Spencer vs Cassadine #18 April 3 - June 28, 2000 - 8 hour original edit DVD #18A Lucky and Helena made small talk in the limo. He explained how the ranch in Texas was "home" to him, his own past, not secondary to his parents or the Cassadines. Helena gave him a large, ornate box containing video tapes and a notebook of photos and updates on the people in Port Charles, but Lucky refused them, saying that he preferred to find out the info for himself, and declaring that he didn't need photos to remember. After much scrambling and screaming, Luke and Laura pulled Felicia back up the cliff to safety. There was an awkward moment when Luke asked Laura, "All right, darlin'?" and Felicia answered. Laura asked if Felicia had tripped, and Felicia told them about the matchbook cover she'd spotted (and subsequently lost over the cliff) and pointed out the "Lucky" in in the rock, carved next to the triple L's. They were momentarily elated that Lucky had been there, but Luke spoiled the mood by pointing out that it could be a trick, that anyone could have carved the name. They reasoned that the logical next stop would be Marrakesh, but worried that they were too far behind Helena to catch up. After Marrakesh would come Dublin, and Felicia volunteered to skip a step and go straight to Ireland perhaps to intercept Helena and Lucky. Later, on the plane, a sleeping Felicia clutched at Luke's arm, much to Laura's exasperation. Lucky packed some money into his sock and readied for his reunion with his parents and his return to Port Charles. Stefan encountered Lesley Lu and was asking her about her parents' trip when Lesley came out the door and suggested that LuLu go inside. She then asked Stefan to leave. Stefan told her he wanted to team with her to help Luke and Laura. He told Lesley that Luke and Laura were headed overseas to find Lucky, but that they were going to the wrong place. Nikolas walked out of the house and Lesley informed him that evidently Stefan knew where Lucky was. Stefan said he did not, only that Luke and Laura were on the wrong track. Nikolas ordered him to leave. As he left, he told Lesley to inform Laura that he was not giving up. Alexis went to Stefan's office and found him going through old photos of Laura. He demanded the file she'd brought, and searched through it hurriedly, insisting that he had to find Lucky before Luke and Laura did. He told Alexis about his recent trips to the Haunted Star and to Ice Princess island and admitted that he'd lost Laura. Alexis questioned him about his plan, and he explained that he was trying to discern where Laura had been happiest, as that would be where Helena could do the greatest emotional damage. He also explained Felicia's presence, that Luke was having an affair with her. Stefan suggested that Helena might be nearing the end of her tour, realizing that she would be caught if she kept it up much longer. Alexis wondered if perhaps Helena were trying to lure everyone to the same spot at the same time, and from that Stefan reasoned that they would be not at Port Charles, the last place, but the next to last place, in Vancouver. He ordered the jet and vowed to bring Lucky home and give Helena what she deserves. Luke and Laura were in Marrakesh, discouraged over their lack of success in tracking Lucky. Laura suggested that Helena underestimated the "power of us" and that maybe they had, too, but before Luke could comment, the phone rang and it was Felicia, calling from Ireland. He told her to stay there for a while and promised to be in touch, but when he hung up, Laura's tone was cold as she asked,"Where do we look next, or do we have to wait for Felicia?" Luke was not interested in discussing the Felicia situation, but Laura pressed, insisting "This is our trip, not Felicia's, and I don't see how she's helping us." Later, they made up and agreed that they didn't want to fight. Laura admitted that she missed Luke, and started to cry as he held her. They shared memories of Ireland and Marrakesh, and agreed that they missed the feeling that they could do anything together. They agreed sadly that they couldn't go back, that they weren't now the same people they had been then. They talked about how exciting it had been to be all over the globe, but remembered also the fear and running away in the night. Luke had something he needed to tell Laura: the happiest he'd been in his whole life was when he'd been with her, and she tearfully agreed, tenderly stroking his face until, again, the phone rang. Felicia, of course. She asked Luke where they'd lived the longest, and he relayed the question to Laura. She suddenly realized that the real question was where they'd been the happiest, the Triple L Diner in Vancouver. Luke excitedly instructed Felicia to hop on a plane and meet them in British Columbia. This was enough for Laura, who turned and stomped off to the bedroom, slamming the door behind her. Helena and Lucky had already arrived at the Triple L and ordered breakfast. Lucky was anxious to be off to Port Charles, but Helena explained that this was their last stop together and suggested that they take a walk around town to see where he used to live. After the walking tour they went back to the diner where Helena commented that the stability of living there must have been a relief for young Lucky after all the travel. She said that she appreciated his company on the tour, but guessed that he was anxious to leave, and handed him $500. He questioned her, and she told him to add it to the amount he'd "appropriated" from her already, then added that he could keep the jewelry, too. He was suitably abashed. Helena then said he was clever and independent, qualities that would stand him in good stead. She told him he was then on his own, and announced that she was leaving. Lucky was confused, and said he thought they were going to Port Charles, but Helena pointed out that PC would still be there, although, she suggested, he might want to wait for his parents to arrive in Vancouver before he moved on. She commented "It's all up to you" and left the diner, leaving Lucky on his own. Lucky is at the Triple L diner and talking to the waitress. He orders breakfast. Helena is looking on from outside as Lucky tells the waitress he is there to meet his parents. After the waitress serves him breakfast she begins messing with the register. It is stuck. Lucky tells her what to do to unstick it. She wants to know how he knows that. He tells her his parents owned the place and that his father bought the register second-hand. He also tells her he is one of the "L's" in the Triple L. The waitress introduces herself to Lucky and tells him her name is Katie. Helena is still looking on from outside and walks away. As Lucky and Katie get better acquainted Lucky spots Stefan outside the diner and asks Katie to hide him. She hides him behind the counter. When Stefan comes in and asks her about a boy fitting Lucky's description, she lies and tells him she hasn't seen him. Stefan leaves and Katie tells Lucky the coast is clear. He won't explain why Stefan is after him, but tells her that he didn't do anything illegal. As Lucky looks out the window Katie wants to know why someone is after him. She tells him that