she's going to go ahead with her plan to save the blues club despite Luke's total resistance to the very idea. Across town, Luke reminds Helena to cough up a million dollars by nightfall if she wishes to have her property returned. After Luke runs Elton off the premises, Laura marches into the club and informs her ex that come hell or high water he will be hosting Deception's next party. Felicia decides the time has come to declare her love to Luke. Later, Felicia is crushed to witness a tender moment between Laura and Luke.

4/6 Helena had $1,000,000.00 in a case ready to give Luke in exchange for the discs. She told Andreas if only Luke knew what he had; the discs were the weapons to destroy him and his family. "To think of his agony when he realizes what he has sold me," she smiled wickedly. Stefan came in and commented on the familiar aroma of his mother moving in for the kill. "Where's Spencer, lashed to the bow?" he asked.

"As usual, obsessing in the wrong direction," Helena mocked him. "If you must be haunted by Luke Spencer, please do it elsewhere."

"Mother, your evasions become more transparent by the day; why don't you do yourself and me a favor and tell me all about your dealings with Luke Spencer," Stefan chided her.

Luke showed up later and asked Helena, who was at the computer, if she was in that romantic chat room with Charlie Manson again. "We are here to do business," Helena said, opening up the case with the money. She said she had to run a test on the discs to verify what was on them. "Why, don't you trust me?" Luke asked innocently. She just looked at him. He asked for the blues discs and she held them up for him to see. He said he didn't have the discs with him; he found they increased in value the longer he held onto them. He was there to offer her something even better.

Luke and Laura argued round and round about how he'll deal with the club, he doesn't need her help. She said she's just as responsible for his debt since they're still husband and wife. She told him she had already announced the Deception party to be held there. He told her to un-announce it. She finally got him to agree to let her have her party there. She said Elton would look after everything; just let him come in and do his job. She gave him the envelope with the rent money in it. She invited him but he said he didn't like parties. "So stay away," she said. He said he might come for one drink if his sale goes well.

"Okay, I'll bite, what are you selling?" she asked. He said he couldn't tell her, but he could say he had two buyers feverishly interested. Laura left, telling Luke she was going to let Elton and his crew in, so be nice.

Roy came in, kicked a stool, then proceeded to pour himself a drink. "What's up?" Luke asked. Roy went on about Sonny and told Luke he lied to Alexis to pay a debt to Sonny Corinthos.

Stefan went to see Luke and warned him to consider his deal, he would be getting twice the money that Helena was paying and it would only make her happy to get what she wanted. Laura came in and saw the two of them together. She asked Luke after if she wanted to know what that was about. He told her probably not. Roy came over and told Laura she looked wonderful. She thanked him and asked if he got stuck babysitting. "Now that really hurts my feelings; I was told you asked for me specifically," Roy said.

Lucky and Elizabeth made their appearance and Laura told Elizabeth how beautiful she looked. She asked Elizabeth if she was nervous and Elizabeth said she just wanted to get through the evening. Laura told her what was important was how much she wanted to be the face of Deception. Nikolas and Gia arrived and Gia and Laura complimented each other on being beautiful. Laura said she was glad they came. Nikolas commented on the good turnout and Laura said the change in location gave them a little buzz.

Cameron Austin, Belle Magazine, introduced himself to Laura. She thanked him for coming. He said his magazine wanted to rush a fashion layout for Gia for the next month's issue. His editor ordered him to be first in line to book a couple of days with Gia. Laura said there must be some confusion because Gia wasn't on contract with Deception. "Then what's this?" he asks Laura as he shows her the layout in the magazine with Gia's picture.

4/9 Laura told Cameron there must be some mistake, referring to the magazine layout. He said he was the fashion editor of Belle Magazine, how could there be a mistake. She told him Gia was not the new face of Deception. He said she should be. Laura held up the magazine and asked Gia what she knew about it. Gia told her she didn't pose for the picture, it was one of her old test shots. Laura showed the picture to Lucky and he recognized it as one of the test shots he had done. Scott said there was no problem; they would sue Carly, take Sonny's 1% and do what they like with Deception. Nikolas agreed with Scott. Laura didn't want a lawsuit, she just wanted to sell perfume.

