Spencer vs Cassidine #17  January 12 - March 31, 2000 -  8 hour edit

DVD #17A  Helena visits Faison who is getting anxious to leave town and they share some 'affectionate' threats and few insults before they say goodbye. Faison obviously is not amused by her latest power play over him, muttering "I'm not done with you, not at all."  Mac brings Helena in for questioning, and is obviously, as Helena puts it "stressed" over the Faison situation. Mac offers to reduce her charge to manslaughter for the death of Katherine, if she discloses where Faison is being hidden. Dara steps in however, stating Mac doesn't have the authority to do that and releases Helena. Mac then gets a call that Faison has been sighted an Mac races out.

Roy visits Luke and they discuss the Luke and Felicia situation and mess with the videotape. Luke gets a phone call from Faison who asks to meet him and Luke insists on going to the meeting alone.

Faison is trying to get away in a boat. Luke races to Pier 39. Faison says the words we had all been waiting for, "You've been a worthy adversary Spencer. I'll leave you with this. Lucky, your wonderful son is alive." Suddenly shots are fired at Faison  as Mac comes running up trying to stop Faison’s escape. Luke desperately tries to stop Mac from killing Faison. While they struggle, Faison takes off in his boat. The boat explodes, and neither of them sees it.

Mac calls for search and rescue. Luke looks stunned. Mac tries to interrogate Luke about why he was there. Luke says Faison called him. He also points out that Faison was more useful alive. They argue a bit and Mac speculates that Luke was helping Faison escape. Luke storms off.

Laura runs into Stefan on the docks. She tells him she misses him and they hug. She tells him she loves him. She can't promise forever, but she wants a new start. That seems good enough for him. They kiss, and as Luke walks by, he says, "Don't let me interrupt you." He reports that Faison is dead and leaves. She's awkward and tries to explain to Stefan that a part of her will always love Luke.

Later, Dara passes Stefan and Laura on the docks and lets them know that she's dropping the case against Helena. Stefan tries to say she's being played, but Dara isn't interested, a decent attorney has reasonable doubt based on Faison having the wig.

Luke sneaks onto Helena's yacht and holds a knife to her towel-boy's throat. He calls, "Helena, darling, are you home?" She comes out and offers to tell him whatever he wants to know, as long as she releases Andreas. Luke complies and Helena asks Towel Boy to leave. Luke demands to know what her connection to Faison is. She bought jewels from him. Luke tells her Faison is dead. She says she's not responsible and that Faison was overrated compared to Luke. She feels *LUCKY* to have survived her ordeal with him. Luke is caught by that last sentence, but leaves anyway.

Luke is flipping out and drinking in his office. Roy comes in. Luke (quite powerfully) explains that he would do *anything* to get his son back. He tells Roy what Faison said, but acknowledges that Faison is a good game player. Luke blames Mac for the fact that Faison didn't say more before the explosion. Luke was just starting to believe Lucky was dead. Now he's going to Amsterdam and retrace Faison's steps until he finds Lucky or proves he is dead. He won't tell Laura until he knows for sure.

Luke packs up and thanks Roy for taking over for him at the club while he's gone. Felicia goes to Luke's club and he tells her he's leaving for Europe. They discuss Faison's death. Felicia asks Luke if he thinks Helena is behind Faison. He agrees and reassures Felicia that Faison didn't discuss the tape with him before he died. He tells her he's giving them breathing room. They give a friendly kiss good-bye. Luke stops by to see Laura and tell her that he is going out of town for a bit to work on something important. She asks what's going on. Luke tells Laura to take care and vice versa.

Stefan’s arrives at Laura’s to confirm that all charges against Helena have been dropped, and share his fears that Laura’s her next target, as a way to retaliate against him. Laura doesn’t ask him not to do anything illegal to neutralize Helen. Stefan cancels their date and goes off. Ari-twin and Helena are having a celebratory dinner, celebrating the charges being dropped. Stefan joins Helena with an absolutely priceless line about talking to oneself and senility, and he and Helena exchange veiled threats. Laura rather obliquely questions Roy about Luke. They re-iterate that Luke’s off-limits. Laura says that she never knew letting go would be so hard, probably because she never expected to have to.

Stefan tries to question Helena about Faison over lunch in the PC Grill. She threatens him that she will retaliate for poisoning her and storms off. Stefan wanders over to Alexis's table. Stefan tells Alexis he needs her help. When we come back to them (mid-conversation) she tells him she hasn't seen much of Luke lately and suggests he ask Laura about Luke's connections to Faison Stefan worries that Laura may be a target. He wants to unravel Helena's plot before it's too late. Alexis says if she knew anything, she'd tell, and if she hears anything she'll let him know. She also makes it clear that she is quite happy with her life now and is loved by her friends. She won't give that up. Stefan wants her back but understands her desire to have a clean break from the family. She wishes him good luck and goes.

Laura visits Mac at home. Asking if he knows more than what the paper says. Was Luke involved with Helena and Faison? She can't help wondering if that's why Luke left the country. Mac fills her in on Faison kidnapping Felicia and then locking Luke up when he found them. Felicia walks in. Laura throws some jealousy driven barbs at Felicia before she leaves.

Helena is giving Andreas his instructions as she gets ready to go and see Lucky. Stefan visits Andreas on the yacht asking "where is mother going? You can tell me I'm family". They talk about his brother Ari and how he died. Stefan tells Andreas, “I can protect you if you tell me what you know.” Helena comes back for a scarf. She and Stefan spar a bit before he leaves. Helena told Andreas that she wanted Lucky moved immediately and Alexis neutralized because she knew too much.

Alexis was at L&B when Helena came in. They traded barbs, then Helena explained that now that Nikolas is the undisputed heir, she's concerned that Stefan could turn on him at any moment, and she wants Nikolas to know that he can depend on her and Alexis. Alexis guessed that Helena is scared by what she believes Alexis knows, and Ned arrived in time to hear Helena threaten her. Ned and Helena sniped at one another, and Helena wondered aloud how "a little mouse" like Alexis could inspire such ardent and loyal defense. Ned offered to get Jax and attack the Cassadine empire (Jax to raid, Ned to pillage), and Helena commented that she is beginning to understand why Alexis is so confident, but warned her not to overestimate her new power. Alexis responded by calling Helena an "old bat", and Helena replied "You're toast, Alexis" and swooped out.

Later, at Luke’s club, Felicia arrived and chatted with Roy, who was tending bar. She asked if he'd seen Luke, but Roy said that if Luke called anyone it would probably be her. Laura entered in time to hear Felicia say wistfully "I just wish Luke would call me" and demanded to know just why Luke would be calling her, reminding her that she'd said she wouldn't be in touch with him anymore. Laura pointed out that Felicia had been spending every spare moment at the club, and wondered if she planned "to sit on that barstool until Luke comes back." Laura said that Mac had told her all about the Faison escapade, and Felicia rallied with a remark about who had asked whom for a divorce; Laura snidely commented that Felicia had been there to pick up the pieces of Luke's broken heart.

Mac arrived in time to hear Felicia say that she'll see Luke whenever she wants to whether Laura likes it or not. He said he was "sorry to interrupt, but I have a date with my wife". Laura smugly mumbled, "That's a novel idea" as Mac took Felicia to their table. Laura told Roy that Lulu had put their garage door opener in his coat pocket, and after he found and returned it, she left.

Helena met Stefan outside on the docks, and Helena told him to "muzzle his attack dog", referring to Alexis. Helena said that Alexis is beginning to annoy her, and suggested that Stefan put her up to it. Stefan asked Helena why he would do such a thing, and Helena replied that that's just what she was wondering. He asked her if she were frightened, but she denied it and insisted that Alexis was insignificant, her real concern was protecting Nikolas. She conjectured that when Stefan looks at Nikolas he sees Stavros, whom he hated. Stefan replied that he never hated his brother but rather pitied him, and can only love Nikolas, whom he'd raised as his own son. Helena insisted that he doesn't love Nikolas and never has. She can see Stefan for the weak ineffectual man that he is, perhaps Alexis can, too, but Nikolas cannot and therefore he is in danger. Stefan dismissed her speech as nonsense and left.

Later, Stefan encountered Andreas laden with boxes and bags, and said that he could "see Madame has been shopping again." Andreas was reluctant to speak with Stefan, concerned that Helena would discover them, but eventually admitted that she was planning to leave town. Stefan pressed him for details, but he refused to say anymore, fearing that Helena would arrive any minute. Stefan told him that Ari would have been proud of him, and promised to keep in touch. Shortly after Stefan had gone, Helena arrived and kissed Andreas in greeting. She commented that Alexis knows something about Lucky, and therefore must be eliminated. Andreas asked if "Madame means to kill her?" and Helena replied "Tomorrow."

Helena and Andreas are on the docks and Helena asks Andreas if he has made the necessary "arrangements." Andreas is unsure and questions why Helena doesn't rely on an expert. Helena says Alexis should be terminated. Andreas reasons with Helena that Alexis has never even mentioned Lucky Spencer. Helena mocks Andreas and that he must be squeamish. Andreas reassures her is only concern is for Helena. Helena reiterates to Andreas that they must act quickly because Lucky will be in a new home soon. Later that night, Chloe crosses the street wearing Alexis’ coat and Helena runs her down.