she would help him. Although they hardly know each other she feels like she can trust him and would help. He says he would do the same. He says he wishes he could thank her. The movies would be nice. He tells her he can't because he won't be there long. She says she will take a raincheck for when he comes back to town. Helena is on her jet preparing to leave. She calls to Andreas to bring her the champagne and tell the pilot she is ready to leave. Stefan comes up behind her and starts to choke her. He wants to know why she is celebrating and what does it have to do with Lucky Spencer? Luke and Laura arrive at the airport and spot Felicia. They say a guarded hello and head for the rental cars to begin the journey to find Lucky. Luke shows Felicia a map of where they are headed as Laura gets the rental car. Laura looks annoyed when she shows up and decides that it is time to begin the drive to British Columbia. When Luke and Laura and Felicia arrive at the Triple L they are a little apprehensive. Felicia tells them to go in and she will keep a look out for Helena. When Luke and Laura walk in they spot Lucky at the counter with his back turned to them. Luke says, "Cowboy," and their boy turns around. Luke and Laura grab hands and are thrilled they are looking at their son. Lucky looks confused. Stefan had Helena by the throat and threatened to kill her if she didn't tell him where she had Lucky, so she explained that she had released him in perfect health in Vancouver, at the diner. Stefan wondered that she'd lost her hold, but she explained that Luke and Laura would soon discover the depth of her revenge, and that she could now die content. She taunted him about the poisoning, and criticized him for acting alone rather than hiring a competent staff (Faison). He pointed out that she'd killed her only ally, and then thanked her for his loss of Laura. He explained that men fall in love with their mothers. Helena, "Isn't it a little late for an Oedipal moment?" She'd molded the contours of his heart, a mortal born to a goddess with golden hair and luminous eyes. Helena
reminisced also, he was a painful disappointment, sallow and puny; he wouldn't
sleep, wouldn't nurse, wouldn't smile, and Stavros was her saving grace. Stefan
continued that he'd promised himself to fall in love with someone completely
different, then unwittingly returned to the source, the same golden hair,
luminous eyes and porcelain complexion. He touched Helena's face tenderly, but
she only commented that introspection didn't become him and told Stefan not to
blame her for his inadequacies when he admitted falling in love with rejection.
He insisted that he was not, she had given him great strength and taught him how
to close his heart and turn his back on a woman who offers only pain. Stefan
proclaimed that he owed her an enormous debt, and reminded her that he repays
his debts. He kissed her hand, then rose and moved the curtain aside. Two
policemen entered the room and Stefan handed his mother into custody, adding
quietly that that settles his overdue account. As she was taken away, Helena
reminded her son that she always comes back, and promised to make him pay for
this. They introduced themselves and asked about Lucky, and at first the waitress wouldn't help them but then admitted that Lucky had been waiting for his parents. They asked more questions and ascertained that he'd been brought there by Helena and that Stefan had appeared on the scene but not spoken to Lucky. The waitress said that Lucky's plan had been to keep moving, so Luke and Felicia split up to search the public transportation hubs. Meanwhile, as the waitress prepared to go home, she and Laura talked. Laura explained that they'd thought Lucky was dead, and gave the waitress her card with phone numbers, pleading with her to phone if she saw Lucky again. The waitress agreed and left. Laura looked around, remembering, as Luke came in the door. "Will You Love Me Tomorrow" played and they exchanged long looks, then Laura collapsed in tears. Lucky asked a trucker if he had room for a passenger, and the man agreed to give him a ride as long as he paid his own way. Luke, Laura and Felicia compared notes and realized Lucky had not been seen at any airports, bus stations or train stations. Laura asked if he had checked all the box cars and Luke said he had. When Luke suggested that they split up and look again, Felicia said that it was time for her to go home. They wished one another luck and she said she'd take the last flight out. Laura and Luke tried to imagine where Lucky could be. Laura wondered why Lucky had left a trail if he didn't want to be found. They speculated that someone could have been watching them or that it could have been a trap. After going through many ideas, they agreed that if Lucky had escaped, he would try to find Elizabeth. Luke suggested that the best thing to do was for him to look for Lucky and Laura to go home in case he went to Port Charles. Luke assured Laura that they would find him. At the airport, Laura saw Felicia at the gate and noted that they would be on the same flight. She asked if Felicia had contacted Mac and the girls and she said they still weren't answering. Katie the waitress came back into the Triple L to pick up her paycheck. Luke talked with her again and realized that Lucky was hitchhiking. He asked if there wasn't a truck stop in town and she told him there was, down by the interstate. Luke thanked her and hurried out. Alexis came to talk to Stefan about the events and he told her Helena was in custody in British Columbia. She told him that if he didn't find Lucky, he'd have no case. He was sure that he would. He filled her in on Helena letting Lucky go and what that could mean. He also told her that he was over Laura. Nikolas stormed in and demanded to know where Lucky was. Stefan said that he didn't know, but would find him. Nikolas informed his uncle that he would not be waiting that long. At Kelly's, Lesley came in with Lulu. Lesley told Bobbie that she hadn't heard anything about Lucky, and Bobbie left. Elizabeth went over to hug Lulu, and got the update while Lucky watched from the window. Laura entered next, and Lulu excitedly ran to her mother. Laura explained that she and Daddy had gone to look for "something special", and that they'd found it but not been able to bring it home quite yet, although Daddy is still looking and will surely bring it home soon. Lulu and Lesley went on home, and Laura told Elizabeth all about the encounter with Lucky and it's unsatisfactory ending. Elizabeth began to cry, and apologized, and Laura tried to comfort her by telling her that they were still hopeful and that Luke is still looking. Elizabeth told Laura about her plan to go with Nikolas to search for Lucky, and Laura warned her against Helena's long reach. Audrey
saw Laura and told her how happy she was that Lucky was alive. Laura filled her
in on the details and finished just as Stefan walked up and made a remark about
thinking Laura would be with Luke. Laura tried to excuse herself and Stefan
wondered if she would be able to continue working at the hospital with so much
animosity for him. Laura said she wouldn't have a problem unless he made one.
