We actually relaxed a little bit in the morning before we went in hunt of the rumored canyon...which we had not seen yet. We did see deer in the morning when going to officially check into the campground.
We finally got around to touring the canyon. It was raining off and on throughout the day. However, in between the rain, we followed the hiking trails. We were going to keep going but when the lightning seemed really close (which was evidenced by Kate's hair literally standing on end and by Rob's arm hair standing up), we began hiking back to Grand Canyon Village at lightning speed (every pun intended). Oh yeah...and we also saw vultures flying up and around the canyon. Once again, we took lots of pictures.
In the evening John and Kate met up with John's cousin Cindy for dinner. Rob and Jen grilled out. After the meals, John, Kate, Rob and Jen all roasted marshmallows and ate s'mores. We crashed shortly thereafter.