Roy is at Luke's tallying up receipts when the owner pops back in. Roy questions him immediately if he turned anything up on Lucky. Luke is disappointed and says all he found were Faison's contacts and a chalet, nothing concrete to tell Luke that Lucky is alive. Roy wonders aloud if this isn't Faison's final head-trip. Luke says it could be, but he still hears this nagging voice that his boy could be alive. Luke further confides to Roy that when he and Laura went to the morgue, they didn't have much to identify except a coin around Lucky's neck. He asks Roy if it doesn't seem possible that Faison could have planted that.

Roy asks Luke why Faison would do it and what is in it for him. Luke says it has never made sense to him that his boy died in a fire caused by candles burning. He discloses to Roy that Lucky was running con games at the age of six when they lived in Istanbul. Luke says that if there is even a shred of a chance he must pursue it. Roy wants to know if he will tell Laura. Luke says she isn't strong enough. Roy tells his buddy that his ex is stronger than he thinks. Luke tells Roy nobody knows his wife the way he does, nobody.

Felicia enters Luke's, sees his things and gets excited he is back. Someone approaches and she thinks it is Luke. Roy enters and Felicia has difficulty hiding her disappointment. Roy tells her he knows she is there for her scarf. Felicia uncomfortably says her dignity too. Roy tells her that he feels Luke could use a friend right now. Felicia tries to get more information, but Luke won't budge. She offers to help with the receipts and Roy says fine. She goes on to say that she will greet Luke in person.

Luke enters Kelly's and is pleased to see Liz behind the counter. Liz tells him his sister is saving lives today, not slinging hash. He wonders who the goon is outside and sees the worry and Liz's face. She tells Liz that Jason left and this is some damage control. Luke exits Kelly's and tells Francis he wants to see Sonny now. Francis says he will get his boss. Laura comes across Luke in front of Kelly's and is glad to see he is home. Luke says thanks and wants to know how Lulu is. She is fine and would be thrilled to see her dad Laura says. Laura says she too is fine and better now that Luke is home. She says she was worried because she heard from Mac about his captivity with Felicia. Laura was worried Luke's recent trip had to do with Faison. She asks Luke if he found anything and he said it was a long shot. They are glad to see each other and say their good-byes.

Sonny arrives at Kelly's and Luke demands to know how it is that when he left Liz was fine and now she has a bodyguard! Sonny guarantees that Liz will not be in danger. Sonny tells Luke if he has an alternative that he needs to do what he needs to do. Before Luke leaves, he calls Liz over in front of Sonny and asks her to promise that she will do what Sonny says. Liz tells him she will listen to Sonny. Luke tells Sonny that Liz has a piece of his son's heart and she must be kept safe. Sonny says he understands.

Stefan sees Laura in the hospital corridor and questions her about Luke? Does she know where he went or why? Laura wants to know why Stefan is desperate to find Luke. Stefan tells her he has uncovered a connection between Faison and Helena. He thinks that Nikolas could be in danger. Laura tells Stefan he must promise not to do anything to harm Luke. He is the father of her children. She corrects herself he is the father of her child. Stefan comforts Laura and tells her he has nothing to gain by hurting Luke.

At Luke's club, Felicia worked on the books as Luke watched from the doorway. When he attracted her attention he was rewarded with big hugs and much delighted greeting. Felicia asked him what he'd been doing, and he avoided answering at first, just saying that he had a hunch. Then he admitted that the hunch was that Lucky was alive, and Felicia insisted that he start from the beginning. Luke related the entire tale, from Faison's summons to the pier to the part Mac played, and explained that he went to Europe to try to find any clue that Lucky might still be alive. He asked Felicia in a whisper if she thought it possible.

Felicia replied that it was hard to take Faison at his word and suggested that they speak to Mac, get the PD files on the fire that killed Lucky, and see if Mac had any contacts that could help. Luke rejected the plan, saying that he had his own contacts, and insisted that Mac not be told. He also stated that he did not want Laura to know, as she'd been through enough, he'd do the job alone. Felicia protested that there was no chance he'd be alone, and told him that she would help him. Again she suggested that they could trust Mac, and again Luke rejected the idea, pointing out that he's not even sure that it all wasn't just a ploy. Felicia insisted that she wanted to be involved, and Luke suggested she tell that to her husband.

There was a knock at the door and Stefan entered, explaining that he wanted a moment alone with Luke to discuss the possible connection between his mother and Faison. Stefan told them that the police are satisfied that Faison murdered Katherine Bell, but he disagreed. He pointed out that Faison was a master criminal, that Helena would have no need for someone like that to pull off a murder she could easily accomplish on her own. He also could not understand why Faison would have been lured out of hiding for such a menial task, and concluded that there must be another objective.

Stefan expressed concern that Helena could be targeting Laura again, and asked Luke if he had any other ideas, but Luke just replied "You're the one with all the answers." Stefan answered "I don't think so" and exited, leaving Felicia and Luke to wonder what that had all been about. Later, Luke reasoned that the fire had occurred before he stole Faison's diamonds, and therefore Faison had no real reason to want Luke to believe that Lucky was dead. Helena, however, had many reasons, and he wondered if, "Your son is alive and Helena's got him.' What if that 's what he was trying to say?"

On the docks, Stefan and Andreas met as Andreas commented that he couldn't be seen with Stefan. Stefan pointed out that the sooner Andreas cooperates, the safer he will be, then said that he knows Helena is planning a trip and demanded to know the destination and time of departure. Andreas fretted that Stefan is going to get him killed, but Stefan assured him that he could be protected and made to disappear. Andreas protested that he didn't want to disappear, but wanted assurance that when he came to Stefan for help, Stefan would give it, and Stefan agreed.

Andreas then admitted that Helena was bound for Nova Scotia and would be leaving "tonight", but insisted that that was all he knew. Stefan pressed Andreas to tell him what was in Nova Scotia, but Andreas just replied that if Helena found he'd told that much, he'd be dead. He reminded Stefan that it would be Stefan's turn to help, and then he left. Stefan got on his cell phone and instructed that his jet be prepared to leave with in the hour.

Outside the hotel where Chloe was injured, Helena approached Taggert and asked what had happened. He explained that it had been a hit and run, and suggested that Helena might know the victim. He tells her it was Chloe Morgan, Ned Ashton's wife. Helena admitted that they'd probably met upon occasion, and Taggert asked her when she'd gone into the hotel. Helena replied that it had been over an hour ago, and Taggert asked if she'd happened to notice a dark sedan, but Helena said that she had not, she'd not been looking for one. Taggert accepted this, thanked her, and left as Helena digested the news that the accident victim had been Chloe and not Alexis as she had intended.

Felicia and Luke discussed the possibility of Helena kidnapping Lucky in retaliation for Luke killing Stavros. Felicia was skeptical with Faison as the only source of information. This led into the idea that perhaps Faison told Luke about Lucky to get back at Helena for a double-cross. Felicia asked what his first move would be and he said he would track Helena since the fire and see if there are any dots to connect. He told Felicia that Mac absolutely could not know about his plan. Felicia tried to encourage him to use Mac's connections and Luke said he couldn't take that chance. Felicia said that if keeping it from Mac was what they had to do, then that's what they would do. There was a knock on the door of Luke's office and Mac entered and said, "I thought I would find you here." He told them about Chloe's accident and offered to drive Felicia to the hospital. Felicia made some lame excuse about having left something at the club when they had been there before for dinner.

Leslie was surprised to find Laura still up at a late hour. When she questioned her daughter, Laura told her she had run into Luke outside of Kelly's and was surprised because she didn't know he was back from his trip. She told Lesley about the kidnapping and expressed her dismay that everyone seemed to know about it except her. She said that she never thought Luke would cut her out of his life, even through a divorce. Laura told her more details about the kidnapping and Lesley asked her if it was the kidnapping or the fact that there was another woman involved that bothered her. Laura admitted that it was both. Lesley asked if that was fair since Laura was seeing someone and Laura said that the concept of divorce was simple, but the actuality was so complicated. Lesley agreed that letting go was never simple and Laura said Luke was not the kind of man you could walk away from easily.

Laura told Lesley how hard the last year of their marriage was, but said that when Lucky had forgiven them, something seemed to turn around. She said she felt that if he had not died, they would have found their way back to one another. Lesley brought her chamomile tea and said it always helped her sleep. She asked if Laura wanted to trade it in on coffee and they could pull an all nighter. Laura said no, that her problems would not be solved by staying up all night. Lesley wished her sweet dreams, then went to bed. Just after Lesley went to bed, the doorbell rang and it was Stefan, apologizing for coming at such a later hour. He told her that he had learned that Helena was leaving the country and knew she was up to something and would be tailing her. Laura worried about him and he assured her that he would not endanger his life or hers. She asked him to be careful. He told her good-bye and she told him to be careful.