She said the last thing she was worried about was working for him. He asked if
she would continue to look for Lucky and she said of course she would. She asked
if he had any information that might be useful and he said that she wouldn't
believe him anyway and she admitted this was true and excused herself. Stefan
phoned someone and told them to follow her from the hospital. Lucky and Lulu hugged, and he told her he missed her every day and promised to see her as often as he could, but cautioned her that she mustn't tell Mom or Dad that she'd seen him. Lesley called for Lulu and Lucky hid again after reminding Lulu of his love for her. Lesley collected Lulu and they went to bake a cake for dinner, but Lulu managed to turn and send a little secret wave to her brother before going inside. Stefan was on his cell phone, demanding that the caller find Lucky immediately. Lucky was on the docks remembering when he'd returned from Manitoba and given Elizabeth the key chain. He heard someone approaching, and hid just in time to avoid being seen by Stefan. Stefan heard a sound, but before he could investigate his cell phone rang. Stefan demanded of the caller that "Lucky Spencer must be found!". He left and Lucky crept out of his hiding place. Lucky sneaked aboard Helena's yacht and overheard Andreas arrange Madame's dinner, as she'd been released from custody. Andreas left, and Lucky came out of hiding to examine things, then hid again when he heard someone approaching. Andreas and Helena returned, and Helena ordered her dinner, a hot bath, and a massage. Stefan appeared, and Andreas offered to throw him out, but Helena considered that Stefan probably was "a master of some martial art or other" and dismissed Andreas. Helena proclaimed Stefan's vendetta tiresome, and asked that he run along and let Mummy recover in peace. Stefan replied that he'd would do so as soon as Mummy told him where he would find Lucky Spencer. Helena insisted that she has no idea where Lucky is, that he is free to go wherever he pleases, but Stefan suggested that perhaps Helena is simply not ready for Lucky yet, as she may have other pieces to get into place. He wondered if Lucky were a pawn, or a more useful piece, perhaps a bishop or knight. Helena replied that chess is Stefan's game, and said that it bored her (this bit seemed to puzzle Lucky). Stefan continued the analogy, suggesting that Lucky is a pivotal piece, then he walked over to the actual chessboard and moved a piece into checkmate. Stefan left, and Helena hurled the chessboard. She then left the room, demanding to know how Stefan got onto the yacht. Lucky climbed out of his hiding place and stood, considering what he'd heard. Helena
makes a phone call from the yacht. She wants to know where Lucky is. The person
on the other end wants to know if she wants him picked up again. She angrily
tells the person she just wants to know his whereabouts and that is what she is
paying for. Stefan told Alexis that the doctor they had interviewed who had examined Lucky had disappeared right after their meeting without a trace. They both knew Helena was behind it. Ned interrupted to say that there was no way Alexis was going to risk her life in Stefan's quest to bring down Helena. He pointed out that they keep talking about Helena being their common enemy, but Alexis is the one that keeps almost getting killed. Stefan excused himself and told Alexis he would talk to her later. Helena was pleased to see Lucky, but scolded him for taking an unscheduled trip to New York. He told her he knew what he had to do and he would do it. He told her he had seen Nikolas and Elizabeth, but that it hadn't seemed right to approach them. Andreas announced the arrival of Nikolas, so Lucky left. Later, as Liz prepared to leave the docks, she was shocked to look back and see Lucky staring at her. Elizabeth and Lucky gazed at one another for a few seconds, then Lucky ran away, leaving Elizabeth devastated. Nikolas
demanded that Helena tell him Lucky's whereabouts, but she denied knowing or
having any current involvement with him whatsoever. Nikolas asked if she'd
killed his brother, and she laughingly denied that also, but did say that she'd
rescued Lucky from Faison. She suggested that Lucky simply needed time to adjust
from his captivity with Faison, away from family interference, and said that
she's sure Lucky will contact Nikolas when he is ready to do so. She tried to
tell Nikolas that she'd brought Lucky back for Nikolas, because she loves him,
but Nikolas refused to listen and demanded that Helena stay away from him. After
Nikolas stormed out, Helena softly remarked that he would soon change his mind. Laura went to her office at the hospital to use the computer resources to search for Lucky. She encountered Bobbie, and told her how she'd gone to Mac and he'd told her that Helena was sticking to her "rescue Lucky from Faison" story. They debated Lucky's motives for his odd behavior. Luke
returned home and told an anxious Laura that he had not found any sign of a
trail on Lucky. Dejected, the two of them decided that the best thing to do was
to wait and see if he came to them. Lucky came to visit LuLu and she told him that she had a present for him and gave him the token. He asked her if Elizabeth had given it to her and she said she had. When he asked her if she had said anything, Lulu told him that Elizabeth had said she loved him. Lucky held the token and stared at it thoughtfully. Elizabeth went to Nikolas and told him what LuLu had said. She was upset because this meant that Lucky was not avoiding them because he was concerned for their safety as they had thought. He was avoiding them because he didn't want to see them. At
the club, Luke and Laura discussed the fact that there has been no sign of
Lucky, although Luke was certain that Elizabeth would hear from him eventually.
Laura remembered an incident from the past, and decided that Lucky was once
again frightened of something. They agreed that Helena had let him go, but Laura
worried that he is on the other side of the earth, starting over without them.