"Yeah, with Elizabeth as your signature model," Lucky said, drawing Elizabeth to his side. "A lawsuit would generate the kind of press we don't want right now," Laura said. Gia asked what she was going to do. Laura said she was going to have her party, make her announcement and worry about all this later.

Laura apologized to Cameron for the mixup with the ad. She said Gia came really close but they had their new face and she wanted him to meet her. She introduced him to Elizabeth, he complimented her, but didn't hang around. He went back to Gia. He told her she was a star, she had real style.

Lucky was angry on Elizabeth's behalf and couldn't understand why she was so calm. Laura asked to speak to Elizabeth alone. Laura told Elizabeth that she did seem pretty calm and Elizabeth said it was just a picture in a magazine and it was a beautiful one. Laura said it should have been her in the ad, not Gia. She asked Elizabeth if she should have let her resign when she wanted to.

Luke came in and Scott told Laura it was her turn to punch him; he would probably have nothing good to say. Luke came over and told Laura it was a nice party. Melissa arrived and introduced herself to Laura. Laura told Scott to look at the picture of Gia, then look at the girl herself. She wanted to know what he thought. He said Elizabeth really was pretty. Laura said Elizabeth really wanted to be anywhere but here. Laura went to make her announcement. She thanked everyone for coming and hoped they were all having a good time. Carly came in, water logged since she refused to stay in the limo that was stuck in traffic. Laura started the announcement, "the new face of Deception is....".

Luke was scrutinizing and counting the money in the briefcase. Helena asked him where her discs were and slammed the lid on the case, just missing Luke's fingers. "You made me lose my count," he protested. "That's not all you're going to lose; you're not entitled to one single penny," Helena told him. He told her she could keep the Ice Princess; he would keep the discs and money. He said if she was sweet and subservient he would give her a chance to buy it all back before he makes a deal with Count Vlad. She said he would never make a deal with Stefan. He took the briefcase and left. Frustrated, Helena threw her glass against the door. Luke peeked back in, "you missed me," he said.

4/10 Carly made it to Luke's just in time to hear Laura finally announced the Face of Deception; and the model is Gia Campbell! Everyone, except for Lucky, was thrilled about the news. Nikolas and Gia hugged and even Laura herself finally recognized that Carly was right. Laura acknowledged that Carly was correct and told her that is why she chose Gia; her decision was based on all the right reasons. Lucky was steaming from the news. Elizabeth was quite relieved. Laura went over to Lucky and Elizabeth to apologize. She told Elizabeth that she had finally heard her and realized that she really did not want to be the Face of Deception. Lucky was still angry, but Laura stuck to her decision and told them both that she loved them.

Luke was making friendly with Laura until Scott interrupted. Once they left, then Felicia moved quickly out the door. Luke yelled her name and tried to get her attention, but he was unsuccessful. Scott returned Laura home safely. She told him that she had him to thank for how great she felt tonight. You have been incredibly supportive and you let me sink or swim on my own. “I don't' know why you are surprised when you do well. Well looks good on you Laura”, Scott stated. Then Scott went in for the kiss and scored. He backed up for a moment and told Laura that he wanted her back and he knew that it was the right thing. Scott told her good night and left. Laura smiled as he walked away from her home.

4/11 Helena gleefully hints to Stefan that a major storm is on the horizon.

4/12 Laura returned to her office after the big party and found it filled with flowers, compliments of Scott. As she was admiring his gift, he came in and continued to lavish her with praise. Leslie interrupted by stopping by to wish her daughter well.

Carly came to the office and told Laura that Sonny had given her his one percent of the company, making her an equal partner. Laura made it clear that as far as she was concerned, nothing had changed and she was there to stay. Realizing what distrust her past actions had caused, Carly told Laura she didn't blame her for being angry and that she would be angry too! Both ladies agreed that Gia was the right choice and that it was time to move forward as equal partners.

Scott returned to find Laura optimistic about a new beginning with Carly. He expressed skepticism, but agreed to leave Laura to the decision-making.

4/13 Roy gets the foreclosure papers from the bank man that tells him "The only thing that can save this club is a shower of money from the heavens." Luke enters and says, "Will a suitcase full do?" He opens a suitcase and shows its contents to Roy and the man from the bank, telling them this is going to be a simple transaction. "Lady Luck smiles on the pure of heart," he tells them. Helena shows up at the club and questions Luke about double-crossing her after she supposedly paid for his silence to Stefan.