As Stefan was telling her he loved her, Luke walked up and said he didn't want to interrupt, just wanted to see LuLu. Stefan excused himself and Luke asked if Cupcake was awake. Laura said she'd been asleep for hours. Luke apologized and said he'd lost track of the time, then asked if it was okay if he just sat by her bed and looked at her for a while. Laura said, "Of course." Laura asked him why she had the feeling he was going to leave again and he said because she psychic. When he came back down, Luke asked if it was possible that she was even more beautiful when she was sleeping. Laura asked him if she had said anything in her sleep and they talked about how Lucky had carried on full conversations with himself in his sleep at that age. She asked if Luke had found what he was looking for and he told her he hadn't yet, but that he would. They said good-bye.

Helena asked her henchman how Lucky was doing and the man answered that he hadn't tried to escape in a while and thought it was possible he'd given up. Helena said he would never stop trying to escape. and that they should never take his loyalty for granted. She asked if he was awake and the man offered to get him up. Helena looked in a window and we saw Lucky laying sleeping on the bed, seen only from behind.  She said waking him wasn’t necessary as her and Lucky would be spending plenty of time together.

Felicia insisted on accompanying Luke on his search for Lucky even though that meant lying to Mac once again. Stefan followed Helena and closed in on Lucky's location. Sonny is in the park with Laura and Lulu. He is remembering that he would have a child and is telling Laura about it. Sonny also tells Laura how he feels that it was his fault that Luke and Lucky had their relationship problems. Laura also learns that Luke and Sonny are no longer in business together as well as friends.

At Luke's club, Luke was packing his suitcase when Felicia entered. She noticed the suitcase and asked if he were planning to go after Lucky right away. Luke admitted that he was, and she insisted that he not leave without her. Luke replied that it would be less complicated if he were to go alone and wondered about Mac, but Felicia said that he should let her worry about Mac. He agreed, but said that no one, not Laura, not Mac, not anyone can know about the possibility that Lucky might still be alive. Felicia left to tell Mac and get her things so she could go along with him, but first she made him promise to wait for her, and he reluctantly agreed.

Felicia told Luke about the book ruse and Chicago destination, then admitted that Mac "knows." Luke thought she meant that Mac knew about Lucky, but she explained that he knew she was going somewhere with Luke. Luke suggested again that she stay home and take care of her family and let him take care of his, but she refused, saying that when they return with Lucky everyone will be so happy that Mac will understand. Luke was doubtful, but agreed. They later debated identities, and Felicia convinced Luke to go with Hiram and Orphey again. Luke pointed out that Helena won't just turn Lucky over without a fight, and that she's lethal, she had probably planted the bomb in Faison's boat. They decided to head to the Cassadine compound in the Greek isles.

At Lucky's hideaway, Stefan watched from the shadows as Helena went to talk to Lucky and told him how nice it will be to spend time together. She gave her compliments to the staff, but cautioned that there would be more work to be done to insure Lucky's full cooperation. She left, and Stefan peeked in the window, recognized the form lying on the bed, and whispered, "Lucky!"

Stefan is outside of Helena's hideout for Lucky. He peers into the window and sees Helena talking to the boy. Helena is inside telling Lucky (of course, we don't know who the actor is because we haven't seen his face), that she understands he has cabin fever and that when she returns she will let him go outside. She thinks they will end up being friends. Helena tells her henchmen outside the hideout that she is pleased with Lucky's progress and they should keep a close eye on him until she returns and then she will let him get some fresh air. Stefan is still looking at Lucky play chess through the window. He goes to the windowpane and touches it. An alarm sounds and Lucky gets up to go look out the window. Stefan retreats and the henchmen search the perimeter. It was a false alarm and they conclude that Lucky probably touched the window and set it off. Helena returns to continue to bait Lucky while he fingers a chess piece.

Laura bumps into an upset Nik leaving Kelly's. He doesn't want to talk about it and leaves. Laura sits with Liz and they start talking about how people act when they have lost someone and how it changes them. Liz tells Laura she only wants Nik to love her as a friend nothing else. She loves Lucky and will never get over it or stop loving him and that is all there is to it. Liz tells Laura why Nik was concerned and Laura says she can't blame him.

Stefan wore dark glasses and met with a mercenary. Stefan made arrangements with the man to put together a small task force to go get Lucky. There was only one condition, Stefan was going too. Helena spoke to someone on the phone and ordered them to double security around Lucky. Helena asked that she be sent Lucky's most recent tapes so that she can track his progress herself.

Felicia and Luke arrived at their hotel in Greece. They had a couple of hours to kill before night, when they would go after Lucky, so Felicia suggested they eat. Luke pulled a pile of shish kabobs out of his pouch, proceeded to munch and offered her some. She declined, not caring for the mystery meat and green sauce approach.

Luke and Felicia discussed plans for getting to Lucky and looked at a map of the Cassadine island. Luke said they would stop about a hundred yards from the island and rowboat the rest of the way. After then get onto the island, Luke said they'd "wing it", much to Felicia's dismay. Felicia wondered why Helena would still have Lucky a year after the fire and Luke assured her it was insurance, but against what he did not know. Luke made sure Felicia knew that they could not get caught or Helena would likely kill Lucky. She said they wouldn't get caught and they started to leave, but Luke doubled over in abdominal pain. Felicia panicked and offered to get a doctor. Luke said no, he was fine and she convinced him to wait until he was better to go find Lucky. He rested on the bed and made fun of her trying to get comfortable in a chair. At last she  agreed to lay on the bed with him to rest.

Stefan came to visit Laura and she told him she'd been worried when she hadn't heard from him. Stefan told her he hadn't wanted to waste a moment getting back to her, not even for a phone call. He told her his trip had been productive and he wanted to tell her about it. She said she wanted to hear, but had to first take some milk to LuLu, which she did. She returned and found him looking at an old picture of Lucky. She said she wished he had known her son better, then tearfully said it still didn't seem right that he was gone. She talked to him about how hard it was to understand Lucky's death and he reconsidered telling her what he had learned on his trip and instead, told her he had to leave again, bid her good-bye and told her he loved her. She said she loved him too.

Lesley came in and asked if she'd heard someone at the door. Laura told him about Stefan's visit and Lesley was polite but reserved about Stefan. She pointed out that Stefan was very secretive and that led into Laura talking about Luke not saying goodbye to LuLu. Lesley asked if Laura was upset about LuLu or herself being left out of the loop. Laura asked if her mom had always been so perceptive and Lesley said she was where Laura was concerned. Laura insisted that she and Luke had moved on and it was too late to find their way back. Lesley did not seem as convinced as her daughter.

Roy wished Laura a good morning and told her she looked nice. She thanked him and remarked on how he was goofing with his shoe strings. He told her that LuLu had redone his laces. She smiled and said Lucky used to do that to keep Luke home for a little longer. She asked if he was going to work and he told her that he was going to meet someone. When she asked if it was Luke, he said he wished. She said he was out of town and asked Roy if he knew where. e said Luke hadn't filled him in on the details and she backed off, apologizing for prying. She admitted that she just couldn't shake the feeling that there was more to Luke's story than he was telling her. He was kind to her and said he knew it was hard having LuLu to consider. She asked if she could ask one more question. did Luke go alone? Roy told her that as far as he knew, Luke did.

Luke and Felicia woke up together with Luke feeling much better after his food poisoning. They reviewed their plans and Felicia said she knew a way to pass the time until night. Luke said he knew several ways. She left and said she would be right back. Felicia returned to the hotel room with food, but a disgruntled Luke was only given broth to drink. She said she had asked a man about the weather and he had drawn her a picture of rain. Luke continued to try to con her out of her food to no avail. He then said he had decided not to enter the island by the cliffs but on the other side. They discussed their plans and Luke wondered if maybe this as just Faison's final mind game. Felicia told him that either way, they had to get the answers.

Laura asked Mac how she could contact Felicia for a play date between LuLu and Georgie. Mac told her that Felicia was out of town doing research on her book. He said he would mention to Felicia that Laura had stopped by. Laura confided in Lesley her dismay over Luke leaving town and told her mom that she now knew Felicia was with him. Lesley asked how Laura knew this and she told her about speaking to Mac. Lesley asked if she had just "happened" to mention that Luke was out of town and Laura assured her mom that she hadn't.

Laura lamented that she knew it was none of her business, but that it broke her heart that Luke was off on an adventure with someone else. She said she was a hypocrite because here she was judging Felicia when she had still been married while she was having feelings for Stefan. Lesley said she wasn't a hypocrite, just human. Laura broke down and admitted that she knew she had said she and Luke had moved on, but she didn't think it would be so easy for Luke to replace her. Lesley said that Laura couldn't know how Luke felt or what he had gone through with the divorce. She comforted her daughter by saying she had been in love with Luke for a long, long time and that it wouldn't just go away. Laura said she had gotten over Scotty, why couldn't she get over Luke?