They shared a close moment, and agreed to let Lucky come to them rather than
chase after him. They chatted about Lulu, and Luke asked if Roy had taken her
fishing. Laura realized that Luke knew nothing about Roy's arrest and subsequent
escape, and filled him in. Laura left for home while Luke decided to go see
Sonny to confront him about Roy's situation. Carly ordered Luke out of "their house" and he scoffed. "What, do you live here?" He was incredulous as she said that she did and Sonny made it clear to him that they had nothing to discuss. Luke blamed Roy's problems on Sonny, saying that ignoring the business to screw around with his niece was no way to run an organization. Sonny advised him to watch it, but Carly lit into him, telling him that, as usual, he didn't have a clue what he was talking about. He then threw in their faces that this had to be why Jason left and, gesturing grandly to them said, "The man of honor and the slut." Sonny told him that he'd better show Carly some respect, that she was carrying his child. Luke said he didn't care what they did, but Sonny was going to fix the mess he'd made of Roy's life. Carly told Luke he should be grateful to Sonny and Luke continued to gripe about the mess Sonny had made. A phone call from Larkin, reminding Sonny that time was running out for him to produce Roy, interrupted them briefly. Finally, Carly blurted out that Roy was a snitch for the FBI. Luke accused her of lying, but Sonny filled in the blanks for him. He demanded to know where Roy was and Carly told him to ask Bobbie. Luke told Sonny not to turn his back on Carly and Carly told him not to come back as he was flying out the door. Stefan and Alexis came to Mac's office and he accused Stefan of killing Dr Gladstone and kidnapping Lucky. Laura came into the club looking for Luke. Claude told her Luke was out and that she'd wait in his office. She and Tammy and Mike exchanged pleasantries and she updated them on their frustration over not finding Lucky. She excused herself when Mac arrived and asked if she had a moment. Felicia found Luke and told him what had happened with Mac and the girls. He commiserated with her and she told him he was now all she had. They started to make out, with her taking her shirt off and him swiping the stuff off his desk to lay her down and start feeling her up. Well into some serious making out, she told him to stop, that she couldn't go through with it. She held together her open shirt and ran blindly out of the office with Luke on her tail. They stumbled out, clothes akimbo, into the main room of Luke's. Mac had been filling Laura in on the Gladstone killing and they stared with shock and disgust at Luke and Felicia. Mac asked Laura if she needed a ride home and she said she appreciated that. They left and Felicia moaned that she had wrecked everything. Luke
is still trying to find out where Roy DiLucca is hiding. Alexis asked Luke to
stay out of the Roy situation and let Sonny handle it, but Luke would not leave
it alone. Finally Alexis said, Luke, you need to talk to Bobbie if you want more
information. Roy found Luke in his office and Luke blasted him for not telling him he was a Federal informant. He railed at him that the man he knew would never take a job for the feds. Roy told him he was still the same guy, he just didn't have a choice. He also reminded him that he'd covered his butt by taking the Mitch Williams hit. Luke advised him not to throw his prison time in his face, that he had never asked Roy to make that hit. Roy told him about Hannah and asked if Luke wouldn't have done the same for Lucky or Lesley Lu. Luke said none of that was the problem, the problem was that he hadn't trusted him enough to tell him when he first came back to town. Luke told Roy that there was no way he and Sonny could beat the FBI and that they would both end up doing time, he just didn't want Roy to take Bobbie down with him. He told Roy to run. Roy refused to leave Bobbie and Luke said, "and what? She watches you die again?" Roy told him if he wanted him out of his life, just pick up the phone and call the cops and he'd be back and jail. Luke told him he doesn't do cops. Roy stormed out. Bobbie called Luke, who told her that Roy had just left and advised her to get out of the safe house, that she was in danger. She told him he would just have to deal with it. Luke was finishing a phone conversation with Lesley when he was surprised to see Helena come into his office. After assuring him she had bodyguards, she told him the same sad tale she told Stefan and Nikolas, about how she had rescued Lucky from Faison and that they'd had to move around while Faison was still alive and until Lucky was healthy again. He threatened to kill her if she didn't tell him where Lucky was. She reminded him that she had bodyguards right outside the door and he told her she'd be dead before they got here. She told him that if he killed her, he'd never find Lucky and suggested they meet again when he was more receptive. She took her boy toy and left. Luke appeared, and after trading barbs with him, Carly left to wait for her ultrasound. Luke insisted that Bobbie can have no future with Roy, that Roy and Sonny are both bound for prison and he doesn't want to see his sister get pulled down, too. Bobbie refused to accept this, and reminded Luke that he owes Roy his life. Luke reiterated his warning that Sonny cares only about himself, cautioned Bobbie once again to be careful, and left. Mike met Luke and admitted that he'd seen Lucky in town, but explained that he'd sworn not to tell. Mike said that Lucky had been to see Nikolas and Lulu, but that since he seemed to want to avoid Luke and Laura their best bet would be to be patient. He warned that Lucky is liable to vanish again if Luke goes after him. Later, Lucky was walking on the docks and came upon Luke sitting in a corner. Luke greeted him with a quiet "Hello, cowboy". Laura dropped by the studio to show Elizabeth the photos that prove Lucky is in Port Charles and was shocked by Elizabeth's reaction. Elizabeth admitted that she'd known for a few days and had spoken to Lucky herself, adding that he'd also been to see Lulu. She said she hated not being able to tell Laura the truth, then told her about Lucky's visit to the studio and his strange, distant behavior. Elizabeth admitted that she still loves Lucky, and Laura encouraged her not to give up, that he's still the person in the protrait she painted. They made a bit of small talk, Elizabeth apologized again, and Laura left. Luke encountered Lucky on the docks, and for the first few minutes Luke did all the talking with Lucky just standing there looking at him. Luke told Lucky that if he ran away again he'd just follow him and would always be able to find him since "he taught him all his best moves". Lucky replied, "If it doesn't go your way, you force it." Luke realized they were back to the rape again. Lucky expressed anger about the rape, and said that they had given up on him when they thought he was dead, not even bothering to search. Luke asked, "What did they do to your head?" Lucky maintained that Helena did nothing and all Faison did was lock the door, but it gave him time to think about the lies Luke and Laura had told him. His parents, he said, were his role models. Meaning that he wanted to be like his mother's rapist, and be programmed to look for a woman who has secret affairs and children she never tells him about. He explained that he finally concluded that "bad is bad" and that he didn't want anything to do with Luke and Laura, that he cannot trust them. Laura
appeared then, and was at first overjoyed to see her son, but her face fell when
she realized he wasn't glad to see her in return. Lucky insisted he had no
interest in tawdry reunions. Whe Laura asked, "What's wrong?" He began
to list some of Luke's "wrongs'. Laura asked what she had done, and he
replied that she was a liar. He said that they never seemed to realize that
there are consequences for their lies and manipulations. For making Faison angry
the consequence was that he gave a year of his life. He stated that he wanted
nothing to do with either of them, warned them to stay away from him, and left.
