Gia's P.O.V.

It has been 3 days since I had proposed to Nik in his hospital room after the accident. I had handed him my heart and soul on a silver platter, and he embarrassed me terribly. I though I could trust him. I though he was the man I was going to spend the rest of my life with. I thought wrong. He said he loved me, but if he had, why had he rejected me so horribly? Nik has been home from the hospital for 2 days, but I haven't spoken to him since he got back. I have been staying with Carly in the penthouse. She has been an emotional wreck ever since Sonny died in the accident. She's needed my company, my friendship. As much as I long to be at the cottage in front of the fire, in Nik's strong, loving arms, Carly needs me and I have to be here for her.

'Carly' said Gia 'I have to go to the cottage to get something, but I'll be back in just a few minutes okay?'

'Um, ya sure Gia, just hurry back okay?' asked Carly, her big eyes filled with tears.

'Alright' said Gia giving Carly a quick hug before she dashed out the door. Of course Gia didn't have to get anything from the cottage, she just had to see Nik. She would tell Nik she needed something too, she didn't want him to know that she missed him, and needed to see him.

Nik's P.O.V.

I can't believe I did that to her. She is everything I've ever dreamed of and more. She's the only woman I could ever see myself with. But I couldn't accept her proposal. I'm just going to keep cooking, maybe that'll help me keep me mind off her. There is a knock at the door, and I make my way towards the front of the cottage. I swing the door open and there stand Gia. She is even more beautiful than when I last saw her......I didn't think that was possible until now. She looks like an angel. The sun hits her body, highlighting her in all the right places. She's the most beautiful sight I've ever seen. But I can't give in. As much as I want to just grab her and kiss her, I can't give into the temptation.

'I just have to get something from my room' Gia said, interrupting his thoughts. 'Then I have to go back to Carly.'

I can't move. I feel like there are 100 pound  weights tied to each of my feet. She is amazing.

'Nikolas?'

'Oh, right yeah sure' Nik said, forcing his feet to move aside, and gently closing the door behind her.

A few minutes later, Gia bound down the stairs with a full backpack.

'Well, I have to go back to the penthouse, Carly's waiting for me' said Gia.

I can see the pain in her eyes. The torturing pain. The worst part of all is knowing that I caused this pain. The woman I love more than anything in the world is in unbearable pain, and I did it to her. I can't take it anymore. I have to tell her.

'Gia, I have to-'

Gia's face lit up when I started to speak. Wait, wait, I can't do this, I can't give into her.

'Never mind Gia'

Her face went back to displaying her pain, and just seeing her like this makes me want to cry and take away all the hurt. But I can't give in, I can't. I have to stick to the plan..........