Felicia decided to forgo the lipstick when she dressed like a cat burgler for the mission. Then she said, "Wouldn't want anybody to think I'm trying to be a CBD." Luke said, "What?" and she answered "Commando Barbie doll." Luke complained that his stomach was growling so loudly it would probably alert a guard on the island. Felicia was sure they wouldn't get caught. Together, they set out to find Lucky.

Luke and Felicia looked around the island and determined that there were no guards nearby, and Luke concluded that Lucky had never been there. Felicia suggested that maybe Helena was afraid that having guards would be a tip-off that Lucky was being held there, and Luke complimented on her thinking...and other attributes. They planned to circle around to Helena's private villa. Once there, Luke commented that he'd never seen so many guards and decided that Helena was definitely hiding something. They determined that any clues to Lucky's whereabouts would definitely be in the villa, and sat down to catch their breath and have some jelly beans for energy. Felicia admired the island and villa, but Luke could not appreciate the beauty. He explained that he saw only pain because of Laura. She was Stavros' wife, Stefan's lover and Nikolas' father, and he knew nothing about any of it and was completely clueless.

Felicia said that trusting one's wife wasn't the same as being clueless, that he should be able to expect that. Luke lamented all the years of lies.  Felicia tried to justify Laura's behavior (and by extension her own) by suggesting that the lies couldn't be easy for Laura, and that perhaps she was only trying to protect Luke and her family like she did with Mac. Luke said he couldn't see the parallel but Felicia insisted that it was the same thing. She had a secret life with another man. Luke pointed out that they weren't lovers, and that so far, Mac is not his enemy. Felicia said she understood how Laura had trapped herself in her lies, and Luke asked why Felicia was with him if she felt that way. She explained that she still felt it was the right thing to do and did not want him to be alone on the mission. They held hands and had begun to move around to a better vantage point when they heard someone coming and hid. They listened as Stefan entered and greeted the security guard, telling him to "put together a task force to transport an extremely valuable asset."

Stefan met with the security captain of the island as Felicia and Luke watched from the bushes. He told him that it was the most important assignment he'd ever receive and that he'd be transporting a young man on a secret operation. Luke could barely contain his astonishment and exuberance. He was ready to go after Stefan and "fillet him into three pieces" but Felicia was able to get him under control until they could find Lucky. They broke into the cabana and found Stefan's briefcase. In some papers, they found the clues that told them that Stefan had been in touch with Faison and that the call had gone to Libya. Luke found a recent photo of Lucky and was taken aback. Lucky was really alive!

Roy and Laura sat on a park bench and watched LuLu play on the swings. Roy was very protective of the little girl and asked Laura if he should go over with her and Laura assured him she'd be fine. She told him how sweet it was of him to spend time with LuLu with Luke being away. Roy told her it was a joy, but wasn't sure how he'd do at ice fishing. Laura said that LuLu was an expert and would teach him the ways and that LuLu had learned early that you had to be an adventurer to spend time with Luke. Roy said that Laura had never struck him as the type for high adventure and she said that it was the best way to be with Luke. Roy told her that Luke was crazy about LuLu and Laura told him a little bitterly that Luke was a great father, when he was around. She lamented that Roy should have see Luke with Lucky.

Roy asked her if back in the day, she had ever thought the two of them would be sitting on a park bench twenty years later, watching a little girl on a swing. Laura laughed and said that she absolutely had not. Roy said thoughtfully that you had to keep your eye on the stakes because they change every day, everything thing changes except for Luke. He said that with Luke, it was like he had never been gone. Laura thought aloud about how things were so much simpler then. She loved him, he loved her and that was all that mattered. Then, she said, her brain just kind of skips from there to here.

Roy asked if that wasn't how it was supposed to be? Laura said no. "Because," he finished, "if you don't know what happened, how can you keep from screwing up again." She agreed that was true. They talked about the Campus Disco days and the ringing of his cell phone interrupted them. Laura asked hopefully if Luke had that number and Roy said that he did. It was Bobbie, saying she needed to see Roy and he told her he'd be right over. Laura said that when a Spencer finally did break down and need you, you'd better go. He asked her to say good-bye to LuLu for him.

Laura saw Elizabeth and she invited her to a Valentine's party for LuLu. Elizabeth begged off and asked if she could just send some cookies. Laura said she was sure she would like that. Laura mentioned that it had been snowing this time last year and that Lucky had asked her for a bouquet of white roses. When she heard that Liz told her how much she missed Lucky and that she had to stop pretending she didn't. She told Laura how much it hurt that the world had gone on without Lucky and shared with her how Lucky had changed Valentine's Day by surprising her with the promises at the church last year. Laura said it would be so easy for her to crawl up inside herself and just remember Lucky all the time, but that she still had LuLu to care for. Liz said that she didn't have reality infringing on her like Laura did and that for now, she was just going to wrap herself up in Lucky's memory. Laura told her that was fine and that when she was ready to move on, she would and that it wouldn't mean that she loved Lucky any less, just that she was moving on.

Helena arrived at L&B and bantered back and forth with Nik and Alexis. Nikolas asked Helena to leave, Helena tried to convince him that she was working for his best interests and Alexis only commenting occasionally. Finally, Helena left with a reminder that she and Alexis were far from finished. Nikolas asked Alexis what that was about and Alexis told him that Helena liked to threaten her. He suggested that she tell him the next time it happened and that, since he had some influence with Helena, he would try to stop it. Alexis told him she loved him and he told her he loved her too and asked her to let him know what Ned said about the job, then they said goodbye.

Stefan took Laura to a beautiful piece of land and told her that he owned it and planned to build a house there for the two of them. As he described the house he envisioned, Laura agreed that would be wonderful, but reluctantly told him that she wasn't sure she was ready for marriage. After all, she wasn't even divorced yet! Stefan assured her the house would take months to build, that she had time. Laura asked what would happen if she wasn't ready then either, would that be the end of their relationship? Stefan said that he would never regret waiting for her. When he asked if it was still Luke standing between them, she said it was her, that she needed to be sure that her love was strong enough to last a lifetime.

Luke and Felicia got to the bunker in Lybia where Lucky had been held captive, but were too late. He had already been moved. Luke found a shirt and breathed in the smell of it, knowing it had been Lucky's. He also found a chess set that was scattered and knew it also had belonged to his son. Luke berated himself for accepting the idea that Lucky was dead so easily. He said that he had known from the beginning in his heart that something was wrong. His son was a light sleeper and would have gotten out! They bantered around ideas for why Stefan might have taken Lucky, including winning Laura's undivided attention for Nikolas. Felicia and Luke arranged to take a chopper to Switzerland, reasoning that because their money was there, Luke could break into their accounts and find a money trail that would lead them to Lucky.

At L&B, Stefan asked to speak to Alexis and she told him that Helena had tried to kill her and had hit her friend, Chloe instead. Stefan asked what had provoked her attack and Alexis told her she had pretended to know something she didn't and that whatever Helena was up to must be pretty unspeakable. Stefan said it was, swore her to secrecy and told her about Lucky.

Alexis was stunned when Stefan told her about seeing Lucky. He asked her to put together an airtight case against Helena for kidnapping Lucky that even the PCPD couldn't bungle up. After a while, she agreed that they would bring Helena down together, provided Stefan would tell Laura everything. Stefan convinced her that if he told Laura about Lucky, it could get her hopes up for nothing.

Laura stopped by Mac's house and they discussed the Felicia and Luke situation. Mac told her that he'd figured out that Felicia's "researching Lila's memoirs" is just a cover story for being with Luke, and Laura told him in reply that Felicia must have a good reason for being with Luke, since she knows Felicia loves Mac. Mac asked if it bothered her that Luke and Felicia were together, and when Laura gave him the "we're separated, he can do what he wants" answer, asked if she were sure about that. Laura mumbled something about running late and left.

Nikolas told Stefan about his PR job at L&B, and Stefan was less than enthusiastic. Nikolas explained that he didn't want the responsibility of running the Cassadine empire, but Stefan insisted that he's the heir and needs to begin behaving as such. Stefan said that he was going to Nova Scotia on business today, but that they'd continue the discussion upon his return, and Nikolas agreed, warning that he would not feel differently then.

At another table, Stefan spoke on the telephone, asking if everything were in place, urging extreme caution, and promising to call when he is ready to depart. Helena entered and joined Stefan at his table. He remarked "Mother, I'd hoped your absence was of a more permanent nature." Helena replied that she'd never abandon her grandson, especially now that Stefan wants to seize control of the Cassadine empire. Stefan casually told her to "think what you want" and Helena viewed him suspiciously, wondering aloud if he were trying to keep something from her. She remarked that he seemed far too pleased with himself, and speculated that it had to do with the house he is building for Laura, labeling it a "pathetically juvenile fantasy." Stefan refused to get into it with her and politely exited.