Laura called out, begging him to stay, but Luke said to let him go. Stefan is at GH and comes across Tony. Tony is exercising his newly operated on hand. Stefan asks how the therapy is going. He gets a typical Tony response, as Bobbie looks on. Stefan tells Tony he does not feel he is appropriate for the job of Chief of Neurosurgery since he is not able to perform surgery yet. Tony assures him he will be soon, but Stefan tells him his kidnapping charge is also a problem. A disappointed Tony walks away and Bobbie lays into Stefan for having the nerve to call Tony a kidnapper. Stefan insists that when Lucky turns up, he will clear his name. Bobbie snipes at him that the one good thing to come of this is that Laura finally sees him for who he really is. Stefan tells Alexis that they must use each other and Jax in order to defeat Helena. Alexis is upset about Stefan's lack of compassion for Chloe's plight. She tells Stefan that she doesn't want Jax or Chloe hurt. Luke
asked Alexis to stop by his office to discuss Lucky and Helena. Luke advised
Alexis that he knows that she is also trying to gather information to put Helena
away, so he suggested that they pool their efforts and share information. Luke
said he has to know what exactly Helena has done to cause Lucky to regress
emotionally. Luke is almost sure that Lucky is suffering from some type of mind
control. Alexis agreed to share information with Luke. Stefan confronted Lucky and Helena and tried to convince him to denounce Helena and admit that she'd held him prisoner, but Lucky stuck to the story that she'd actually rescued him. Lucky refused to become involved in the "sick feud" between either his parents and the Cassadines or Stefan and Helena, and left them to argue between themselves. Helena looked after Lucky, commenting that she admired his independence, but Stefan replied that that independence is the flaw in her plan and will inevitably lead to her undoing. He suggested that she had used mind control on Lucky, which she denied as ludicrous, but warned her that the longer Lucky is in familiar surrounds and routines, the less control she will be able to maintain. Luke
and Laura meet in Kelly’s and talk about the Lucky situation. Luke believes in
the brain washing theory. Luke then interrupts Felicia’s afternoon with her
girls in the park. Luke pressed her to make up her mind about their
relationship. He said that it could be whatever she wanted it to be, but he
couldn't stand any more of the push-pull dance. She said she wanted to remain
friends, and Luke said that at first that had been all right, but now he feels
that friendship isn't enough, and they agreed that they'd never expected things
to turn out like this. Felicia told Luke that nothing means more to her than her
children, and that being with him hurts them. He waited an instant, then calmly
pointed out that she'd made her choice. "Good", he added with a little
smile of relief, as Felicia gathered her things and hurried off. DVD #18B
5/23 - Helena and Nik bump into each other on the docks. She tells her grandson
that she thought she was unique until he came along. She reminds her grandson
what it did to her to see her grandson so torn up over his brother's death. She
was thrilled that she could reunite them. She tells Nik he must watch out for
Lucky, especially from Stefan. She tells Nik they mustn't involve Lucky in their
ongoing battles. Nik says although he doesn't believe Helena he thanks her for
returning Lucky just in case. Laura
went to Luke's club to talk to him about the Lucky problem. She explained that
she feels Lucky is trying to "divide and conquer" her and Luke, and
that if they present a united front they will remain in control rather than
Lucky. She felt that this was a chance to rebuild their family, but Luke
ridiculed the idea, saying that it is a fantasy, he and Lucky have both been
gone too long, and neither one is coming back. Laura looked stricken and began
to cry. She said that she was apparently the only one who hadn't moved on,
promised not to bother Luke again, and left, with Luke looking after,
comprehension dawning. Laura saw them and introduced Tim (whom she repeatedly referred to as Tom) to Mac and Dara. Turned out that Tim and Dara had been to law school together, and Dara got Tim away from Laura on the pretense of escorting her to her car to hide her cell phone, leaving Mac and Laura alone. Mac questioned Laura's actions and she tried to defend herself, maintaining that she was having a great time, but began to cry. Mac put his arm around her to comfort her just as Luke walked in. He saw them huddled and took a rain check on Jake's drink offer, slipping out unnoticed by Laura and Mac. Mac offered to drive her home, and she agreed not to think about the hangover that awaits. Felicia saw Lucky on the docks and stopped him to talk. She told him that she had helped his parents look for him and that they didn't really understand why he is so angry with them. She tried to explain to him how much his parents love him and asked him to consider giving them another chance. Luke interrupted then and asked if the two were getting reacquainted. Lucky sneered and asked if Luke couldn't ever tell the truth? Hadn't he asked Felicia to plead his case? Felicia insisted that Luke hadn't put her up to anything and Lucky reiterated that he doesn't want anything to do with his parents and left. Luke asked Felicia what exactly she had said and she told him she was simply trying to explain to him how Luke feels. Luke coldly told her that how he felt about Lucky did not concern her. She suggested that maybe it was a little late for that after all she had invested in trying to help find him. Luke reminded her that he had said thank you for that, but that now they were in Port Charles again and he didn't need her