Stefan learns that Helena has transferred 1 million dollars into her personal account. He phones her and tells her "We need to talk immediately regarding $1 million transferred out of the Estate to pay Luke for certain favors. Get here immediately or I will have you arrested for embezzlement." Nikolas goes to see Stefan and hides when he hears Helena and Stefan coming.

Helena and Stefan discuss Nikolas in great length not knowing he is hiding behind the door. Helena tells Stefan "Nikolas is becoming more of a problem everyday, surrounding himself with nobodies, such as Laura and her other offspring and that social climbing Gia." Stefan also lets Helena know that he has moved to stop Alexis "Natasha" from becoming named Trustee of the Cassadine Estate. Helena tells Stefan, " You have never been able to keep me from getting what I want." Nikolas steps out from where he is hiding and says, "Maybe not but I can!!" Both are shocked to see him. Nikolas lets them both know he is not a pawn that they can fight over.

4/16 Nikolas went to the island to see his uncle, and overheard Stefan and Helena discussing strategy for controlling the Cassadine fortune. Nikolas flew into a rage and told them he wouldn't be their pawn anymore. He tore the family Bible apart and ripped pages out while he shouted that he would no longer be a Cassadine. Nikolas said, "I'm renouncing my heritage and joining my mother’s family, the Spencers." After watching his nephew storm out, Stefan goaded his mother, questioning her judgment and telling her she needs his help to solve her problem. "Soon, the Spencers will mean nothing to him," Helena claimed.

Luke asked for Lucky's help in deciphering the discs, but Lucky refused, saying that he and Nikolas have agreed to not get involved in the Spencer/Cassadine war. Laura came home during this conversation and accused Luke of trying to draft Lucky into his never-ending vendetta. "It's going to get violent and ugly, and God help you if you involve Lucky in that," Laura snapped. "Laura, Lucky is involved. I'm just trying to get answers!" Luke replied.

Laura reiterated that it was time for her and her family to move on. After leaving Laura's house, he realized that he would not be able to convince her that Lucky was still in danger.

Lucky stormed out of the house filled with rage and went down to the wharf where he ran into Nikolas. The two brothers vented mutual anger over their family situations, not realizing that Helena was just out of sight, listening in. When Lucky told Nikolas that his father was planning a move on Helena, Nikolas expressed his approval. After Nikolas left, Helena came out of the shadows and triggered Lucky's programmed response by showing him the ice princess.

4/17 Lucky tried to resist, but he was in so much pain that he relinquished and submitted to Helena. She being so smug, just boasted about how much she would enjoy taking Luke down with his own son. After she left, Lucky fell off his feet onto the bench and sat in a trance until Elizabeth arrived. Elizabeth startled Lucky, but he did not come out of the lock until a few minutes more. Elizabeth tried to question him about it, but he became defensive and she backed off. She wanted him to come with her to Kelly's so they could snuggle and past time. Lucky said no because he has something to do, but he could not tell her what. Elizabeth pondered as Lucky walked away. Later, Helena returned to the pier to gloat over Elizabeth's lack of knowledge of Lucky's whereabouts.

Bobbie told Melissa in no uncertain terms to stay away from Roy. Luke walked off the elevator at this moment and over heard Bobbie. He went over to Melissa who apologized to him for her part in this. He asked if she had shot Roy. She replied no. Then Luke provided her with the best two lines of wisdom. Melissa asked what if Roy dies? Luke said then the people that love him will never get over him. He continues and said let me share something with you. Just because you mean well, doesn't mean that things will go well. Luke proceeded to go find Bobbie and comfort her.

Nikolas caught up to Stefan at Alexis' home. Nikolas was furious that his Uncle had even gone to Alexis. Stefan did and said everything possible to change his mind. Nothing was working.

4/18 Scotty blindfolds Laura and takes her to Jake'. He rented the whole place and is going to teach her to play pool, something she has wanted to do when they were married. Laura ends up beating  him. She knew how to play all along and gives Scott a kiss.

Luke has a repeat of his dream he has been having where he is trapped in a maze. Lucky shows up and tells him " I have decided to help decode your discs?" Luke is surprised and opens the safe to get the discs, but finds that they're gone. Helena goes to a place that looks just like the place in Luke's dream.