At Laura's house, Nikolas stopped by to share the news of his job with L&B and explained Stefan's reservations as single-minded focus on the Cassadines' future. Laura said that Stefan might be more open to change than Nikolas realized, and told him about the plans for the house. Nikolas asked if they planned to marry, and Laura answered that while she isn't ready for that, her point was simply that Stefan is not as tied to the Cassadines as Nikolas thinks. Nikolas told her of Stefan's plan to go to Nova Scotia, and Laura counseled that when he returns, Nikolas should just be honest with him and he'll realize Nikolas needs to live his own life. Nikolas left and a few minutes later Stefan arrived. He was pleased by her comment about "family dropping by", happy to be thought of in that way. They began to discuss Nikolas' job at L&B, but quickly dropped the topic, as Stefan didn't want to argue about it. Laura asked how long he planned to be gone, and Stefan couldn't answer her, but said that the sooner everything was completed the better. Laura asked if she could call him, and he said that he would instead call her. She cautioned him to be careful, and he told her that his only wish is for her to be happy, and left.

Back at the restaurant, Helena commented to Andreas that Stefan acted too confident. He asked if she thought Stefan knew about Lucky, and Helena replied that she didn't see how he could, but that she can't afford to take chances.

At their hotel, Luke sat at the computer trying to get clues to Lucky's whereabouts. Felicia decided to call her daughters, and the girls answered the phone. They exchanged "miss you" and "love you" endearments, and Mac took over the telephone and asked, after the girls were out of earshot, "How's Luke?" Felicia admitted that she knew they had things to discuss, but Mac replied that they couldn't discuss this over the phone and asked her to come home. Felicia replied that she couldn't, but that she had a good reason and told Mac she loved him. He answered that she needs to show him, not tell him, and insisted that she return home immediately. Felicia answered that she needed more time, and Mac said, "Let me get this straight. I asked you to come home, and your answer is 'no'. Does that about cover it?"

All Felicia could say was "Oh, Mac." He said he'd tell the girls she'd call tomorrow, then hung up as Felicia sadly said his name over and over. Luke, overhearing her half of the conversation, asked what she wanted to do next. She replied that she couldn't go home because no one can know about Lucky, she'd have to lie, so the best course would be to go through with the plan to rescue Lucky, then Mac would understand. Luke told her that he was having no luck with his computer chase of Stefan and his money, and mused that he needed an inside track. He decided to call Laura, and when she answered the phone, told her that he's working on something Helena is up to and needed to know about Stefan's business trips. Laura was reluctant at first, but Luke assured her that it was important and she told him that Stefan was off to Nova Scotia that very day. Luke told Felicia the news, then got the address off the computer and guessed that that is where Lucky is.

Helena is alone at the Grill talking to a henchman on her cell. He tells her that Lucky is being extremely cooperative. Helena says she is pleased and he'd better be ready for the next step.

Felicia and Luke are on a plane to Nova Scotia. They are plotting their plan of attack on the Cassadine estate there. Looking at a map, they try to figure out the logistics of the area they will be covering. Luke tells Felicia there is a huge estate there that just changed hands. Felicia suggests that there may be more than one house on the property and wonders if they will need backup. Luke tells Felicia he will not involve the cops and she laughs and says no, that she was thinking of Roy. He says that would be good, but he doesn't want to alert Stefan. The other factor is that Roy lives with Laura now. How would Roy explain that? Felicia says explanations can be complicated.

Luke says he knows and asks how she is holding up in the explanations department. She says she knows Mac will understand when they return home with Lucky. Luke affectionately touches her cheek. Luke begins to reminisce about how when Lucky was little, he would jump off of everything: chairs, tables, car hoods, anything he could climb onto. Luke would pick him up and throw him and Lucky would tell him he was flying. Luke confides to Felicia that he is trying not to hope too much about this, but that it is very hard. He is glad he didn't confide in Laura just yet. Felicia and Luke arrive on the snowy Nova Scotia estate. They walk towards the house and Luke peeks in the window. He says the light is on, but doesn't see anything or anyone inside.

Laura walks in to Kelly's as a frustrated Bobbie talks to herself. Laura wants to know what is wrong. Bobbie says she needs Luke's signature on a tax form and hasn't heard from him. By any chance has Laura? Yes, Laura says, as a matter of fact she has. She doesn't know where Luke is, but suggests that if Bobbie's friend, Felicia calls, she might want to ask her because they are together. Bobbie looks shocked. Bobbie begins to pump Laura for information. Laura tells Bobbie she just feels sorry for Mac. Bobbie can't believe Laura dragged Mac into this and begins to lecture her about letting go of Luke. After all, she is the one who filed for divorce.

Laura explains that Mac came to her and had already figured it out. Bobbie tells Laura that Felicia and Luke are friends. She reminds Laura that she was there for Luke when Lucky died and when she included him in her research, it brought Luke back to life. Laura tells Bobbie how irresponsible Felicia is for running off with Luke on an adventure when she is married with two children. Bobbie continues to tell Laura that they Felicia and Luke are just friends and that Laura should be surprised that Luke was beginning to let go. Bobbie looks frustrated and tells Laura she has to go to the bank and walks away.

Liz comes over and asks Laura how Lulu's Valentine's party was. Laura says all the little girls had a great time with their dolls and gloves. Laura asks, what Liz ended up doing. She says that she went to the church where she and Lucky made their Valentine's promises. She tells Laura that she understands what she meant by learning to let go of the grief, but not her memories.

Felicia and Luke searched the house in Nova Scotia and were disappointed to find that no one was there. They encountered a man on the grounds who said he was the one who had sold the property and that he was there to collect a bedspread his wife had left in one of the closets. When Luke asked him about the people who had bought the house, he was excited to learn from the man that they had left in a hurry, going "almost home" with a man who answered Lucky's description!

DVD #17B  2/22 - Stefan was extremely disappointed and spoke to one of his henchmen about how carefully the rescue of Lucky must go. He reminded him that Helena would kill the boy if she knew he was onto her. Later, he visited Laura and told her that his trip was unsuccessful. She was pleased to see him and asked if it would be so tragic if this one business deal fell through and he replied that it would, it meant the world to him.

Mac also visited Laura and asked if she had heard from Luke. She told him she had and he asked if he had mentioned Felicia and Laura told him he had not, but she could tell from the tone of his voice that he was working on important business. Mac told Laura that he had spoken to Felicia and that she could not deny she was with Luke and refused to come home. Laura tried to reassure Mac that perhaps there was a good reason for all of this. She told Mac to come by any time to compare notes and talk. Mac thanked her and left.

Laura was having dinner with Tony and grimaced when he brought up Felicia and Mac. Thinking he knew about the scene at Luke's between her and Felicia, Laura realized her mistake and tried to gracefully back out of the topic. Tony persisted and Mac walked up to say hello. Tony asked if Felicia was out of town again and Mac grimly told him she was doing more research. He asked Laura if another play date could be arranged for LuLu and Georgie and then excused himself.

Luke and Felicia stole onto Helena's yacht, searching diligently for any information that might lead them to Lucky. While they were searching, Andreas arrived and they hurried to hide behind the wooden bar. He prepared champagne on ice while they hid breathlessly. They were surprised when Stefan arrived and asked Andreas where Helena was keeping Lucky. He hedged at first, but when Stefan refused to leave until he told him, he admitted that he knew Helena had rented a cabin near town and that perhaps she was keeping Lucky there. He told Stefan that "Madam" had gone to see Lucky and had only been away a few hours, so he was close. Stefan thanked him and left while Felicia and Luke listened excitedly. Andreas nervously took a phone call and told Helena he would leave immediately.

Stefan was on the phone with his mercenary, loudly insisting "this must take place tonight!" Laura asked him what he was talking about and he told her this was the most important deal he's ever pulled off.

Luke and Felicia arrived at the cabin near Spring Lake and reconnaissance the area. Inside, Helena played chess with Lucky and complimented him on how much his game had improved. She told him that he was doing so well that soon his time of captivity would end. Helena left, reminding the guard to check the parameter. As the guard went about his rounds after Helena was gone, Luke and Felicia started to make a run for the cabin. As they did, Luke noticed movement by the window. The curtains parted and new Lucky (Jacob Young) came into view. "Lucky," Luke breathed.

Laura and Liz talked about how much they missed Lucky and agreed there would never be anyone else like him. They made plans to meet for dinner and just as Elizabeth was leaving, Helena came up to say hello to her. Laura headed her off and told her that she would leave Elizabeth alone or she'd call security. Helena pooh-poohed her and Laura herded Liz onto the elevator. Once the girl was gone, Laura stood off against Helena, who told her she really needed to see a GH doctor for her episodes of hostility. Laura warned her to stay away from her, Liz and Nikolas and informed her that Nikolas wanted nothing to do with her. Helena smirked as Laura stormed off and said to herself that he would, as soon as she produced his beloved brother!

Luke was breathless from his momentary glimpse of his son and was ready to storm the place. Felicia reminded him that the guards were armed and would no doubt kill them and Lucky if they did that. Luke suggested that he act as a decoy for the guards while Felicia went in and got him. Felicia said that Lucky hardly knew her and probably wouldn't trust her, that it was best if she was the decoy. They were just getting ready to put their plan into action when Stefan and his marauders stormed the place and brought Lucky our under armed guard, pushed him into a Bronco and took off, leaving Felicia and Luke, looking on agape. They took off to follow the vehicle. Later, Helena came to visit Lucky and found her henchman tied to a chair, his mouth covered by duct tape. Furiously, she ripped the tape from his mouth  and demanded to know what had happened. She made a phone call and demanded that a 24 hour watch be put on Wyndemere and Laura's house immediately and that Lucky be recaptured before Stefan could release him.