help, particularly when it comes to how he feels. Felicia told him he was in good company because her daughter also doesn't want anything to do with her. He told her it wasn't about kids, it was about the two of them and how it just doesn't work for anyone concerned. He said he was sorry, he hadn't wanted it to sound so harsh. Laura came upon them and commented that Felicia didn't really look like someone trying to save her family. Felicia told her to stop being so judgmental when she didn't have a clue what they were talking about. Luke asked if she was feeling okay and told her he had seen her at Jake's the night before, heavily tanked. He told her she would only hurt herself. She railed into him, saying that she was sorry her pain was wearing on him and she guessed she was taking the decimation of their family a little harder than he was, but then, she does decide to just shack up with the first person who comes along (Stefan?). Luke
found Sonny on the docks and asked him what was going on? Sonny told him that
his baby died. He explained about Michael when Luke asked why he didn't just
kill AJ. Luke was extremely sympathetic, and Sonny tried to say that it wasn't
the same for him as it had been for Luke, as he hadn't known his son
as a person, but his heart wasn't in what he was saying, and he left. Elizabeth
followed him outside and explained what it had been like for her the night of
the fire and the following year. Lucky was listening when Laura showed up, and
he immediately assumed Elizabeth had staged the meeting. He started to leave and
Elizabeth jumped on his case, saying that walking away is his answer to
everything. He turned to Laura and said that he didn't want anything to do with
her Elizabeth remarked that she didn't understand how he could be so cruel, then
denied setting up the meeting. Lucky again said that he thought she had set him
up to meet Laura, and that everything had changed. This time Elizabeth agreed,
maybe they didn't have anything left if he couldn't believe she was being honest
with him. This seemed to reach Lucky, and he apologized for hurting her, but
explained that that was why he thought they shouldn't see each other at all. He
left, and Elizabeth told Laura about the dinner. Laura advised her to hang in
there where Lucky was concerned, then Elizabeth went back into the diner.
Nikolas left to go look for Lucky, and Elizabeth and Emily rehashed the dinner.
Elizabeth decided that maybe Lucky really doesn't love her anymore, but Emily
was reassuring. Helena is on the docks when Lucky comes up. He wants to finish where they left off because Stefan interrupted them before. He tells her he will be leaving Port Charles soon. Helena asks about his sister and brother. Lucky says he can't continue to hurt Liz. Helena says she admires Lucky's honor, but she can't allow him to leave. He responds, "What are you going to do lock me up again?" Of course, Stefan comes up to hear this. He replies, "No because she will be charged with kidnapping now that you have admitted it." Lucky
tells Stefan he has it all wrong. Faison kidnapped him and Helena rescued him.
Stefan tells Lucky his responses sound rehearsed. Lucky is exasperated and says
he is out of there. Stefan tells his mother that Lucky is her pawn and nothing
more. Stefan continues to torment his mother and she shoots back. She wonders
what it must be like for his brother's widow to continue to reject him. Stefan
tells his mother that he knows the only time she threatens him is when he
becomes a threat. He touches the side of her cheek and walks off. Helena touches
her cheek where her son's hand had been. Tammy left Luke in charge of Kelly’s, with warnings for him to not blow up the kitchen like he did last time she left him in charge! After a confrontation with Luke, Lucky informed Helena that he was leaving town for good. She methodically discouraged him during a game of chess as Stefan eavesdropped. Stefan later told Laura that he was very close to finding out what his mother did to change Lucky's attitude. Laura unsuccessfully confronted Helena, in hopes of gaining information revealing why Lucky is so hostile towards Luke and her. A man with a contagious disease passed out at Kelly's. The health department quarantines the restaurant, with Luke and Felicia trapped together again. Laura went to Kelly's and learned that Luke and Felicia were quarantined together. She runs into Elizabeth and they discuss how to move on when the love is gone from a relationship. They also wondered if it was even possible do so. Felicia wondered how she would explain her presence quarantined with Luke. She told Luke that he was a source of temptation that always seemed to get her in trouble. Luke urged her to throw caution to the wind and make the most of their moment together. They began flirting and dancing very intimately, when suddenly they were interrupted with news that the quarantine was lifted, and they were free to go. Lucky and Helena continued their strange covert communication as she convinced him to "do what has to be done." When she took Lucky shopping, Stefan emerged from his hiding place and searched his mother's yacht. He found a picture of Lucky and Helena in what seemed to be a happy moment and he realizes that there is no way that they would be so amiable unless Lucky's mind was altered. Stefan confronted his mother saying that he knew what Helena did to Lucky and how she did it. Stefan taunted Helena by congratulated her for her success in getting Faison to brainwash Lucky to do her bidding, then sealed his fate by saying, "Chess, anyone?" Stefan met with Alexis on the docks. She asked about the wound he was nursing on his cheek and he told her that Luke Spencer had threatened his life and decked him. She suggested that he stay away from Luke, but Stefan said he'd have to go