4/20 Luke went to the hospital, and let Roy know that the disks had been stolen. Luke told Roy that he had made copies, and was thinking about Stefan's offer to buy them.  Bobbie encountered Luke while he was there, and reiterated that Roy's shooting was Melissa's fault. Bobbie lamented over her decision to co-exist with Roy's ex. "Next time don't be so noble," warned Luke.

Alexis delivered notice to Stefan of Nikolas's intention to renounce the Cassadine name and fortune. She reminded him of the protective and loving brother and uncle that he was in the past, and advised him to let Nikolas make his own decisions. Although he was clearly moved by her, he was still furious, maintained that Alexis and Nikolas would not succeed.

4/23 Luke told Laura that Lucky was acting like he was when he first came back from being held captive. He had refused to help Luke with the discs; then he came back and offered to help but the discs were gone. He wasn't too upset to see the discs gone and Laura asked if Luke thought that Lucky had stolen them for Helena. He thought so. Laura didn't think things were as dire as Luke thought. She told him to forget about the discs and get on with his life. He said he would as soon as he knew the Cowboy was okay, meaning Lucky.

Helena gave Lucky a vial of liquid and told him to hide it and never let on to anyone he had it. Later, Luke got on Helena's yacht and went to her computer but couldn't do anything before he heard voices. He hid and heard Helena come in, then Laura, who asked Helena what she had done to Lucky.

4/24 Lucky encountered only Tony and Lucas because Bobbie was not home. Lucky made up a story about needing an extra key for his apartment so that Tony would leave the room. Lucky then distracted Lucas while he pulled out the vile. It appeared that Lucky was going to pour the poison into Lucas' milk. The next scene was when Lucky returned to his room at Kelly's and he pulled out an empty vile.

On Helena's yacht, Laura confronted Helena about Lucky's strange behavior. Helena tried to avoid Laura's questions about Lucky but Laura was relentless. Laura told Helena to stay away from her son, but this only fueled Helena more. She reminded Laura of her son, that she lost Stavros. How she was robbed. Then she threatened Laura. Luke popped out from behind the bar and backs Laura. Helena at this moment has closed up and was not revealing any additional information with the two of them there. Helena only rattles Laura further by mentioning how many times Luke has been there with Felicia. Luke and Laura leave the yacht, but Laura is not convinced of anything. She told Luke that she does not know what to believe and that he is partly responsible for Lucky being in this predicament. It angers her when Luke treats this whole thing like it's a game when it really Lucky's life. Laura just asked Luke to keep Lucky out of his feud with Helena.

4/27 Stefan cornered Laura outside Kelly's to try to get her to help him with Nikolas. He would make a deal with her and get info to help find out what his mother was up to with Lucky. She was not having any of it and told him where to go.  Stefan showed up at his door and he found out Stefan had stolen the papers. He told him he wanted nothing more to do with the Cassadines and Laura showed up and gave him her support.

5/1 Helena continued to gloat about her success over Lucky. She is determined to break his whole spirit. She hoped that the old Lucky would never return from the mind washing. Helena had been following Lucky around to ensure that his programming was working.

Elizabeth found Lucky in the dark room working on some photos. Elizabeth was shocked to see him developing a print of Helena. She questioned him about the photo. He said it was only an accidental photograph. Elizabeth tried to get him to leave and go upstairs with her, but Lucky told her he would join her later. After Elizabeth left, Lucky pulled out a picture of Lucas and then he looked remorseful. Lucky rushed over to the hospital. He encountered Melissa and asked her various questions about Lucas. She tried to reassure him, but deep inside he felt wrong. Luke walked up behind Lucky and saw he was visibly hurt. He tried to reassure him, but Lucky knew he had done wrong and so did Luke.

Felicia went to visit Luke and she was furious with him. She came in on a mission and then when he asked for her help on the disk, she grabbed the lab top and started to jump on it and crush it with her feet. She continued to scream about the fact that Luke had not called her and had not even though about her in two weeks. Felicia was trying to tell him that she really cares about him, but Luke did not understand what was going on with her. He stopped her from leaving twice, but Luke was still unable to settle her down. As Felicia made a quick exit, the third time is the charm; Luke grabbed his stuff and was going after her. The phone rang and it was Roy. He left a message asking Luke to get to the hospital immediately because Lucas was sick and Bobbie needed him. Luke went to the hospital.