Laura and LuLu showed up for Georgie’s party. Mac sent LuLu upstairs to play with the other girls and Laura encouraged him to have faith in Felicia and hear her side of it.

Alexis met with Stefan and he filled her in on the situation with Lucky. He told her that he needed to have Helena's case airtight so that he could hand her over to the police. He then confessed that he had lost track of her.

Luke and Felicia arrived home and went to his office. Felicia consoled a despondent Luke by telling him that at least he knew Lucky was whole and safe. She said that now he could tell Laura and he said, "and now you can tell Mac." She looked sheepish at that and he guessed that she was stalling. She said it was Georgie's birthday and she had to get going. As she was leaving, she asked him if he'd ever wished he could live two lives at the same time, one safe and one daring. He said, "We'll always have Nova Scotia." She smiled and said that Mac would understand everything, but would probably not want her to see Luke again. As she said good-bye, Luke called her back and kissed.

Alexis and Luke had strange encounter in his office when she came there looking for Roy. She was extremely antsy and told him about Helena's attempt on her life. She then wished him well and left him, puzzled.

Stefan was arranging to see Laura when his man came in to speak with him. He reluctantly admitted to Stefan that Helena had stolen Lucky back from them and he had no idea where he'd been taken. Stefan was furious.

Laura answered the door to find Luke standing there. He told her that he had to speak with her, that he had wanted to wait until he was sure to tell her, but now he was sure. Thinking he meant that he was marrying Felicia, Laura teared up and said she wasn't ready for this. He said, "Laura, Lucky's alive. Baby, our son is alive. He didn't die in that fire, it was a hoax." Laura looked at him, dumbfounded, then realization flooded her face. "Oh my God!" she shrieked, hugging him close. "Oh Luke, Oh my God!

Stefan was enraged when his guy told him that they had lost Lucky and had no idea where Helena had taken him. He screamed at the man to find him immediately and report in by cell phone.

At the Spencer home, Laura was dumbfounded, then jubilant as Luke explained to her that Lucky was alive! He had seen him in the flesh! After she had settled down, he was forced to admit that there was bad news. Stefan had Lucky. Laura did not believe him at first, but Luke insisted he had seen Stefan take Lucky. She wondered why he would do that and Luke said it was because he was a Cassadine and would do anything to hurt them. He reminded her that this was the same man who had held her mother captive for all those years.

As they were talking, Nikolas came in and said Stefan had told him to meet them there. Luke asked him if he knew Lucky was alive and he was astonished. Luke soon saw that Nikolas had no clue about Lucky. Nikolas was shocked when Luke revealed that Stefan had Lucky and Luke had seen them together with his own eyes. Laura said she wanted to speak to Stefan alone, so the two left. When he arrive, he said he had something important to tell Laura and that she'd better sit down. She insisted she was fine and he again said he wanted to tell her something very important. "That Lucky is alive?" she asked. He looked surprised and asked how she knew. She told him that Luke had told her, that Luke had seen Lucky. She demanded to know where her son was and when he honestly said he didn't know, she hauled back and slapped him.

From her car, Helena called Luke on the telephone. Lucky listened to his father's voice, but hung up without speaking. Luke tried the call back phone feature, but it didn't work. Roy entered and Luke griped about how the Swiss bank numbers on the Cassadine accounts had been changed, then casually mentioned that he'd found his son. He told him about telling Laura the news and then they speculated about what the Cassadines might be up to and agreed that Lucky would expect Luke to rescue him. In the limo, Lucky remarked that they were headed for the interstate and Helena said that someday he might be able to return to Port Charles if he chose to. She offered him a game of chess but he decided he'd rather look out the window, as he was unused to being able to see where he was headed. Helena promised him that they'd see a great deal together on the tour she had planned just for him.

Laura remained furious with Stefan despite his attempts to explain. She realized that he wanted her to believe that he may have made an error or two, but he had the best of intentions, and she refused to do so. She decided that he'd told too many lies for her to ever believe anything he says, then speculated on possible schemes he might have been working on. She demanded to know where Lucky was, and Stefan insisted that he had no idea. He said that he had risked everything for her, but she corrected him, "You systematically dismantled my life until you were the only choice I had left."

Stefan replied that it had never been his intention to be the man she settled for; he wanted to be the man she loved, and his plan had been to prove that love by giving her back her son. Laura suggested that Lucky had been simply a tool for Stefan to impress her with, and concluded that Stefan was a Cassadine just like all the rest. She demanded again to know Lucky's whereabouts, and when Stefan couldn't answer, ordered him out. He told her she was making a mistake, and after he left she began to cry.

Laura met Luke at the club and told him that Stefan maintained that Helena had Lucky and he had no knowledge of the location. Luke asked if she believed Stefan, and Laura said that Stefan would say whatever suits his purpose. She pointed out that Luke had told her that and apologized for not believing him, then started to cry again and fell into Luke's arms.

Meanwhile, Alexis advised Stefan that if he produces Lucky the police would assume he had him all along. Stefan insisted that Lucky would tell them otherwise, and promised to prove that he hadn't kidnapped Lucky. Nikolas arrived then and accused Stefan of doing just that.

Nikolas walked in just as Stefan adamantly declared to Alexis that he would prove to Laura that he had not kidnapped Lucky. Nikolas asked if it was true and Stefan loudly declared that it was NOT and told Nikolas that Helena was the one who had worked with Faison to kidnap Lucky. He tried to explain his actions to Nikolas, but he was too furious to listen to his uncle. He declared that as soon as he turned 25 that the whole Cassadine legacy would be turned over to  charity and that the dynasty ended today!

Nik stormed out of the room and went straight to Elizabeth. He gently told her that Lucky was alive and she responded angrily, asking him why he was doing this to her. She was in extremely denial and sent him away. After he left, she went to a box, pulled out a satin pouch and tearfully held the subway token on a chain that had been on Lucky's neck the night he died.

Laura came to Luke's office and told him what had happened with Stefan. She tearfully apologized for not believing him about Stefan's Cassadine-ish ways and he forgave her and gave her a big hug. She let him know that she was going with him when he went to look for Lucky and he readily accepted her offer. He told her that he felt Lucky was near and wanted to check out a few things locally before they left. She asked if maybe Mac would be a good asset to bring on board with his connections to Interpol and such and Luke balked.

Mac interrupted Laura and Luke just as they were debating bringing him in on the search. He began to berate Luke for his involvement with Felicia, but Laura quickly grounded the men to the search for Lucky. She told him what she knew and he said he would question Stefan.

On her private jet, Helena tells Lucky that she knows he must be curious about where they are going and cryptically told him that their destination was significant not only to him, but to his parents as well.

Laura arrived at home and took the carpetbag from the closet. She and Leslie discussed the rescue plan while she packed. Leslie wondered if perhaps Stefan could be behind the kidnapping after all, and Laura admitted that she really didn't know what to think. Leslie asked if Laura thought she and Luke might get back together after they find Lucky. The doorbell rang, and Elizabeth entered. She spied the carpetbag and guessed that Laura was going off to hunt for Lucky. Leslie went off to do some shopping while Elizabeth and Laura discussed the risks in believing that Lucky may still be alive. Elizabeth admitted that she is afraid to take that risk, and Laura understood but explained that as Lucky's mother she had no choice. Elizabeth volunteered to go along on the search, but Laura refused, asking her instead to spend time with Lulu, and they agreed that neither of them can go on with their lives until the matter is settled one way or the other.

At Luke's club, Luke and Roy talked as Luke prepared to leave. There was a phone call for Roy from one of Sonny's men, and Luke objected to Sonny's business being carried on at his club. He and Roy talked a bit about working for Sonny, and as Luke wondered if Roy had informed Bobbie about his organized crime involvement, she walked in the door, and she and Luke greeted each other excitedly. The phone rang again, and this time it was Mac, demanding to see Luke at the PD. As Luke was on his way out, Bobbie told him that Mac had left Felicia.

Mac threatened to arrest Stefan for kidnapping, but Stefan denied the charge and insisted that Helena was to blame. Mac was interrogating Stefan about his alleged rescue attempt when Luke arrived, and the three of them went round, alternating hostility and sarcasm, with whose fault it all is and whose story is the correct one. Mac advised Luke that the police had located Helena's deserted yacht and Luke left. Stefan left after Mac warned him not to leave town.

Helena told Lucky how the yacht they are currently on used to belong to her husband Mikos before he was killed and the Spencers got it as their reward. She condemned Luke and Laura for allowing the yacht to fall into disrepair, then went on to discuss the Spencer character, branding Luke as vain and careless and Laura as weak and indecisive. She was telling Lucky that Luke and Laura don't value things or one another when he interrupted, asking why she'd brought him there. She pointed out that "you know the rules."