back to Greece to avoid him. After they parted, Stefan met with Mrs Lansbury and told her he knew she had betrayed him and that he had her under 24-hour watch should she decide to do it again. He then told her that Helena planned to kill him and they were going to help her do it. Helena is on her yacht when Andreas arrives. She is thrilled to see him and says she is planning a cruise. Andreas is excited and wants to know details. She informs him that they will have a guest. She says it involves someone going out on the cruise but not returning. He wants to know if this is a game or a riddle. She replies, "Who comes to visit mother and never comes back?" Andreas guesses, "Stefan." Helena tells Andreas that it is a shame that her second son must die just when he is starting to show some talent. She tells Andreas that they need to figure out how to lure Stefan to the yacht and that will be up to him. Andreas gives his madam a massage. Afterwards, she is feeling so relaxed and can't really decide why. Is it because of the massage or because she is getting rid of Stefan? They kiss passionately and Helena tells her boy toy she will be waiting in her boudoir. Stefan sneaks up behind him and puts a knife to his throat. He demands that Andreas tell him everything or madam will be waiting a very long time. Andreas says Helena will kill him if he tells anything. Stefan cuts him and says his life is worth nothing he better talk. Andreas wants Stefan's word that he will protect him. Yes. He tells him that his mother is planning to kill him. Stefan says he knows, but how. Andreas explains they will lure him to the yacht, drug him and throw him overboard. Stefan says good make sure you stick to the plan. Andreas is confused and Stefan tells him not to worry. Stefan takes a drink and throws the glass down and it shatters. Helena calls out concerned. Andreas tells her he broke a glass. Stefan grabs Andreas's hand and tells him to tell Helena that he cut himself with the glass. Helena and her boy toy were meeting to discuss how to take down Stefan at Wyndemere when Alexis arrived. Alexis started out on an intriguing note by asking Helena for a favor. Helena asked her boy toy to remove the trash (Alexis), but Alexis persisted forward. Alexis tried every angle to swoon Helena even by using Jax as a reward. Helena informed Alexis that her line of reasoning was irrational. She knew that she had the upper hand and was not budging. Alexis finally asked straight away why Helena was refusing to give Jax access to the medication. Helena simply replied, because she can. Luke arrived at Kelly's while Tammy was cleaning up an outside table. Tammy could not resist giving Luke a hard time about the quarantine. Luke informed Tammy that it was not all that bad because Felicia was there to help pass the time away. Another surprise walk up, Laura arrived at the same time Luke was talking about Felicia. Of course Laura is still hurt that she and Luke will not be reconciling so she started in on Luke and asked if he was sleeping with Felicia. Luke responded by telling Laura that he will not answer her question nor will he have this conversation with her. Laura came back to her senses and said she was out of line. Laura continued by saying how she and Luke are on different sides about most everything and especially Lucky. Another surprise, Lucky walked up to Kelly's. Laura immediately attempted to converse with Lucky. Lucky blasted her then Luke rebutted Lucky. Lucky then stated that the best solution would be for them to ignore each other whenever they meet in public. Then Lucky walked inside Kelly's. Laura started crying. Luke came over to visit Bobbie and Roy came out to see him. Bobbie and Roy filled Luke in on what has transpired thus far, and also they told him of Hannah's abduction. Luke vehemently opposed their dependence on Sonny, he reminded them that Roy and Bobbie has more to lose than Sonny does. Roy and Bobbie thanked him for his concerned but they were willing to take their chances with Sonny. Mac apologized to Lucky for not discovering the scheme and saving him. He said that he would make it up by putting the people responsible behind bars. Mac asked Lucky about Helena and Stefan's involvement in his kidnapping. Lucky told Mac that Faison was responsible for the kidnapping and that he worked alone. He also continued his assertion that Helena saved him from Faison and Stefan did not have anything to do with his abduction. Mac decided that there were no legal grounds for continuing the investigation, so he will close the case. Laura and Luke were outraged and Luke threatened to kill Stefan while Mac listened on. Lucky told them that he is ready to put this last year behind him and move on with his life. So he was ready to sign his statement and leave. Laura told Lucky that she cannot totally let him go, but she will give him the space that he wants. Luke
was disappointed when Lucky signed the paperwork to end the investigation into
his kidnapping. Laura shared a sad moment with Stefan as the two discussed the
destruction of their relationship and their individual losses. Laura later
admitted to Nikolas that perhaps she had judged Stefan too harshly. Luke
and Felicia awoke together, all snuggly and cuddly. She asked him how many rules
he had in life. He said two, "Eat when you're hungry, sleep when you're
sleepy." She said she had 4,000. They told each other sweet stories and
giggled together. Felicia wondered if she should call home and check in with the
girls, but soon she and Luke were swept up in another moment of fun and passion Felicia
and Luke are still basking in the afterglow of their night of passion. They
continue to kiss and embrace. Later, Felicia emerges from the bathroom fully
dressed as Luke continues to snooze. She wakes him and tells him she has to go.