5/2 Laura, having also received a phone call from Roy, comes to the hospital and finds Luke. They have an amicable discussion about Lucky, and spend some time talking about the good times they shared in their past.

Luke finds Felicia outside Lucas' room. They talk about their relationship. He tells her that he missed her, and is sorry he didn't call her for two weeks, but questions her about what she expects out of the relationship. Meanwhile, Laura comes to Lucas' room, and overhears Luke suggesting to Felicia that they go somewhere private to discuss their relationship.

5/3 Felicia and Luke talked out their feelings about each other and their romance while they were up on the roof. She told him she wanted more and he admitted that he was not in a position to give her what she wanted. "I want to give you more, and we waited a long time to be together, but now I'm confused," Luke said. She responded with, "I love you and I want you to love me back." When he said, "to be honest I don't know if it's in me to love anyone any more." She realized that he was still in love with Laura. Felicia left, realizing that Luke didn't feel the same way about her.

Stefan found Nikolas and Gia in his office waiting for him. Nikolas threatened his uncle with arrest if he ever illegally entered his cottage again. Stefan admitted that it was his fault that his nephew as renouncing his name. He told Nikolas that it was his destiny to protect Nikolas. When Nikolas asked him to walk away with him, Stefan explained that he had to stay where he was to protect his son from Helena and Lucky.

Bobbie expressed concern to Lucky about Lucas and his mysterious symptoms. The sadness that Lucky felt was obvious to Bobbie. He was torn and confused as he watched Elizabeth play with Lucas. He asked his aunt for advice on how to handle his mixed feelings.

5/8 At the hospital, Felicia overheard Luke asking Laura for help in the Helena situation and became really sad and jealous. Felicia does not understand where Luke is going and why this is bringing him closer to Laura.

Lucky is in serious peril. Everyday he seems to be losing more of his normal state and the mind control is taking over. Lucky, Elizabeth, Gia and Nikolas were at an arcade trying to cheer Nikolas up about losing his family and signing away the Cassadine name. Lucky was playing this one shooting game and kept seeing the face of Helena from which he derived pleasure in just shooting her repeatedly. No one really noticed that he was in a trance.

Later they got together as a group and Elizabeth was telling Nikolas that they were there for him and hoped this was helping to get his mind off his family woes. Lucky stood there in a trance, then said the weirdest thing, and walked off to game again. Everyone else just looked puzzled at what he said. Elizabeth went over to help him. Nikolas thanked Gia for working together with Elizabeth so they all could enjoy an outing together. Lucky started to fall deep into trance seeing Luke and Laura's faces in the game. He did stop shooting, but it was obvious that he was fighting the programming Elizabeth started to notice his far away look and brought him back to the living. At which time Lucky professed his love for her and got down on his knees and proposed marriage.

5/9 Luke finds Felicia in the waiting room where she tells him that she has decided to have dinner with Mac, but wants Luke to tell her not to go. Luke once again reiterates that he doesn't think he can give her the kind of love she wants, and he doesn't think he can ever love anyone again. He declares that he wants to continue their relationship, but can "give her a safe harbor."

While at the arcade, Lucky confesses the depth of his love and proposes to Liz. Surprised and confused by the proposal, she doesn't know what to say. Gia encourages Liz to say yes. Liz and Lucky leave for the park so that they can talk in private. Liz tells him that she is never going to leave him, and is puzzled by the desperation she senses in his words. Lucky sees Helena watching them from a near-by bush, and continues to tell Liz that he fears he will lose himself if she ever left him. He encourages her to ignore all the practicalities about money and family, and agree to marry him. She finally says yes.

Helena goes back to her yacht, where her disks have been deciphered for her. Holding the Ice Princess, she confidently declares that not even love is a match for what she has in store for Lucky.

Scotty takes Laura out to the arcade for an evening of fun, and teaches her how to play pinball. He tells her that he thinks about her all the time, and wants to pursue a relationship and a future with her. Laura hesitates, saying that she has made a lot of mistakes in the past, and doesn't want to make another one with him. She asks if she can have some time to think it over, and Scotty agrees on the condition that she tell him when she is ready.

