'Gia!' Nik called from the bottom of the stairs, 'Come on Gia, it's time to go!'

'I don't wanna leave this cottage!!' Gia yelled, 'I look like I swallowed a water-melon!!!'

She waddled down the steps as Nikolas put one arm around her and laid his other hand on her stomach.

'Gia, sweetheart, you're carrying our baby, you're supposed to gain weight. It's not healthy for you not to. And I don't care, because no matter what you look like you will always be beautiful to me.' Nik told her as he kissed her lightly on the forehead.

'You are too good to me' Gia said, as she pushed her arms into her jacket. 'Are you nervous?' she asked.

'A little.' Nik confessed. 'You?'

'More anxious than nervous.' she said. 'I'm going for an ultrasound, we're going to see our baby. I can't wait.'

'Well then, if you're that excited, lets go.' Nik said as he opened the door and placed his hand on her back as she walked out the door.

'But first,' Gia said turned back at him, 'Let's go get something to eat. I'm hungry........again'

'That's okay honey, you're eating for two. We'll stop by Kelly's on the way there.' Nik agreed as he took her hand and led her towards the Jag.

~*20 minutes later, at Kelly's*~

'Hey you two!' Lucky called from across the room as Nik and Gia walked into Kelly's. 'And hello to you too.' Lucky added as he gently pat Gia's stomach.

'Hey Lucky' Gia greeted him with a smile. 'How are you?'

'I'm great. And you?'

'We're on our way to the doctors' Nik told Lucky.

'Oh, I see.' Lucky said.

Gia's face went from bright and cheery to cold and stone hard when she saw Liz slowly walk down the stairs and behind the counter to pour some coffee. Liz noticed Gia after a few seconds and strode over to the three of them.

'Hello, GIA.' Liz said, shooting daggers at her.

Nik possessively took hold of Gia's hand and spoke to Liz.

'Hey Liz, we just stopped by to get something to eat, then we'll be gone.' Nik said to her.

'Alright' Liz said as she took out a note pad and Nik placed their order.

'Ok, is that all, or would you like me to just send you directly to the back of the kitchen so you can clear out everything we've got.' Liz said looking at Gia.

'Oh, if I didn't have a child in me right now, I would deck you!' Gia threatened.

'Oh but you do' Liz said, 'And you wouldn't want to be a bad role model for your kid, now would you?'

'Alright, that's enough Elizabeth.' Nik stepped in. 'Look if this is too much of a problem for you, we can go somewhere else.....'

'No--no, it's fine. I'll be right back' Liz said. 'Ooops, did I poison your food?' Liz muttered under her breath as she walked in the kitchen.  But no one heard her comment........

'Oh, that girl....' Gia said as she put a hand to her forehead.

'Gia, sweetie, you have to relax' Nik said  'It's not good for the baby for you to be this stressed.'

'You're right....you're right.' Gia said, slowly calming down.

'Listen Gia, I'm sorry about her' Lucky said.

'No, Lucky it's not your fault.' Gia reassured him. 'No one can explain that girl, and absolutely no one is to blame for the way she is.'

'Gia's right Lucky' Nik agreed.

Just then Liz walked out from the kitchen with a brown paper bag.

'Here you go' Liz said as she handed Gia the bag. She took the bag and turned to Nik.

'Let's go Nik' Gia said. 'Bye Lucky, We'll call you later and let you know how the appointment went'

'See you guys later' Lucky said as he watched Nik and Gia walk out of Kelly's, hand in hand.

Liz walked back towards the kitchen. 'Oh Gia, you're going to be sorry you messed with me. Food poisoning is very common these days...........'