They went on to play chess, and when Lucky won he reminded her that the rules allow him, as a reward for a checkmate, to get an answer to one question. His question remained: why had she brought him there? Helena explained that she had brought him there to teach him about his life the way it really is, to overcome the damage done by his parents, to show him the person that he really is and take him to see the places that shaped his life. She said that once he knows the truth, he would never see his life the same way again.

Luke arrived at Laura's house and told her that the police had located Helena's yacht. Even though the yacht was deserted, they viewed it as a start and smiled in anticipation of their adventure and the joy on Lulu's face when they bring Lucky home. Laura asked when they were going to leave, and Luke told her that they would leave right away, to start packing. She pointed to the carpetbag and Luke declared that he had one more thing to do and rushed out, promising to be right back.

At Luke's club, Roy is receiving last minute instructions on firing Claude for various infractions. Luke tells Roy that whatever it is he does for Sonny, to keep it away from the club. He tells Luke he will have the club still standing when Luke gets back. Luke reminds Roy that he will be back with his son. Liz knocks at the door and says she needs to talk to him alone. Luke tells Liz, despite her doubts, that it was Lucky he saw in the window and he is going to bring him home. She tells Luke to tell Lucky that she loves him and she is waiting. He tells her that it will be the first thing he tells him.

Felicia walks up on Luke on the docks. They are glad to see each other. He tells her he is taking off again to find Lucky and that Laura is going with him. Felicia tells him that is the way it should be. Luke tells her that she did a lot for him and that he knows what it cost her and asks if there is anything he can do. She tells him that was the problem, she went to him for help and not her husband. She tells him she wishes she could go with him and asks where they are going. He tells her they are going to New York where Helena's yacht is docked. She says it could be a trap and he assured her they will be careful. He tells Felicia that he loved every moment he spent with her. She asks if he will let her know what is going on. He will he touches her face and tells her there is only one Orphey Goodlove. They embrace and she tells Hiram goodbye.

Luke goes over to Laura's house and asks if she is ready. She says she has been for hours. He tells her he wishes Liz didn't know and they both wish they could tell Lulu. Luke reminds Laura that all she has to go on is his word that he saw Lucky. She says that is enough and tells him it is time to go find their son. They have a cute exchange over who will carry her heavy bag and Luke picks it up and they leave.

Lucky and Helena dined together on the elegant yacht, The Haunted Star. Helena explained to Lucky how the yacht had belonged to Mikkos, her husband and that she had gone to great lengths to secure it. She wondered what it must have been like for young Luke and Laura to live amongst such opulence when they had lived such a vagabond life. She wondered if perhaps they had eaten at this very table, acting as though they didn't have a care in the world. Lucky reminded her that they quite literally did not have a care in the world, but listened closely as she shared with him how disgraceful she thought it was that when he was born, they continued their gypsy lifestyle, forcing a young boy to conform.

Lucky asked why that offended her and she told him that he was a boy of such charisma and charm and intelligence that she wished his life had been different. Thoughtfully, she said she considered not releasing him since she enjoyed their time together so much, but then concluded that her goals would not be met if she kept him. She was called away by Andreas to take a call and when she returned, Lucky was missing. She launched a search of the yacht and Lucky was found on the deck, where he said he had gone for some fresh air. Andreas vouched for him, saying he'd been on the deck and had not resisted being returned to her.

Stefan asked Alexis to cover for him with Mac while he went to look for Lucky and she balked at the idea. She wondered why he would go to so much trouble when he had already put the better part of his life on hold for Laura and now she was not trusting him. He reminded her of how long he had loved Laura and how much he had invested in her and that he would not give her up that easily. He insisted that he would find Lucky and prove how much he loved her and that he was not involved in the kidnapping.

Luke and Laura checked into a suite in New York and planned their attack. There was a tense moment when Laura found passports, thinking they were for them and saw Felicia's picture on one. She brushed past it and they hurried to the yacht. They searched extensively and were about to give up when Luke found a model of a ship on display. The recognized it as The Haunted Star and quickly left to find it.

Alexis spoke to Stefan on the telephone and encouraged him to return to Port Charles immediately. Mac arrived a little later, looking for Stefan, and Alexis scrambled to cover but Stefan waltzed in the door at the last instant. Mac pointed out that they'd found Helena's yacht in New York and that a couple and a man had been spotted going on board. He suspected that the man was Stefan, in violation of his don't-leave-town order. Stefan expressed his lack of faith in the PCPD, and Mac outlined his suspicion that Stefan is trying to frame his mother, and he kidnapped Lucky to break up Luke and Laura. They exchanged a couple more barbs, and Mac left. Stefan began preparations to leave, saying that he had found evidence that pointed to Madagascar, but Alexis vehemently objected, warning that if Stefan left again he would look guilty. Stefan vowed not to allow Helena to frame him, and pointed out that if Luke and Laura found Lucky first, Luke could convince the boy to say things that would incriminate him.

At the club in Charleston, Laura was approached by a stranger who offered to show her the sights, but she begged off, saying that her husband was with her. When Luke joined her at the table, she apologized for referring to him as her husband, but he gently pointed out that, after all, he was just that. They met with Raoul, the owner of the club and the man to whom they'd sold The Haunted Star, and exchanged pleasantries. They pretended to be interested in buying their yacht back, but Raoul had bad news: he'd sold the yacht ten years before. He thought perhaps he still had the bill of sale, and went upstairs to look for it and to contact a friend in the Coast Guard.

Luke and Laura reminisced about the Whitakers' farm, The Titan, Robert and Tiffany, and agreed that they worked well together when united by a common goal. Raoul returned with the bill of sale and news from his friend, in the last few days the yacht had been active near Reunion Island, in the Indian Ocean off Madagascar. Taking the yacht to Reunion Island was deemed "so Helena."

Aboard the yacht, Lucky and Helena played chess with the "one question" prize for checkmate. Helena won first, and asked Lucky why, if his childhood had been so perfect and Luke and Laura so great, had he moved out at such a tender age? Lucky tried to brush it off as wanting to be independent, but when Helena pressed the point, he admitted that there had been things he hadn't known or understood. She submitted that his instinct to leave had been correct and had probably saved his life. When he won the next game, Lucky asked when specifically he would get to go back to Port Charles, but Helena replied only that she, too, was anticipating his return.

Felicia goes to the docks to say goodbye to her memories of Luke. She starts to remember the kisses they shared and those great glances. She gets up and says, "Goodbye my friend." She climbs the stairs to leave and as she does she sees Helena pass by and stop on the docks. She stays hidden and looks intent on staying.

Luke and Laura continue to try to unravel Helena's web on their former yacht. They talk about how the yacht was haunted and creepy. Laura starts to panic when she thinks she has figured out what is going on. She tells Luke that Lucky probably is dead and that it is a trick. Lucky is a ghost, smoke and mirrors like everything else on the yacht. Luke looks wounded and grabs her and hugs her as she has a minor meltdown. He comforts her and they decide to keep looking on the boat. As Laura is searching through a book she comes upon a piece of paper with Lucky's handwriting, it has directions to the boxcar. Laura says he is alive and that he wrote that to try to stay connected to them. Just then Stefan bursts in and tells Laura he has to explain something to her. She looks dismayed and Luke has his gun drawn.

Felicia overheard Helena and Mrs. Lansbury talking. Mrs. Lansbury had no message from Stefan about where he'd gone or when he'd be back, but she did intercept a message from Stefan's pilot indicating that he'd gone to the Indian Ocean and had a seaplane. Helena was pleased that Stefan went exactly where she'd pointed him, and reasoned that when he got to the yacht he'd remember only his father, not any of Luke and Laura's history there, and so be unable to guess her next move. Helena added that Mrs. Lansbury was to report any more information about Stefan, and gave her a small wad of money.

Luke held his gun on Stefan as Stefan said again that he only wants to help them find Lucky. Stefan argued that they need his help since he is able to track Helena, and refused to leave when his help was turned down. Luke aimed the gun at him and said that the only way he could stop Stefan would be to shoot him, but as that might upset Laura, he'd settle for slowing him down a little. The gun went off, no damage, and Luke locked Stefan in the closet. Luke proposed that he and Laura go over the yacht one more time and then leave, and all the while Stefan was in the background calling Laura to let him out. Laura was unsure, but agreed to leave with Luke.

Laura returned alone a minute later, and Stefan talked to her through the door, reminding her of how he rescued her from the train tracks, he knows her pain, he loves her, how could she doubt him? Laura wavered, and Luke arrived to ask whether she was just checking to see if Stefan were locked up tight or if she were about to make a big mistake? She explained that she didn't trust Stefan, but didn't want to hurt him. She planned to call the authorities to let him out as soon as she and Luke were safely away. Luke replied that he hoped she had a cell as he was not going to stop to make any calls, and naturally she had one. They left with Stefan still entreating Laura not to leave him in there.