5/10 Helena attempted to wheedle information out of Melissa about Lucas's condition. Roy saw them talking and asked Melissa what Helena wanted. His suspicions were raised when Melissa told him what Helena asked for.

5/11 Lucky took Nikolas with him to look for an engagement ring for Elizabeth, but Lucky seemed to go into a trace and became agitated when he saw the diamonds.

Somewhere in the hospital basement, Helena stated that this was the day she had waited for.

At the hospital, Roy and Luke tried to comfort Bobbie. Tony came out to tell Bobbie that Lucas was not doing well. Roy told Luke that Helena had been asking Melissa about Lucas' condition earlier in the day. Luke spoke to Tony and asked him if he had checked to see if Lucas had been poisoned. Tony called the lab and Luke went to find Helena. Lucas slipped into a coma. Luke found Helena in the hospital corridor and they did their little "cat and mouse" game trying to get information from each other.

Luke threatened to kill Helena if she didn't tell him what she had done to Lucas. Mac arrived and pulled Luke off of Helena before he could get the information. After Mac went to check on Lucas, Luke told Felicia that he thought Helena had poisoned Lucas.

Lucky entered the rooftop of the hospital building. Nikolas found Lucky ready to jump from the rooftop and tried to talk him down.

At the hospital, Tony was approached by two gunmen in the hospital corridor and was taken to an unknown part of the hospital where Helena told him that she was going to show him something "very interesting."

5/14 Down in the deep, deep recesses of the hospital, Helena had her men take Tony. Tony struggled against the men holding him, telling Helena he didn't know where she had taken him, but he had no inclination to stay. He had a sick child upstairs and demanded she let him go. She told him downstairs didn't really describe where they were. They were 30 flights below the sub basement of General Hospital, literally the bounds of the earth. "Go to hell, you own it, don't you?" Tony asked.

Helena told him to relax, gather himself. He needed all his faculties about him as he was about to witness things nobody else has ever seen. Didn't that excite him, just a little? Tony said it made him angry; he didn't know what she was talking about, and didn't want to. Helena said he was about to experience the result of the most daring, the most profound experiment in the history of humankind. He was about to pierce the veil that separates life from death. Tony was still wanting to get away and Helena mentioned Lucas being on death's door. He demanded to know how she knew Lucas' condition. She said he would die if Tony didn't do exactly what she said. She led him through to another room that was ice-cold. There was a chamber that held, what?

Lucky was on the roof and was getting on the ledge, looking like he was about to jump. Nikolas came out and told him to get down. Elizabeth found them both there and they got Lucky down. He didn't know what all the fuss was about; surely they didn't think he would jump. He was just enjoying the scenery. He told Elizabeth that Nikolas was nuts, thinking he would jump.  Nikolas caught up with Luke and told him that something was wrong with Lucky. Lucky overheard him and blasted him for going to his father, saying things like he did. Luke had told Roy he was sure Helena was behind what was wrong with Lucas and Roy agreed.

Luke went to Helena's yacht. Maybe he was looking for clues to lead him to what was wrong with Lucas, but it looked like he was just destroying the place.

5/15 Luke stumbles upon Laura at Helena's yacht. They agree to help one another find something or anything really to help Lucky. Luke had already thrashed the place pretty badly and found nothing. Laura recognized a special table from Greece that Helena had when she was living on the island. When they pulled out the table Luke discovered jewelry, a book, and files. Laura immediately recognized the book and became scared. Helena told her she would be killed if she ever touched or looked in her book. She was so fearful that Luke had to open it up and see what all the commotion was about. Luke was thrilled at this prospect. It was not a diary, but a date book of all the important events in Helena's life.

Luke and Laura were puzzled that Stavros' death was not noted. When Luke put the book down and picked up a ring and asked if it was Laura's, she strongly denied it being hers. Luke immediately put the ring down and tried to bring Laura out of this state. He said Laura it is only me Luke. Finally she stopped and told Luke about her captivity. How she was put in the bottom of the boat for travel and how she tried to jump but Stavros would not allow it.