She wants to be there when her girls wake up. She thanks Luke for giving her the
strength to know she can fight back. He asks if that is all it was? Felicia
tells him that who she is with him is who she is in her heart. But, she is a
mother and her girls are her life. She tells Luke that the girls love Mac and
they need him and she has to compromise for their sake. Luke says he understands
and kisses her hand tenderly before moving in on her lips. He tells her that the
thought of her begging anyone is more than he can stand. She tells him there
will be no begging. It is no longer an option. She says the girls couldn't take
a custody battle and that it would tear them apart. Before she leaves, she tells
Luke she has no regrets and she won't be sorry and neither can he. Felicia
then went to visit Luke who was expecting Alexis. Luke was so happy to see
Felicia. Felicia asked about his getaway. Luke informed her that he was the
number one suspect for the disappearance of Stefan. Felicia told him he was safe
because he was with her all night. That is exactly why I am leaving, Luke
informed her because we cannot jeopardize your reunion with the girls. Luke went
on to say that Mac overheard Luke threatening to kill Stefan the other day and
was taking full advantage of the situation. Luke provided Felicia with
reassurance regarding her impending trip with the girls. They share a passionate
kisses before she left. After
12 hours in jail, Luke was brought in to see Mac, who informed him that he was
going to be charged with the murder of Stefan Cassadine. A vile of poison was
found in Luke's safe. Coupled with the notation of a meeting with Luke on
Stefan's calendar on the Friday night in question, Luke seemed to have motive
and means for murder. Luke asked his sister for her help in getting a lawyer and
she went to visit him at the station. Roy came to visit Luke dressed as a cop,
to help him escape. Laura and Lesley Lu went to visit Liz at her art studio. Laura asked her if she was spending time with Lucky and she responded that Lucky acts as though she doesn't exist. She said that she was beginning to think that there was no hope for them and that she should just do what he says and leaves him alone. Laura begged Liz not to give up on Lucky because she may be their last hope in reuniting with Lucky. Mac was upset that Luke was able to escape from custody. A worried Laura defended Luke vigorously and told Mac that they were still not sure that Stefan was murdered, so he should not use his badge to get revenge. Mac asked Laura why Luke would escape from jail if he weren't guilty. Roy took Luke to the safe house where he has been hiding in order to buy Luke time to come up with a plan. Luke asked Roy for a couple of fake ID's and enough money to escape to Switzerland. Roy then took Felicia to see Luke, who was happy to see her. Felicia told Luke that she suspects that Mac is setting him up to get revenge and she has to go tell him the truth about their alibi for Friday night. Luke refused Felicia's help and told her to stay out of it. Besides, he added, he wants her to have time to get her kids back and work out her feelings. An upset Lucky ran into Helena at the docks and told her she should be the one getting investigated for this crime. She called out his name and told him to " always remember to protect your queen", and the zombie Lucky reappeared. Nikolas hid in the shadows as he witnessed the whole scene. In
Paris, Stefan gleefully read of Luke's arrest, while Nikolas intervened between
Helena and Lucky, demanding that his grandmother leave his brother alone. Helena
professed her innocence and feigned grief for Stefan's death. After she left,
Lucky asked if Nikolas now thought Luke was innocent and Nikolas confessed that
he hoped Luke was not guilty. He also warned Lucky that he should not be hanging
around Helena. Laura answers the door at home to Lucky. He wants to see Lulu. Laura informs her estranged son that Lulu is at a friend's house. Lucky then starts to give his mom the third degree about what she is telling Lulu about where their father is. Laura answers that she is telling Lulu the truth. Lucky reminds his mom that he heard Luke's threats to Stefan. Laura tells her son that Luke didn't do it and that he only ran because he doesn't trust law enforcement. She tells Lucky that after the fire they tried to trust law enforcement and look what happened then. She apologizes again for Lucky not knowing where they were. Lucky asks his mom if she ever walks outside of her delusions or if she is just too scared. Laura tells Lucky that if Stefan is dead it was Helena who did it. She tells Lucky that Helena will have an alibi too. Lucky is frustrated and tells his mom that she and Luke always try to suck him in. Do they know how screwed up they are? He is only back because Lulu needs one person who is honest. Lucky reminds his mom that in all her defense of Luke, she shouldn't forget about Nik and leaves. The Nurse’s Ball is about to being, introduced by a montage ball to “Let's Groove Tonight” as we see everyone on their way out the door. The event started off with Lucy's speech about continuing the important fight against AIDS. The Nurses' Ball is so important because it raises money and awareness for General Hospital's AIDS' programs. The Ball was underwritten by Stefan Cassadine. Lucy thanked him and Nikolas made quite a moving speech on Stefan's behalf. Lucky went up to Helena to say hello. Nikolas seeing him immediately got up and rescued him, and told Lucky to stay away from Helena because she was dangerous. I included a cute and playful performance of “Footloose” by Juan Santiago, Emily Quartermaine, and Elizabeth Webber. After her confrontation with Helena, an emotional Laura wound up at Jake's, where Mac once again bailed her out of trouble. Stefan came up with a plan to foil Helena, while Laura made a pass at Mac. Laura and Mac are at Jake's and Laura is coming on to Mac. She tells him that she isn't looking for love she just wants to be held. Mac hugs her and they almost kiss, but Mac pulls away. Laura apologizes and Mac tells her she is beautiful but that if they were to let anything happen it would just further complicate their lives. She agrees. She tells Mac how she had everything with Luke and she is sure he had it with Felicia but it just must not have been enough. Mac tells Laura he won't take the blame for his failed marriage and Laura says that she won't discount her marriage as a mistake. Mac wants to know if she can forgive him if he is a murderer. Laura pleads Luke's case and says there are reasons for all his behaviors. Mac tells Laura she needs to face the truth. Laura tells Mac that his jealousy is clouding his judgment and he should take himself off the case. He reminds Laura that Luke doesn't even have an alibi. Mac tells Laura that she deserves better and she says so does he. He offers to walk Laura to her car and they leave Jake's together. Stefan is talking to one of his henchmen and tells him that he needs to point Helena in another direction or she might suspect he isn't really dead. The henchman asks if he has to go back to Port Charles. Stefan says that no he will initiate it from there. Stefan makes a call and impersonates Helena's lawyer. He tells the person on the other end that his client wants to know what is going on with the investigation into his clients' beloved son's death. Later Stefan is in bed with some blonde and tells her that if his plan is working then Mac should be at Helena's. She wants to know if this happens if all his problems will be over. No, he tells her and kisses her passionately. On Helena's yacht, Mac arrives to update Helena on Stefan's case. He tells her he won't tell her how sorry he is because he knows how Helena feels about Stefan. Helena wants to know why Mac thinks Luke killed Stefan now? Mac says because Stefan threatened Lucky. Helena asks if this is true and Mac says he doesn't think so, but he does think Luke did it and he does think he has the right man. Mac leaves. Andreas walks in and Helena tells him that Stefan is dead and Mac is setting up Luke. A very jealous police commissioner she adds is doing her work. She wants Andreas to run a bath for two because she feels like celebrating. She retires and Andreas retrieves a CD from a desk and slips it into his pocket. |