On the yacht, Luke held a gun on Stefan as he begged them to let him help find Lucky. Luke forced him into a closet and locked him inside. As he beat on the door, he begged Laura to help him. She glanced quickly at Luke and they both headed out the door. When she returned for her bag, Stefan told her he knew she was there, that he could feel her. She started to move toward the door and Luke returned, asking her if she was checking to make sure it was nice and secure or making a big mistake. She left with him again. Later, Stefan was able to find a knife in the closet, which he used to jimmy the door of the closet open.

Luke and Laura annoyed a flight reservationist until he told them that Helena's plane had gone to Argentina. Luke tried to bamboozle the pilots of the plane and offered to triple their pay if they'd fly him to Argentina. They sensed that something was wrong, suspected he was a smuggler and handcuffed him. Laura saved the day by pretending to be Agent Drever of the FAA and lambasting their security on the plane and in the airport. She demanded that they release "Agent Spitz", but not after he convinced her to only give them a verbal warning. Later, they prepared to board their flight and she told him Lulu had lifted the badge from a forest ranger and she'd kept it, at LuLu's request, to show Luke. Luke said he'd act surprised when she did.

Helena took Lucky into Mikkos' old office on Ice Princess Island (looked like the same set to me, folks). Lucky was impressed with the plans for the weather machine and what was left of the machine itself. She told him what a visionary Mikkos was, a genius, and that but for his parents, Mikkos would have created a Utopia on Earth. She sadly told him that there would be no desserts, rain forests everywhere, no more hunger, floods, etc.

Felicia saw Andreas and Mrs. Lansbury. She hid and eavesdropped on their conversation. Andreas explained to Mrs. Lansbury that Helena wanted to know what Stefan was up to, and admitted that she planned to lure Luke and Laura to Ice Princess Island and trap them there. Mrs. Lansbury wanted no part of that, and told Andreas that if Mrs. Cassadine wants to speak to her she will have to contact her personally.

Helena and Lucky are looking over a severely neglected Ice Princess Island hideout, of course with chess set. Helena begins spouting the genius of Mikos, her late husband, as Lucky agrees. She asks Lucky if he has accepted his parent's inadequacies. She finds Lucky fascinating. He has triumphed over so much. How did he survive such an upbringing she wonders aloud? The chaos? Lucky replies with a big grin that it was cool. When all of the other "regular people" were actually missing out. Lucky and Helena continue with their chess game. They laugh as Lucky advances on the game. She tells Lucky that due to his victory he gets another question answered. Helena tells Lucky that actually he gets a choice. Does he want to remain on the island a little longer or go back home to Port Charles?

Luke and Laura are on Ice Princess Island. They are bickering fondly about where they will pitch their tents for the night. Laura insists they need to move on in search of Lucky and they have no time to wait. Although Luke agrees, without the sun to guide him, it is probably better if they call it a night. In a cute exchange, Laura wants to know about his constellation concept. Uh, let's stay here for the night. Laura agrees and observes how ironic that they should end up almost exactly where they started, Ice Princess Island. As Luke roasts marshmallows for the two of them, they, specifically Laura, continue to remember their time on the island. How although a maniac, Mikos ran the island, it was still a Garden of Eden. Luke remembers aloud Laura in a sarong with her golden hair. She was so distracting, he continues he almost didn't save the world. She reminds Luke they had a little help from Robert Scorpio. He tells Laura that he thinks Robert interrupted their lovemaking more than anyone they knew did. They share a laugh.

Luke and Laura continue to remember their time on the island. Laura wants to know what happened to that carefree girl she used to be. Luke tells her kids. She says she didn't have plans or a future, just staying alive. Luke agrees. She reminds him that before all she needed was him. She was never scared and felt they were invincible and they were magic. She says although she remembers all of that, she does like who she has become and what. She says though, that there are days that she wishes she could "fly" again. She tells Luke some days if he just extended his hand and said nothing, she would go. Suddenly, the dynamic duo, hear a noise. What is it? As they begin to prepare for the invader, Laura picks up a huge log. A disguised Felicia, in all black, wrestles with an unsuspecting Luke. Laura readies the club.

Stefan tells Andreas he must know where Helena has taken Lucky. Andreas tells Stefan to an island, Ice Princess Island. Andreas leaves and Stefan makes a call to his pilot. He wants the plane ready. Taggert walks up and tells Stefan that he has an appointment with the PCPD. Stefan says this is impossible, he has places to be. Taggert tells him he is under arrest.

Taggert brought Stefan in and they exchanged barbs until Mac entered. Mac once again accused Stefan of kidnapping Lucky in order to break up Luke and Laura. Stefan replied that Mac was letting his personal life affect his professional judgment, and Mac was so angry he grabbed Stefan. Alexis and Dara walked in as Taggert tried to pull Mac off Stefan, and Alexis suggested that it looked like assault to her. Dara and Alexis argued whether Stefan could be charged or held, and went off to find a judge to decide. When they returned, Dara had a judge's order to allow the PCPD to hold Stefan for forty-eight hours, but Alexis successfully pitched the idea that they could all work together to find Lucky. Mac decided to let Stefan go to search for the boy as long as Stefan agreed to notify him first with any developments.

Lucky and Helena played chess. He asked her whether they would stay on the island or leave, but she was lost in memories of how wonderful it had been with Mikkos, before he was destroyed by Luke and Laura. Lucky told Helena that he was tired of all her secrets, and wondered what she wanted from him. She replied that she just wanted the pleasure of his company, then her phone rang and she announced that "it's time."

In the woods, Laura was about to bean Felicia on the head with a club, but she was recognized in time. Felicia explained that she'd overheard Mrs. Lansbury and Andreas talking about Helena leading Luke and Laura into a trap, but Laura said that they already knew about that and were prepared. The three of them stood about awkwardly, with Felicia faintly offering to be another pair of eyes and ears, then Luke announced that they should try to find the entrance to the cave, the door and control panel. Luke found the door but it was sealed. Felicia found the control panel and after few lame attempts at guessing the secret code, Laura suggested 10/23 (Helena and Mikkos' anniversary) and the door opened.

Luke and Laura went inside, determined that Lucky had been there, and began to search for clues, leaving Felicia outside to keep watch. Felicia spotted a helicopter and the three of them took off after it, but they were too late and missed seeing who was aboard. Back inside, Laura asked if Felicia could please leave the job to Luke and her, and Felicia explained that she would either join them in their search or go it alone, but either way she can't go home without "your baby", and her marriage depends on it. Luke replied weakly that they appreciated the help, with Laura offering a reluctant "yeah, sure'. Laura declared that she needed some fresh air, and went outside. As she did so, the door shut behind her, trapping Luke and Felicia inside.

Felicia fretted about her and Luke being locked in Mikkos' board room and kept banging on the soundproof door, hoping someone would hear. Luke tried to reassure her that he would get them out; he always does. They found an air vent, which they unscrewed and both tried to climb through, despite spiders.

Laura tired to release the door with no luck and was startled to hear a noise behind her. She hurried to hide behind a wall, only to find herself looking down the barrel of Stefan's gun. She told him what was happening and was ecstatic when he said he knew how to release the door. Her joy was abruptly disarmed when he refused to do so unless she left with him. When she refused, he left her. Laura was able to get in touch with the coast guard, but a storm was keeping them from being able to get to the island. Later, around a fire, she heard a noise. Thinking Stefan had returned, she was cautious, but was overjoyed to see Luke emerge from the brush. They hugged joyfully, while Felicia looked on, forlorn. They tried to rationalize where Helena would go next on the history tour and Laura realized it would be Texas, where Lucky was born. They set out immediately.

In Texas, Laura was moved when they checked out the house they had lived in when Lucky was young, now standing empty. Together they reminisced about their times there. As they were remembering, Felicia walked up and reported that there was no sign of Lucky there. Laura worried that perhaps Helena had not brought Lucky there after all. Luke encouraged her saying that he trusted her instincts. The three of them started searching the area again.

Lucky took Helena out into the desert to revisit a place special to his family. He scratched his name in a rock and threw a matchbook into some brush. When Helena questioned him about it, he said, "That's the game, isn't it? Leave clues for Mom and Dad to find?" Helena congratulated him for being such a clever boy.

While Luke was out, Laura barely harnessed her anger when asking Felicia to please go home and leave the finding of Lucky to her and Luke. Felicia argued that they needed all the help they could get and Laura told her this was about her and Luke finding Lucky, not her, and that challenged that Felicia was not there to find Lucky, but to be with Luke. Felicia said that she could not go back home without Lucky. Luke walked up and asked what was going on and Laura told him that she had asked Felicia to leave. Felicia asked Luke if he had a problem being there and Luke said, "No." Laura fussed about how unfair it was that she had to put up with the crap and stormed off. Felicia apologized for the trouble and Luke told her that there was a place where Lucky used to go that they should check out. He told her where and she left to investigate.

Helena told Lucky that their next stop would be their last and that after that, he was on his own. At the arroyo, Felicia found where Lucky had scratched his name and was thrilled to see that it was recent. She looked around further and saw the matchbook, but slipped while reaching for it and went off a cliff. She barely grabbed hold to the edge and dangled over the side and screamed for help just as Laura came around the bend.