She could not stand her life with him until Nikolas was born. After that she no longer wanted to die or take her own life. She loved Nikolas he meant everything to her. She rarely left him with the neighbors and she tried her best to keep him away from his grandmother. She looked up at Luke and thought out loud that maybe she had divulged too much. Luke said no on the contrary. In the past, he never thought about her life with the Cassadines mainly because he did not want to think of the pain that she experienced. They hugged and decided to get back to work. Then they heard Helena's boy toy coming.

Luke gave her the code word for their plan and while she distracted the boy toy, Luke punched him. She said it still works like a charm, they shared a smile. From then on, Laura agreed to work with him on this project. To their surprise Lucky arrived.

In the back stairwell of GH, Nikolas and Lucky are arguing. Nikolas knows there is something wrong with his brother and just cannot figure out what. Lucky has lost all of himself today. He was accusing Nikolas of trying to sabotage his relationship with Elizabeth because of the roof incident. Nikolas is just trying to calm him down but Lucky keeps getting angrier and more hateful. Nikolas tries to tell him that his programming has returned and he need to see Dr. Collins but Lucky started calling him names. Then Lucky lunges at Nikolas and Nikolas screams ,”Lucky what are you doing man?”

Stefan popped out of the door and secures Lucky. Nikolas took this opportunity and tried to talk sense into Lucky but he does not take heed. Finally Stefan lets Lucky go and then Lucky tried to bully him into a fight. Come on Stefan you want some of this? Nikolas said, “Enough is enough. Go home Lucky. Go to Elizabeth.” Lucky still not his right self hit Stefan as he was trying to call security and have Lucky removed from the building. Stefan and Lucky come to blows.

Nikolas finally separated the two, but by this time Lucky was convinced that Nikolas had sold him out and that Nikolas was with Stefan again. Lucky left. Nikolas asked his uncle to tell him what Helena has done to his brother. Stefan however became offended by Nikolas' consistent concern for Lucky and told Nikolas that he would not provide him with any information until he returned to the family and take back his heritage as the head of the Cassadines.

Helena finally revealed to Tony why she kidnapped him. She had Stavros frozen in time for all these years and Helena needed a surgeon to help bring him back to life. Helena asked Tony to calm down and listen to her because she was offering a fair trade. If Tony woke up her child then she would give him the antidote to wake up his child. Tony kept saying no to Helena. Then she reminded him that she has control of everyone. She added that not only would Lucas die, but then LuLu, and even Michael if Tony did not help. Tony was astonished by her admission and had begun to consider her proposal more seriously.

5/16 Thirty floors below the basement of General Hospital, Tony strikes a bargain with Helena. In exchange for the antidote, Tony promises that, when Lucas has recovered, he will come back and help her with Stavros. She threatens him that Lucas and the other Spencer related children will all suffer if he tells Luke or anyone else about his bargain. After Tony leaves, Helena is informed about the break-in at the patch. She seems to be very upset, and leaves the basement to take care of the situation.

Tony goes back to the lab, where Melissa tells him about the virus she found. He saves a tiny amount of the antidote, and puts the rest back in his pocket. Lucas' condition suddenly takes a downturn, and Bobbie calls the Lab to tell Tony to come back to the room. Reluctantly, Tony injects Lucas' IV with the antidote, figuring that he has nothing to lose. He tells her its an anti-viral serum he got from Johns Hopkins University.

Luke and Laura come into the hospital, and Luke asks Tony if he tested Lucas for poison. Tony looks like he desperately wants to tell Luke what is going on, but instead he tells Luke that Lucas has a rare virus.

Lucky is caught off-guard when Luke and Laura ask him why he doesn't want to leave the yacht. He begins to ramble on about wanting to tell Helena to stay away from his family and leave him out of everything. He ends up mentioning that he got into a fight with Stefan, and that he asked Elizabeth to marry him. Laura is surprised by what Lucky says, and Luke's suspicions grow. He asks Lucky if there is a connection between Lucas' ailment and his sudden decision to get married, and if Helena has anything to do with Lucas. Again, Lucky begins to get very angry ad defensive. He blames Luke for the year he lost after the fire, and exits the boat. Luke and Laura decide to leave and go to the hospital to check in on Bobbie and Lucas.

Lucky returns to the yacht and tells Helena that he wants nothing more to do with her. She shows him the Ice Princess, and tells him he is going to help her destroy his father.
